I made an appointment a few hours ahead of time.
I arrived on time and was promptly seated; I let Ann know I"m going to a wedding reception on the 28th of this month and wanted my hair to look just right, not recently cut. I prefer my hair a little longer, so it grows out a bit wavy for a nice body. She advised me to wait another week, then come in for a trim.

Hey, I"m liking pro advice. I recommend Ann.

5 stars because of Steven Ma.

Two years ago, my friend recommended this place to me, so I thought I'd give it a try - I'm so glad I did! Steven fixed the disastrous haircut I got at Visual Image ($60) for half the price (less than $30 with tip). I really like how he cuts with plain scissors to cut - none of those fancy smancy ones. He's the only one I go to now =)!

I think you also get a gift or something after 10 haircuts.

One bad thing: he is always pushing me to get my hair straightened or get that oil thing. Blah. Just say no. hahah.

Ann did my hair straightening and I love it! It has been couple months since the appointment and my hair still looks beautiful and healthy, of course straight too! I will definitely go back for haircut or coloring soon!

I've been to a lot of hair salons, expensive ones and inexpensive ones all around the Bay Area and I have to say this place is my absolute favorite.

I have tried almost every barber there and they're all very good. I've referred several friends there as well for cuts and coloring both male and female and all of them really liked the place. If you are Asian, this is the place to go. I think Asian people for the most part cut Asian hair well because our hair type and characteristics are different. I've gone to Santana Row and Regis and other places and spent $80+ on my hair cut which I didn't like as much as my $20 hair cut at Imagine Hair & Beauty.

well. i made a appt with ann after i read all the reviews here....and i m glad i did.

dun try the other stylist beside ann. ann is professional and nice girl. she won't lie to you or sell you anything. she will tell you the truth and suggest what style is good for your face. her suggestion is very helpful. i paid $28 + tips total because i have long hair. i am really happy with my new hair. i fwd a lot of my friends go there....

if you don't want to wait, u better call and make the appointment during weekdays. remember ask for ann. she is very busy.

After reading the reviews on this place and all the praise about going to Ann, i truly had to give this place a try.  What a HUGE disappointment.

This salon and the people who work there are all completely unprofessional, the salon was dirty & the service poor.

I had an appt @ 1pm with Ann & even arrived early as I had read that even if you have an appt, sometimes you still had to wait another 15 mins or so.  I get there and tell the lady at the front who I was, and that I had an appt with Ann @ 1. She said ok! just sit and she'll be right with me.

After 20 minutes, I looked at the time, and it was now just 1pm.  So i said to myself, it's ok. I was early, so those 20 mins i was waiting don't count. Finally, after another 20 minutes, a man at the desk finally asked me if i was waiting for someone. I said yes i had an appt.  He calls out to Ann and she comes over & asks if i have an appt, i look at her books and CLEARLY written @ 1pm was my name. She had already finished with her previous client and had sat an older lady that she obviously knew and who had come in 20 minutes AFTER i did in her chair already!!

Ann proceeds to tell me so sorry, she didn't KNOW that she had an appt!! WTF?! it's written right there in your book! whatever. she asks me to wait another 10 mins, she'll be really quick. Normally, by this time, I would have just left and said thanks but no thanks...but i haven't had my hair cut in a LONG time and was in dire need...so I said fine.

Finally, @ 2pm..I get my hair washed and seated in her chair. Ann comes over & asks me what I would like done, I pulled out a picture of the cut that I want, a picture that I've used with previous stylists before and have never had an issue...she looks at the photo and then tells me that because of the way my hair is, that cut wouldn't look right on me and she's going to do something different. Um. no, that isn't really your decision.  So i just tell her to give me layers & side bangs.

