I have been going to Illusions for several years now and I LOVE IT! The people and bar staff are friendly and fun, and everyone there does know your name. I have never had anything less than a great time at this bar. I primarily go there on Sundays for karaoke, but I've also been there on a Saturday night for the shows. Its a fun place and the people there are awesome. I recommend it to anyone who wants some great drink specials and a good time. And, by the way, anyone is welcome there, my boyfriend and I go there regularly just for the people and the drinks. So go ahead, and have some fun!
Illusions. A WONDERFUL place to be yourself! Is what the slogan should be. i have been going to Illusions for about 3 years now. I have yet to have a bad experience. Everyone there knows me by name and is very very friendly to me and my friends. The bar tenders are awesome at what they do and know what there is to know about what they do. I have brought my straight brother up to the bar and he was welcome and had a wonderful time. yes the bathrooms could use a little work but they have always been up and working when I'm there. I am there 1 to 2 nights out of the week. I also join in drag shows there too. Illusions is my "home bar" i would much rather go there than anywhere else. I give this bar a 2 thumbs up!
I went with a large group to Club Illusions last night and we had a great time. We were there for a lesbian bachelorette party and were very welcomed. There was a Friday night drag show which was excellent and very entertaining! The bartender was very sweet and attentive, no matter if you were male or female. The atmosphere was good and the people were all very friendly. The bathrooms left a little something to be desired, but other than that the place was great. Fun times, good drinks, good drink prices, entertainment. This place had it all. Thanks for a wonderful time for sure!!
Illusions. A great place to be yourself...should read, Illusions. A Place to be someone else! Why would you go somewhere to be yourself, when the place is crawling with drag queens who obviously, AREN'T themselves! The bar staff changes more frequently than my underwear, so the disclaimer that they know all their customers by name is BULL! I went there tonight with a friend, and again, the bathrooms were out of order. The DJ (if you can call him that) was sitting at the bar getting drunk, and there were probably 6 people (counting me and my friend) in the place. The bartender never did introduce himself. According to some of the patrons, the DJ has ADD and about 1.5 minutes into any song, he switches to another song. How lame is that? The bartender got into an argument with a patron, b/c he had less than a complete 1 oz. shot in his bottle of Canadian Club and refused to make his requested drink. I've worked with TABC and I know that you're not allowed to have less than a full shot in a bottle that holds 20 to 21 shots per bottle. That means the bartender is over pouring! This place is lame and I'll be surprised if its still around 6 months from now. They're shitty to the customers, and don't understand the concept of customer service. Unless you're trash, stay away, in case someone sees you coming out of this place.

Illusions is a "place to be yourself". We are a great neighborhood bar located just off the strip in the heart of Oak Lawn. We know just about all of our customers by name, and we've never met a stranger.
We offer great music videos, female impersonation shows, charity events, and much more for every taste.
We have a dart board and pool table with a weekly pool tournament on Sunday afternoons. You'll always find some great friends and good times right here.
