At the end of the Ghost tour we asked Michelle our guide for any recommendation on a late night restaurant.  She mentioned Virginia's on first and Il Bistro.  Being that we where a few feet away from Il Bistro and hearing about this place on our ghost tour.  We decided to eat here.

The atmosphere is very warm, yet dark, with candle light settings.  To the left I observed where many say a ghost still haunts this restaurant.  Good thing we where not seated in that booth.  We had a cozy table near the bar.  We started off with the,Cozze - Penn Cove Mussels Steamed with Garlic, Fennel, Tomato Brandy Broth - 11. Wonderful starter.  Big plump meaty mussels with lots of sliced fennel stewed tomato and a very nice light brandy broth.  With some warm french bread for dipping and sopping all the yummy goodness.  Next we shared the Panzanella - Arugula and Frisee with Grilled Bread, Dried Cranberries, Goat Cheese, Champagne Fennel Vinaigrette - 8.  Another excellent dish.  This salad had warm grilled cubed bread with a light vinaigrette.  The goat cheese melted from the warm bread and the cranberries tied this dish together. Sweet, tart, tangy, warm, and crisp is what you are going to experience from this salad.  To me this spoke very Italian/Seattle fusion.  For my entree I had the Ravioli -Wild Mushroom Ravioli with Caramelized Fennel Cream, Roasted Mushrooms, Chives & Fennel Pollen - 19.  You get a large portion of meaty mushroom ravioli, the cream sauce was rich and with the sweet hint of fennel. The fennel pollen was very subtle but gave an extra floral essence to the dish.

I will definitely come back to this warm, hospitable, romantic spot.   This will be a regular restaurant once back in Seattle.

This place is tucked away underneath the market on Pike Street.  The restaurant would get five stars if only scored on ambiance.  The lighting is perfect, nice and dim.  A perfect lounge and bar area, where I sat for a while enjoying cocktails.  It was a Tuesday night so the place was just about empty.  This is actually the first time I've seen an empty dining room in Seattle, but in this weather, I guess most people are hibernating.

For food, I tried the ziti, and it was....pretty OK.  The taste was expected, but really nothing that wowed.  I can certain see myself going back, but maybe just for drinks next time.

great late happy hour located tucked away in pike place.

we tried the:
sauteed shrimp with tomato and basil
fig and cheese ravioli
goat cheese ravioli
sausage and peppers pizza (the best one of the night)

even on a rainy friday night, the ambiance of il bistro was great and made our first night in seattle a great stop.

a new bar opens everyday, cleverly mixing classic styles with something new, modern and hip.  And i love going to these places. Way to be cool, way to be in the know, but more oft that not, I (or you) don't find myself there in years to come.

Il Bistrio is not this place

Il Bistro shows up to work everyday and  still kicks your ass in classic style.  Il Bistro is exactly what you want out of a bar, downtown at 12am, round the corner a down an alley. What is that?  Cheap grub, an expertly made cocktail, a scene as casual as it is sketchy with characters that a brilliant polarity could not make up and perhaps a zine about bar life that speaks truth to power.  Il bistro is a the city, it is all that is right about walking into a great bar and cabbing it out.

I love this place -- it's definitely become my favorite dinner place before going to the symphony.  The atmosphere, the service and the food are always consistently good and the prices are reasonable.  The menu changes pretty frequently, so my favorites aren't always available, but that just means I can try something new!  The lasagna, roasted chicken and saltimbocca are always exceptional.

Very Seattle, very Pike Place, very good.

Two friends and I took advantage of the October Urban Eats special by dining at Il Bistro last night.  The exterior reminded me of the small family restaurants in Italy from trips taken long ago.  Everything was wonderful - the friendly greeting at the door, the coziness, the exemplary staff and excellent food.  I had the Caesar's salad (requested very light dressing and it was perfect), the Linguine di Mare (yum!) and Torta Cioccolato (to die for).  We had an attentive server who made sure everything came as we requested it.  With all the chatting we did, we were surprised to find over 3 hours had passed and we were still getting water glasses refilled and coffee freshened up.
I would definitely recommend this place to anyone, but will say thank goodness for Brian S and his comment about Rachel the Pig or I might never have found the restaurant because it is quite well hidden.