During this 30 minutes that she's cutting my hair, I counted that she left me to attend to other clients 7 times.  I'm not talking left for a minute to say goodbye or greet. She would actually leave & go over to the products with some clients and help them pick out shampoos and hair products, people who were just walk ins even, she would go over & walk other people's clients in/out..which i DID NOT see her do while i was sitting there waiting.  That is completely unprofessional. i'm sorry...I am the one paying for your time and service right now lady. PAY ATTENTION TO YOUR CLIENTS. Also, i have pretty damn straight hair and this is the first time EVER that I have had any stylist suggest and keep on suggesting to me to get my hair straightened with their japanese chemical straightener.  Don't push products or services on people who do not need them.

Also, she was making me really nervous because I had to tell her at least 3 times which way i wanted my bangs parted because she kept pushing them to the other side...and i would watch as she cut, she kept glancing around, at the tv, at other people walking around and actually CUT my hair while she wasn't even looking!

Looking around on her station was making me nervous as well, it was extremely dirty, she obviously doesn't clean up between clients, she even had DOG biscuits & dog food on her station!

By this time, i'm fuming, but i'm a pretty nice person..so i just sit patiently & pray.  Finally, she calls over her assistant Tiffany, to blow dry & straight iron my hair.  After Tiffany is done, i sit there. Juuuuuust sit there. Until I finally get Ann's attention and have to ASK her if we were done.  She comes over and starts dry cutting/finishing touches...i admit, the cut wasn't bad. It actually looks nice. But was it worth 3 1/2 hours?? Certainly not.

Also, on their service menu it says "women's cut - $25 - $27" and she charged me $30.  From the horrendous wait time, to the not even bothering to check her schedule to see if she had an appointment before taking someone else, to the not listening to what I wanted, to the walking away to attend to others NUMEROUS times, to the product pushing, and just the complete lack of professionalism, I took the extra $3 that she charged me as her tip.

It's too bad that she made it such an awful experience that I will never go back.

After the style and blowdry, I wasn't sure how to think about new hairstyle.  After I washed out all the gunk out from my hair, I actually kind of like it. It's a little shorter than what I would of liked but it's okay b/c it's more layered and she didn't massacre my bangs.

My first time seeing Shirley. I got her name through my friend's recommendation.  I was concerned at first b/c she was slightly older lady.  I was pleasantly surprised. She wasn't pushy about the hair products although she asked me if I get hot oil treatment b/c my hair was so dry.  The haircut was $28 (wash, cut, dry, style). I have medium length hair and she spent about 30-40 minutes with the whole process.

I think it's slightly on my more expensive side for me since I usually only pay $20 for a haircut in San Francisco.

I'll see how many compliments I get before I come back to her. So far, on day one I got one compliment.

DO NOT GET JACK. DO NOT DO NOT DO NOT.

I did a walk in appointment and he was free, so I figured, what the hell, why not. I brought in a picture of what I wanted: long bangs. Very easy. I also told him I didn't want to lose the shape I had for the rest of my hair, and that a simple trim will do.

Somehow I ended up with a mullet. Holy crap. The 80s called, Uncle Jessie said he wanted his hair back. Cost me about $25. I was about to NOT TIP, but he ACTUALLY HAD THE NERVE TO ASK FOR ONE. Then he tried to tell me that I needed to re-dye my hair. Uh. No thanks.

Spent the next month with either a hat or a ponytail because I was too embarrassed. Only my boyfriend has seen the mullet and he bursts out into laughter EVERYTIME he sees it.

They only get stars because my boyfriend goes here usually and they do a pretty decent job on him. I'm not sure what he asks for exactly, but it's shorter on the side and longer on top? Typical Asian boy hair. Can't mess it up.

So bad that I reported this place to the local BBB. My husband was getting a haircut and asked this guy Johnson not to cut it too short, just right above the ears on both sides. When Johnson told my husband that he was done, my husband said he could still feel some hair touching the top of his ears and if Johnson would trim just a bit more. And OMG, Johnson got very upset and asked why didn't my husband say something earlier and that my husband was wasting his time. My husband was like, my hair still looks like it needs some more refining, how am I supposed to know you were already done. Then Johnson started yelling and waving his clippers around. I've never seen anything like this. Never ever! The guy's gotta be mental. When asked to speak to the manager, this other guy came over and said the manager wasn't available. Of course. I was so getting ready to call the police on this guy Johnson, he looked like he was about to charge on us with his tools. I never quite got why he all of a sudden got so upset. Bad day? It wasn't like my husband was making demands all throughout. Can't believe my husband paid for the cut. I would've just walked out. He had to go to another salon to finish up his cut.

