I love the art of photography. Ever since I can remember, it's been my favorite visual art for to appreciate. I love photography galleries, I look at everyone's photos on Facebook and I love to document my family's life through photos, too. Photos can capture a mood forever; photos can evoke emotion. Photos can make you feel peaceful.
Recently, I needed a professional photo taken for my new business, The Ideal Day. And I knew just the person to call for the task - Gina DeConti at Imaginative Studios. For me, a girl who doesn't enjoy being in the spotlight or having attention focused on me, Gina was the perfect person to photograph me. She could not be sweeter in civilian life or behind the camera. She was so encouraging, validating and made me feel as though I was posing like a pro. She also had great, creative ideas about where we could photograph and what I should be wearing in the shots to get the best results. She was shooting so fast!!
So then, I got the proofs.....never in a million years did I think our shots would turn out so lovely. How did she do that so UN-obtrusively, I wondered? They had so much dimension and she turned the camera to grab all sorts of different angles and the overall effect was....I LOVED them!
Anybody who is getting married should make an appointment with Gina and go to meet with her in her fantastic urban chic studio so you can witness her work for yourself. And book her....fast....you won't be disappointed. Gina is a wonderful gem!
Gina is absolutely amazing, not only is she super talented but she's as sweet as they come. My business partner and I had some head-shots taken with Gina and we couldn't be happier with our photos! Her pictures are extremely artistic not your ordinary boring traditional photographs. I've already booked a few more sessions for my family and business!
Gina is sooo great to work with; shes is so sweet and attentive. We were absolutely impressed with her work the minute we saw it. She has such a great eye to take creative and photo journalistic shots. Plus, shes so quick !!
When she's in action, you dont even notice her. Shes respectful of whats going on and is totally unobtrusive. Yet when you do spot her, you'll notice that shes often in so many different positions to capture various angles and to give the pics more context and dimension. She really knows how to capture the subject or emotion and bring the pictures to life.

We had Gina take a few baby & family portraits for us after our little guy was born. She did a fantastic job. She was very patient but also very quick--like Marie said, when she's in action, you don't realize she's there. I was 100% thrilled with every photo that was taken.

Established in 2004
International award winning Chicago wedding photographer, Gina DeConti, founded Imaginative Studios after becoming engaged herself. She quickly realized that there was a severe need for a photography studio in the Chicago area that blended fine art, photojournalism, and fashion. She also envisioned creating a line of high end boutique albums that would be modern and ultra chic for her stylish clients. Hence Imaginative Studios was born.
Meet the Business Owner: Gina D.
Armed with a background in fine art and design and over ten years experience in the field, Gina brings an artistic eye and unique approach to each and every image. Photography and Design studies at the University of Massachusetts and The School of the Art Institute of Chicago earned her multiple Bachelor of Fine Arts degrees in Photography, Electronic Imaging, and Illustration.
Her work has been featured in publications like Photography Forum,
the International Library of Photography, The Knot, Chicago Social Brides, Brides Chicago, and ChicagoStyle Weddings. Prestigious art galleries including the New Bedford Art Museum, the Harbor Art Gallery, and the CVPA Gallery have also proudly displayed her photography. And as the founder of Females in Focus and a respected member of Professional Photographers of America (PPA) and Wedding and Portrait Photographers International (WPPI), Gina stays on top of industry innovations. It all serves to continuously bring a fresh outlook to her work.