If you're looking for a happy hour around Pike Place, you only need to walk a few steps down Post Alley to Il Bistro. Secluded from the hubbub that is the market, this dark, cozy hideaway offers HH daily from 5 - 6:30 pm every day, and a late night HH as well.

The affordable and varied HH menu includes a range of $3 crostini, generously-sized pizzas for $8-10, $4 pasta and $3-5 glasses of vino. On a recent trip I tried the bruschetta crostini, smothered in fresh tomatoes and basil. The delicious antipasto misto included cured meat, cheese and marinated olives. And the sauteed prawns came in a tasty vermouth sauce. I only wish I had some bread to soak up the remainder of the lovely, garlicky sauce. I was pleasantly surprised by my $3 glass of Primitivo - a lovely red that complimented the garlic and tomatoes prevalent in my plates.

We received fabulous service from Iris, who kept our plates coming and our glasses full. Our happy hour was affordable and fortified us to return to the crazy market above.

We stopped by for drinks before a show on a Monday night. We sat at the bar and the bartender said, "Hey, I am trying t o keep this area clear"... Well, OK, we figured there are two empty stools in the middle of the bar and it is reserved for customers like us. I guess we were wrong. We moved to the edge of the bar, thinking he could have at least say excuse me first instead of "Hey..."

Then trying to forget the distasteful greeting we received, I ordered a White Russian. It came in a tall glass packed with small pieces of ice, which quickly melted and ruined the taste of my drink.

We asked if we could sit and sip our last drinks sitting at the tables outside. But then when we were sitting there another server came to us and said, " You know there's no service to these tables". We said, "Um OK, we'll finish our drinks and leave anyway." (Seriously, what happened to "Excuse me?")

But in a few minutes a waiter came and served the people sitting behind us. So there was service to those tables, but not to us? I don't get it...

Over all, It's a decent place but I rather not go there again.

I've been hearing nothing but good things about the happy hour at Il Bistro.  The location is fun, right in the heart of Pike Place Market.  The happy hour goes from 5:00 - 6:30 and we were there right at 5:00 as they were opening.  Sure enough, there is a wide variety of delectable dishes ranging between $2.95 to $4.95 as well as some pizzas that range between $8 - $10.  We enjoyed our $3 glasses of wine very much...though in my opinion, you can't really get a bad pinot grigio.  I had the seared calamari in a spicy marinara sauce which was delicious, and health-conscious!  The interior is charming and warm, and I can see how they have been regarded as one of the more romantic dining areas in downtown Seattle.

I have been to Il Bistro for happy hour three times in the last month or so, and I think this place is generally good but not entirely consistent. Very easy on the wallet during HH, though, so that's a big plus.

HH plates are priced at $2.95, $3.95, and $4.95 with three pizza options ranging from $8-10. Of course it depends on your appetite, but I find I'm able to get my fill of Italian cuisine for less than $12, choosing one dish from each price tier. The Caesar salad is unremarkable, and I actually prefer the simple Insalata Verde dressed with balsamic and Gorgonzola. It's a toss-up for me between the Mushroom Ravioli and Rigatoni Bolognese, as both are good if prepared and presented properly...on my last visit, the Mushroom Ravioli arrived cold, which wasn't a plus. The Sauteed Prawns are tasty if not a little sparse, and I've found the Seared Calimari to be hit-or-miss. On one occasion it was packed with flavor, on another visit, lacking in zest and salt. I would strongly encourage any patron to spring for the $2 side of bread, as it's super for sopping up Il Bistro's tasty sauces. Don't be scared of the low $3 price tag for Il Bistro's pinot grigio, as it's really quite good and a hearty pour.