So I wrote to the manager and to the BBB hoping that they'd understand why this was absolutely unacceptable. LOL, the manager offered a free cut and I responded, you know, it's kinda like discovering a roach in your food while eatign at a restaurant, would you ever go back, even for a freebee? No, just fire the guy. Ugh just plain awful.

For most of my life, my hair has been short. I spent most of my child and teenage years in a pixie and then went a little longer for college. But 2 years ago, for no real reason, I decided that it was time to grow it out, for the first time in my life. Of course, I didn't really have the patience to just let it grow and so it took me 2 years to get to my shoulders. But for the past few months, the hair has been getting in my face and in the way of life in general. I always just put it in a ponytail or up in pins. That was no way to treat my hair and so I decided that it was time to chop it off again and have a hairstyle that I could play with.

I have interesting hair because I'm half Asian. I have my mother's (Japanese) thickness but have my fathers (German) randomness. Some areas of my hair do some things and others do other things. I guess that's why it gets a bit insane when it gets long. Anyway, it takes a hairstylist to see all this to give me a really good and interesting haircut and Ann was able to do that.

Ann sat down and talked to me about how my hair flicks in certain directions and what I wanted and what I didn't want. She was excited that I wanted to chop it off because it gave her a chance to play. I was happy that she was happy to be adventurous because it meant that I wasn't going to get something simple and boring. She was incredibly meticulous. She never once used normal scissors, even though she cut about 4 inches in length off. She used only those scissors with the tongs on it. I was incredibly impressed with her skill. The haircut that came out was great. It was short, but not too short. It was funky, without being too unusual so that I couldn't go to work with it. It's totally asymmetrical and I love it. And the $25 bill made it oh so much sweeter.

The thing that makes me give this place 4 stars and not 5 is the organization of the shop itself. They must have some problems with their books because there was another woman waiting for the same time spot as I was. They had double-booked. I was lucky enough to be the "right" costumer but the other woman was very pissed. The manager casually watched TV in the middle of the shop. It just seemed a bit unprofessional.

But all in all, I really liked this place. I love my haircut and don't regret taking off my hair at all. I'm just sorry that I didn't do it sooner.

I've been having Ann cut my hair for 8+ years. . she is truly awesome. If I get my hair cut by anyone else in SJ, they use the buzzers only or will try to pump my hair up like some Vietnamese punk. . and I'm Chinese!!!

(that's what sucks about SJ Salons. .so many Vs. .so they make you look like one of them)

I like that Ann cuts the top of my hair with just scissors and meticulously cuts everything evenly. ..she gets this cool rhythm going of using her hands, a comb and the scissors. She is extremely confident with her skills and her experience really shows.

Twice, I dropped in without making an appointment and Ann wasn't there. . and I was in dire need of a haircut. .Tiffany was available (and both times I got her). . she sucked.. I mean, it was fun chatting with her. . she was too slow. . took 1 hr (while Ann takes about 15 min). . she had no confidence in what she was doing. The results were ok. . my wife could tell that Ann didn't cut it.

There was a guy named Henry once. .I think he quit and is now working at one of the other salons in the same plaza. .near the hot pot restaurant and kitchen /cooking supply store. Anyhhow. .he cut my hair once and I was satisfied.  .he cut my wife's hair once as well and did a great job. .

STILL, I think guys cut girls hair better (and gay men stylists are even better). .and girl stylists cut guys hair better.

My wife finally gave in to allow some "Chinese stylist" tinker with her hair (she's Japanese). .my wife has really really thick and coarse hair. ..and after I've referred her to Ann dozens and dozens of times.