My experience with the Il Bistro staff is that they are perfectly nice, but they could use a few more bodies in the bar area. On my last visit, they were woefully understaffed on an early Thursday evening, and our poor server was being run ragged. We found ourselves having to request items 2 and 3 times, and some things just plain never arrived. I can't fault our hard-working waitress, because she was clearly hustling from one table to the next. I hope the management takes note...!

This is, hands down, the best restaurant I've ever been to.  It looks like the reviews are mixed because of the quality of service, but I have no complaints.  Our waiter was very courteous, helpful, and attentive.

To start, this place has an AMAZING ambience.  It's hidden away below Pike's; the low, red lights give off a romantic vibe; jazzy music is playing at a good volume; and everyone seems to enjoy themselves.  Like others have said before me, I felt like I was in an underground speakeasy--and a beautiful one at that.

The food:  We started with the bruschetta and the insalata spinaci.  For dinner, I had the lasagne and my girlfriend had the rigatoni.  Everything was spectacular.  I grew up eating my mom's homemade lasagne and spaghetti, but Il Bistro's lasagne is probably the best I've ever eaten.  The produce was all very fresh and flavorful too.

Highly recommended!

Exquisite dishes with beautiful presentation and lovely setting.

Located and hidden under the Pike Place Market, this is a hard yet unique find.

The restaurant is dimly lit and very classy.  Perfect for a dinner date! The place is a bit formal, but no need for full on suits.

The steaks are tender and the staff is attentive.

You will be emptying out your pockets for a dinner here, but it is a must try!!

Went there for HH.

Server was very good.  Pizza was all doughy bread and cheese with very few toppings.  Rigatoni was fair.  Sicilian wine was lame.

i'd give 4 1/2, if they let me .... This place was a little bit hard to find, but a very nice valet outside of pike place market pointed us directly to it. Nice inside. We were greeted by 2 very attentive people and given a very nice table near the bar. Bar was a bit noisy, but not a distraction. Our server was excellent. Should have gotten his name so i can give him props. I ordered the Caprese salad, which was the best I'd ever had. The heirloom tomatoes were excellent, seasoned very well, and the olive oil was fantastic. Both my dining partner and I ordered a special of Halibut served over some potato hash with pancetta. The fish was cooked perfectly, and the flavors on the plate were exceptional. I chose this restaurant ahead of my trip based on Yelp reviews. Glad I did.

IL Bistro might be a pain to find, and lack the view of the water that most PP fine dining establishments offer, but it is one hot date spot. You don't need a view of  water when you have a candle-lit view of your date, right? The small, dark-ish, quiet, intimate setting is so romantic, it's sure to impress! The service was what you would expect-- quite formal but attentive. The food was not spectacular, but I would return. My mushroom ravioli ($19) lacked flavor with the stuffing, but the cream sauce was excellent. Boyfriend enjoyed his ziti al forno ($19) although he can't seem to match ziti he found in Albany, so he has high standards.

In all, a great time. Highly recommended for adults, leave the kiddos with a babysitter.

With so many new restaurants to eat at, it's easy to overlook the great standards of Seattle and this includes il Bistro. This is a perfect Italian restaurant. A bit shabby in the decor, but crisp and clean in the linen. The food is classic Italian and done very well. We started with a shrimp appetizer, good, not great (wish we would have ordered the mussels). Then two different spinach salads - tasty. Main courses were the daily special featuring linguine with chantrelle mushrooms - pasta was fresh and cooked perfectly; and rigatoni with bolognese sauce - veal and lamb enriched tomato sauce which was excellent. We finished the meal with tiramisu (too much marscapone for our tastes) and vin santo (would have liked a biscotti to dip).

Good service, not rushed. Wines by the glass were very good. We had difficulty deciding what to order -- needless to say -- we will be back.

Park me amongst the other reviewers offering praise to Il Bistro.

Recently had The Girl's 30th birthday party here and everything was perfect. Literally everything.

Even the guy who took my reservation a month ago was ridiculously personable- I never once felt like something was going to go wrong here. Even when I walked into the place at 11pm the night before the reservation to change the start time they were cool. Not one scoff, not one rolled eye- and let's face it, I was pretty lit by that point- they called me "Sir" and said they couldn't wait to have us.

The reservation was for 8 and they prepared a great table in the middle of the room- when The Girl was audibly pleased with the location of the table, the host said to her, "It's the birthday of a beautiful woman, everyone should be looking at you tonight..."

Even I was flattered.

The food, the service, the atmosphere, the surroundings- really, just top notch. A couple of folks at the table weren't so thrilled with their main courses, but I was knocked out.

And let's also call out the bill- just under $400.00 for 8 people...I was ready for something far more expensive than that- 8 people, food and drinks for that price in a place of that ilk is just fantastic.

I can't wait to get back to this joint for a romantic evening- they have a few tables outside right in the market- on a nice night, watching everyone walking by, with that level of food and service- I'm telling you, you can't miss with this joint.

Dark and oozing cool, Il Bistro feels like a flashback to an alternate reality when Seattle was a swanky city filled with mobsters and molls.

The food was excellent.  The calamari and carpaccio were great starters and the panzanella salad hit the spot.  The salmon was perfectly prepared, rich and just plain scrumptious.

Service was knowledgeable, personable and attentive.

The regular menu at IL Bistro is great, and the atmosphere certainly deserves all the romantic accolades it wins. If you are coming in for dinner, be sure to ask about the nightly special. They had Copper River Salmon special last year that was so good, I had it three nights in a row. Wine list and cocktails are pretty standard here, so find a old favorite and slug it down!!

The thing that sets IL Bistro apart for me is their Happy Hour. One of the best around to be sure, plus served on the weekends until 1am!! If you are looking for a place to come and get great food to sober up, look no further!!

Okay let me begin by saying that I used to work here back in the day, I just turned 18 and I worked there as a busser for two and a half years 2004-2006.  I just wanted to point that out, just because of that little fact doesn't mean I'm gonna be biased negatively or positively.  I'm a hardcore foodie because food is not just a neccesity for me, it's a way of life.

Let me say that this place is as solid as a rock in Seattle (It's been open for over 30 years) but that doesn't mean that it's always been consistent, as a matter of fact it was downright mediocre (Only because the old chef didn't quite pull it off compared to it's previous majesty of simple-cut flavors) for about one and a half years until recent changes in the past few months.  It was so mediocre that 20+ year regulars felt adamant of coming back.  However, recently all of that changed,  simple presentations followed by outstanding well-balanced flavors are back on the everyday menu!

The Risotto Dil Giorno (Risotto of the Day) is always amazing, everyday is different prep but I highly recommend the one I had tonight. Rissotto with sauteed mushroms, spinach, pickled radish, caramelized onions and grilled chicken breast. The only problem I have with the rissotto at this place is that is a huge portion, entree size.  Risotto is so filling that in Italian tradition is served as either a side dish or an accompinament to any beef, lamb, poultry or pork entree. Putting that aside I loved it so much that I wasn't disappointed when all I could eat after that were the lamb chops (Perfectly cooked)

The food is not the only reason to come in though.  The lounge is an atmospheric utopia, all that's missing in there are cuban cigars.  They have over 50 kinds of scotches, I'm mainly a bourbon or gin lover and the ocasisonal jager shot! (you can hate if u want but I got taste and sensibility) old wooden floors, great staff (all my buddies) and super good late night happy hour true Napolitan pizzas.  I give it 4 stars instead of five beacuse I don't want to jeopardize my cred as a true food and ambiance combo lover.  Otherwise I would be a bit biased :) (Happy Nick?) I LOVE THIS PLACE AND HIGLY RECOMMEND IT!