Ann really understood my wife's hair texture, how it grows, how to maintain etc. . and my wife is really loving Ann's work.  My wife has been going their for the past 4-5 yrs.

Our 2.5 yr old has been getting his hair cut by Ann since he was born. .and Ann is REALLY REALLY good with kids . .even fussy kids (not ours though).

Imagine has little race car seats for the little kids. ..probably more geared towards boys..and several flat screen TVs (even portables) available for kids to watch while getting their hair cut.

For the one person who gave Imagine low marks. . .if you're f*cking complaining about the person answering the phone couldn't speak English very well ..WTF you doing calling a Chinese Salon for if you can't speak Cantonese and/or Mandarin? DumbA$$!!!!

And if you're complaining about Ann not writing down reservations in her schedule after taking a call..how do you know Ann doesn't already know the person who called. .perhaps it's one of her many loyal customers that she already  knows..I know when I make a reservation, she knows me automatically and even asks how the my wife and son is doing.

You should always make an appointment with  Ann or anyone else. .it's never guaranteed you will be seen at 10am even if you're appt is at 10am. . more like 1030-1045. . that's the price you pay for having Ann cut your hair. .she is the most busiest stylist at Imagine.

I used to go here all the time. I have to admit that Ann does a great job of cutting hair.

As a guy though it's pretty hard to want to go to a salon for a hair cut but I had no trouble as long as I was getting the right person and felt comfortable. The problem here is that most of the time this placed is packed with people. When there are women that are willing to pay a lot more on their hair then a guy like me you can be sure you are going to be waiting if you are set on wanting to get Ann to cut your hair.

So I finally gave up and just decided that if I can't get Ann then I won't bother going since it's not the cheapest place for a guy to get a hair cut anyways and at least I won't be waiting like an hour just to get my hair cut either.

I also decided that I can't stand Asian places that won't let me use a credit card if it's less than $20 bucks anymore.

Overall this place is great if you can actually get the right person which tends to not happen.

The best hair salon!

We have been visiting this salon for 5+ years now. I'm not sure about all of the stylists there, but Anne is the best. Steven who also works there and does great fades for men/boys.

The prices are very reasonable, better than Supercuts, and the best part is that you will have peace of mind (that you're haircut won't be f***ed-up). Men/boy haircuts range from $11-16, depending if you want a shampoo also. Women's can be slightly higher, depending on what kind of style you want. I have had $15 updo's, $20 razor cuts with multiple layers, and $200 Japanese style permanent hair straightening.

If you can avoid the weekend crowd, there probably won't be a wait. If you must go on a weekend, try to stop by when they open at 9am, because after 11am the wait can be as long as 2 hours.

Other pluses: they accept credit cards, unlike most asian barber shops, and have flat screen tv's to keep you entertained. And you need not fear the language barrier, because they can understand and speak English fairly well (even if they answer their phone or greet you in Chinese).

I just had a haircut with Ann.  I dont' wanna complain about my hair for the price that I paid, but I think I expected a bit more since there's so many good reviews about Ann

I made an appointment for 11am but the guy who took the phone call didn't understand English well enough.  He booked me for 12 noon.  I got there today at 11am sharp but Ann wasn't in yet and I was told to come back at 12.  I was kinda pissed off but since I drove for 30 mins to get here, I might as well wait.

Ann was very quiet, she didn't really give me a lot of feedback on how my hair should be cut.  I showed her a picture and she said she'll do something similar but with some changes.  She didn't give me any feedback.

She was very busy, she took almost 5-8 calls and it's not even the weekend, it's only Tuesday.

Also becareful when you call for an appointment because a lot people called Ann to make an appointment today.  All she said was, "sure....what time....great...see you then".  But I didnt see her writing it down in her schedule so no wonder she's always overbooked.

When I called for an appointment the guy told me a cut without shampoo was $22 but when I paid, Ann said she charges $25.   But I was cool about it....$3, no big deal.  I paid $30 including tips.  I can't say it's a great deal...but it's not that expensive either.