I have not eaten here so this review only applies to the bar. This was my first time here. Very cool, dimly lit, kind of a romantic place for a drink. All good. But my complaint is about their drink prices. We ordered 2 glasses of Bernard Griffin chardonnay (WA). This is a fairly low-end wine that you can get at Safeway for $9 a bottle. They were charging $8 a glass. I'm not cheap, but think that's a rip-off. For a medium end wine yes. For that wine? Definitely not.

Great ambiance and great service! As mentioned by another reviewer, the caprese salad was the best I've ever had. Cheers to the chef for finding the most ripe, juicy and sweet heirloom tomatoes I've ever had. They were also giant sized beefsteak-like! Yummmm! The mozarella was also very fresh. I ordered the mushroom risotto, and the risotto seemed watery and undercooked. The mushrooms were fresh, but undercooked and lacked seasoning/flavor.  I'd probably go back to try other menu items, or just for the caprese! We did ask our waiter to call a cab 3 times before they actually did, but service was great otherwise!

I have had mixed experiences with Il Bistro.  The first time, was with a group of girlfriends dressed up for a night out.  We stopped for drinks and had great service from the bartender, great recommendations for drinks, and great conversations with people at the bar.
A few weeks later, in a downpour, my 'friend' and I stumbled out of the rain hoping to have dinner.  It was a Saturday around 6, but the place was completely empty.  We were asked if we had reservations, and said no.  The hostess paused, left, and came back, and told us no tables were available and to come back in an hour if we still wanted to have dinner. Completely turned off, we left and didn't come back.  They didn't mention a party, and we were the ONLY ones in the dining area - so all I can conclude is our drenched rain jackets wasn't what they were wanting in their dining room.
A few months later, we returned for a friends birthday, and it was ok.
There are far too many better restaurants in Seattle (and Italian for that matter) that provide better service that I have no need to return for that attitude.

Spotty service. We went on a weeknight and it took them a minute to notice us at the front door.

Everything went smoothly through the course. The food was meh. It was delicious, but it wasn't go-in-my-pants orgasmic either.

No one saw to our exit so we waited around to have someone get our coats for us. After a couple minutes with people sitting around the bar and workers nowhere to be seen, I just walked around the counter and gathered our belongings up myself. There was a nice coat that I could easily have snagged myself, but considering the chilly weather that night, I gave the person a break. :)

Overall, food was good, service was spotty...won't come here for a while. Especially a weeknight.

Il Bistro is pretty good for dinner, and great for happy hour.  Their extremely-well-priced Happy Hour menu is my favorite in Seattle--especially the Bolognese!  The bar area is pretty cool as well, and is a nice place to chat with a 3-8 person group later at night.

I'd give them 5 stars if they still carried Mannys. :)

Great place in an unassuming location wedged between the south entrance to the market and the Post Alley.  They have a GREAT happy hour menu that is totally affordable (and available twice during the night), and pour great drinks at the bar.  Nice ambiance that is conducive to both a first-time date, a business lunch, late night drinks, a casual lunch or even a formal dinner.  The food was good, though I've only tried a handful of dishes.  The carpaccio was excellent--I was jealous of my date's meal!

All told, this a great little spot that is so unassuming that it goes overlooked regularly.  I highly recommend this place!

Il Bistro is hands down one of my favorite HH places.  I've never actually eaten a regular dinner there.  The HH food is so good, why ruin it by trying to get fancy?

The atmosphere is one of the best around.  Since it's tucked away in the corner of the market, it is quiet and cozy.  Very welcoming and comfortable.

The ravioli with the fennel cream sauce is to die for.  I'm usually with a few friends and we always get 2 orders of it.  The lasagna is fantastic.  Moist and creamy, mmmm it just melts away on your tastbuds.

If you are in Seattle or have friends visiting, when you take the tour through the market, plan to have some outstanding food and drinks at Il Bistro.  You won't regret it.  If you live in Seattle and you haven't been there you are seriously missing out.

Nice atmosphere, charming location, good food, good service, a really nice all-around experience.  It didn't quite reach that holy grail of five stars, but it was really good.