After washing my hair the next day, I find my hair very hard to manage.  The layers were cut in a way that made my hair curving out, which kinda look odd and messy.  All i can say is, You pay for what you get.

The reason why i stopped going to this salon is because of Anne being late all the time! I've had the japanese hair straightening 2 times here and it was great. But everytime i go to this place (and they want me to come in early) is they're always late! Finally on my third appointment, i waited 30 minutes for Anne. Good thing i found a new place and does the same exact thing for my hair even better and they're always on time. Too bad if it wasn't for their tardiness people would come back.

I woke up one morning and wanted to get a haircut immediately.  I was sick and tired of my long hair always being in a pony tail, that I wanted it short.  So I picked the phone up and made an appointment with Ann for the same day at 12.30pm.  ( It was a friday, by the way)

I was bracing myself for a long wait/ lotsa people being attended to.  I got there early at about 12.15pm, and the place was empty except for about 3 other clients in there.  Ann came and saw my hair, gave a few suggestions and pointed me to go get my hair washed.  Alas, 15 mins later, hair washed, I was sitting in THE chair.

Since I was her only client, she was able to attend to me only the whole time.  While she took a minute of just staring at the back of my head ( I am assuming that she was strategizing ways to tackle the mop on my head), I prayed that the cut would look good on me.   She spent about 25 mins doing a rough cut and then blow dry. After which she proceeded to spend 1/2 hour to cut/shape my hair to its final masterpiece! Total time: About 1hr 15 mins! From wash to checking the back of my head. Awesome!!

All in all, $28+tips. Now you cannot beat that price anywhere! I've been to a number of hair salons in SF and South Bay, she is up there with the best and yet she charges a fraction of the cost.

I will definitely go back to her whenever I need to snip, snip my hair.  Whenever I make a drastic cut, (ie long hair to short) I am always very nervous as to whether the stylist can find a suitable style for me because I have very wavy hair.  Which means with a wrong cut, I could end up with frizzy hair standing on its end. So far, I am very pleased with my hairstyle.

Thank you Yelpers! for helping a tight wad find her a hairdresser that she loves!

I've had my hair cut here a couple of times. but this review is for my most recent experience.

First by ann, she was really good.  could tell she cared about your hairstyle and if you liked it.

Second by kim, who i found out doesn't work here anymore. she was pretty good too.

I called today and ann wasn't working, but i needed a haircut badly, so I dropped by anyways and johnson cut my hair.

meh.

first, instead of just washing my hair like they usually do, he had to ask me first. Then he asked me what I wanted, and while i originally wanted a totally new style, I sensed he wouldn't be able to deliver, so I said just shorter and long layers.

He essentially gave me a trim, and near the end he seemed to lose interest and turned his movie on and half watched his mandarin drama and half-heartedly finished trimming my hair.  Then when he was done, he said i needed an oil treatment. When I don't need one, and actually get complimented on how healthy my hair looks...
I asked him if my hair was dry, since he recommended a hot oil, and he looked confused and said "oh? blow dry?"

so he started blow-drying my hair--wait was he not gonna style my hair and just send me out like that??--and then i sensed he was done.

Everytime i get my hair cut, the stylist will usually cut my hair, straighten it and then do touch ups and then a final style since my hair is curly/wavy and its hard to tell if everything is even.

my hair looked dry and puffy from his styling, he barely used a comb and just blew it out.  my bangs were all curled up on the side of my face... my hair didn't look fresh at all.
I asked him to use a straightener to fix my bangs, and he said "oh? straighten?"
*sigh*
so he straightened my bangs and then cut them a little more. then i got tired of requesting anything else and said "yea, everything's fine" and he let me go $28 lighter.  i still gave him a tip because i just feel guilty if i don't tip.

bottom line:  don't walk-in.  make an appt. with someone you know is good, otherwise it's not worth the cheap price.
totally unsatisfied with my haircut, and probably won't return again.

I would give them NEGATIVE 5 stars if I could, because they have perhaps the worst service I've ever encountered in any industry I've dealt with.

First of all, if you only speak English, I wouldn't even consider going there.  They seem to only speak Chinese.

I called 10 mins before I got off of work, and the reception picked up the phone.  I asked them if they are still open and if Ann is still available.  The Chinese guy there told me that she was and to walk in.

After I get off of work, I go there and the reception tells Ann that her customer has arrived.  She gives a confused look and tells me that she is going to give her friend a haircut.  The guy then didn't take any responsibility for setting me up with her, and they started to play the "ignore" everyone game.  Ann goes back to work (which entailed organizing tables, etc...) and IGNORES me.  What the hell?  I stand there for a minute before I get fed up and ask, "So does that mean you can't do my hair today?"

THEN she tells me she can't do it.  I fear if I didn't ask, I'd still be standing there wondering what the heck is going on with this place.  She might have the skill, but her "I don't care" attitude and the whole cold shoulder really puts her professionalism (and the professionalism of the whole place) into question.  There are much better places, I'd skip this altogether if I were you!

I made an appointment with Ann because of the good reviews I've read on Yelp and because my brother highly recommended her. I went into my appointment knowing that I'd be waiting 15 or so minutes before Ann could get to my haircut. Ann is such a busy person and everyone is always demanding some of her time. She does have to walk around and help others, but she always comes back and apologizes for making you wait. Time wasn't an issue for me because Ann is thorough when giving haircuts.

She started off my appointment by talking to me to figure out what kind of haircut I wanted. She listened to what I wanted and gave me some good advice about what she believed would look best for my face shape. All I told her was that I wanted long layers, thinned out hair, and side sweeping bangs. She did way more than I expected and gave me the best haircut in my life. This is the only haircut I've ever walked away loving. She understands how to cut hair, what will look best on a person, and how to take the time and be meticulous with what she's doing. The entire haircut process may take a long time (1 to 1.5 hours or so depending) but it is so worth it.

Forced Hubby to go in here today for a much needed haircut.  He hesitated b/c he usually goes to some cheap $7 salon on McLaughlin.  So, I had to beg him to just go here since it was convenient (right after lunch), he really needed to get his hair cut, and there was no wait.  The stylist (didn't get his name) washed his hair and cut it.  It probably took about 30 minutes.  His hair looks great-just the right length, so I hope he lets me drag him here again.

He was bitching about paying $18, but I told him it's worth it because at least I don't have to worry about him getting some scalp infection.

8/14/07 UPDATE:  Thanks for the tip you guys!  As a result, I got an awesome haircut from Ann last weekend!  I love my hair and it only cost me $28.  The Tiffany/Ann team is awesome (see Nikki's review)!!!!   Ann rocks!!!!  Also, I didn't personally get this done, but it seems like they do a really good job with their straightening perms.  Everyone I saw at the salon who got it done looked great and were smiling ear to ear.  :)

To be honest, you don't want to go here if you're trying to save some money and don't think it's worth to spend a lot on your hair. The quality you pay for though is worth it to me. I always get my hair done by Steven and no one else. It just sucks since he only works on weekends and that's when it gets busy. He's great at what he does though. Not only does he give me a great cut, he walks me through the process telling me what he's going to do and how he's going to make my hair better. He's super nice and does my mom's hair too so we give him generous tips.

I love Steven Ma. I swear I will never have anybody else touch my hair but Steven. I go here every six months for straightening. He sees other clients in between coz my appointment takes six hours. Six long hours that is so worth it because my hair stays great and straight for six months. Aside from that you can see his dedication and attention to details. Never go to JACK. The reason why he's always available is that no one schedules with him EVER. So he gets the walk ins.

Thanks to yelp, i found my new go-to hair dresser and her name is Ann! She is such a sweetheart. She sat me down and had a little consultation about the haircut and color i wanted and i made sure i told her every detail. The end result came out great, execution was perfect! I left the salon and headed to Maui for my cousins wedding and had everyone complimenting and asking me where i got my hair done. Ann is awesome!

I LOVE ANN! She's the greatest, and no one else cuts my hair but her. She's great, friendly, and knows her customers. I've gone to her to get funky cuts and colors, and to get more conservative ones. I've recommended her to several friends and they all loved her. Although I've never had my hair done by Steven, I know he's good just by seeing his clientele. Call and make an appointment! They're always booked, and although I love Ann, she has a habit of over booking. Also, if you walk - in the wait is sometimes over an hr.

Oh lord.  Was Ann having a bad day?  Is there another Ann at Imagine who does not know how to cut hair?  I booked her this evening, and I swear this is the worst cut I've received in my life.  Believe me, when it comes to haircuts, I don't expect much, which is why I refuse to pay much, but I kinda do expect that my hair will fall evenly on both sides.  I came in with long hair and I asked for a trim.  I walked out with hair that's longer on one side of my face than the other, and the majority of it thinned out around my scalp, to the extent that I look like I have very thin, flat, baby fine hair, which is not the case.  And she cut off a LOT more than she'd indicated at the beginning.  I get the feeling Ann realized that it was a horrible cut too.  She kept trying to fluff it up to make it look less flat and thin than it was, and she didn't charge me as much as I've read she charges others.

Well, at least it's just hair.  It'll grow out.  And after it does, I probably won't come back here.

I noticed I am the first guy to rate this place and the first person to not give it a five. I also did not get Ann, since I made an appointment for Saturday at 5pm and they were pretty full. There was a waiting list for Ann already. But the girl that cut my hair was ok, though her English was poor. Guess I should have expected that being in China Town of South Bay. It only cost $16 plus a tip, which is pretty cheap for a decent cut, but I am not planning on going back right now.

Wow!  This place rocks.  So I spent a whole morning yesterday reading various hair salons and finally decided to leap into action with this place.  I called in to make an appointment and got it right away with Ann.  I started out with my hideous long hair that I haven't had time to cut in about 1/2 year (yes, I know .. it's either I've been busy or lazy hehe) and ended with a shorter cut with about a thousand lbs of weight off of my head!  Phew, Ann and her perfectionism .. she kept cutting and trimming my hair for about an hour and 15 minutes and never once complained about my massive amount of hair like every other salons that I've been to over the years.  Highly recommend this place .. very welcoming.  But Ann seems like she has a lot of customers because in that period of time, she was on the phone 5 times .. amazing!  Price is good (22-27 for women, 12-16 for men) and service as well.

it was six months ago when i decided to try this place out. according to the reviews anne seemed to be the one to go to so i made and appointment to see her. even though i had made an appointment, when i got there, i still had to wait. but when she had her assistant wash my hair, it made up for the waiting. i didn't get a chance to sneak a peak at what product it was, but the shampoo and conditioner smelled and felt awesome. anyway, so anne started working and did a wonderful job creating bangs i didn't have and freshening up my layers. for a shampoo and haircut, i paid 28+tip. pretty good deal if you ask me, and i'd recommend it. although you should plan with some extra time because you never know if you'll have to wait.

Two stars because it was so easy to get in there without an appointment.

I read all the good reviews and believed it would be a good experience to try something new and close to where I would be for dinner.  No way.  First mistake, I did not ask for Ann and just had the first available person (a guy, didn't even get his name).  The biggest mistake was from the time I sat down to get my hair wash and an old customer came by and started jabbering away with everyone.  Despite the fact that it seem to be a friendly atmosphere it neglected the fact that they should pay attention to the customers IN THE SEAT not the ones standing there.  The guy cutting my hair totally didn't hear what I said and started chopping away.  Before I could stop him, it was already too late.  It's too short now.  I will have to wait a few months for it to grow out.  Which isn't going to help with a wedding I am attending next week and the main reason why I wanted to cut in the first place.

This has totally ruined my experience.  I will never go back.  Not if they pay me.