We sat in the bar while we waited for our table and ate the most fantastic calamari I have ever eaten.  The staff was very nice about letting us move our tab and take our Pellegrino with us to the dinner table.

We had linguine with mussels, which I recommend, and the lasagna, which was amazing.  Dessert, too, was fab.

The atmosphere is very chic and comfortable, lends very well to a romantic occasion. One couple behind us was making out the whole time... and they were married!  My only complaint is that it is a small space with hardwood floors, so you can easily hear the conversations around you. We sat next to a group of boisterous germans arguing about politics and it detracted from our experience.

The service was excellent. I was *very* impressed that when I asked the waiter for a wine pairing to match my entree he recommended a very modestly-priced glass that was actually a very good match, rather than automatically recommending a ridiculously expensive selection that may or may not be a great match, as I've found a lot restaurant waiters and sommeliers will do.

I live in Seattle and have a friend in town. We went to Il Bistro thanks to a recommendation from a friend. I'd heard of it but I had never been so my expectations were not too high.

We walked in and were greeted at the door by very friendly staff. We sat at the bar to enjoy Happy Hour and some cocktails and were then greeted by a friendly bartender.

My friend was in the mood for scotch and the bartender gave him several great recommendations. In fact, for every 1 or two drinks he ordered, he got to taste a small sample of another type of scotch. (all while fresh ice water was in constant flow thanks to the watchful and competent waitress).  Because of his generosity, the bartender saved my friend from ordering more drinks because the samples were so generous. It was almost too good to be true! Not only was he generous but he was extremely knowledgeable. (I've never been so impressed).

After making small talk with the bartender (and eating DELICIOUS happy hour food) for a good hour or two we left the bar to go dancing. After some more drinks elsewhere we decided to go back to Il Bistro just a few hours later to have some more drinks. Our experience there was so good that we thought we'd pop back in before closing.

We were greeted by the same bartender who remembered us from earlier. Before we even had a chance to order he gave us some samples of cocktails we were speaking about in our conversation hours before. It was really cool that he'd remembered not just our faces but our drink preferences. (again - he offered us great samples and suggestions).

At the end of the night we were so thankful for his great service that we asked for his work schedule. I'm definitely going back!

Wonderfully cozy evening out. The Sopressata salad was an incredibly fresh and delicious mix of shaved fennel, apple, micro greens, and a white balsamic vinegar dressing. It came with toasted french bread topped with melted goat cheese...yum.

I finished with the pear and Gorgonzola ravioli. Another hit. I didn't even want to grab a mint from the host stand on the way out. I wanted to let the flavors linger for as long as possible!

I'd love to go back! (hint, hint)

You have got to respect that this place is in the market, which is frankly, why we happened in.  Just had never been, always walked by.  I actually repeated that story to the owner as we conversed at the bar.  The place has got a great feel.  I was concerned that it would feel all touristy and the like, but not so.

We sat at the bar sampling the scotches and enjoying the, frankly, perfect Manhattan's waiting out the late night happy hour (11pm on the weekend, 10pm weekdays, as well as 5p to 6:30p), for really cheap but really good Italian tastes.  Great look to it as well, cold but cosy.

If you've never been, stop in, you'll be glad you did.  Good for 4 or less though, at least in the bar, not much space for a big group.

Very very easy to miss this place.
Located under the Pike Market, this place reminds you of the place italaian gangster used to meet in the 40s.
Cobbled street with a incline gives u a mysterious feel.

For the food, I tried their Roasted Duck. I think it was pretty good. My friend tried their Special of the night which was something in Chicken.
Wont mind to go there again.

Let me end it by saying that the place is a little pricey. Cant be your casual dining place.

A great night out!

It's always exciting to find a new place in town that just does it right.  Everyone at my table enjoyed their food immensely.  The carbonara that I had was perfect.  One of my friend's got the scallops and we all agreed that they were excellent.  The dessert was also fantastic. The highlight of which was the tiramisu.  Definitely something you should try when you go there.

The only complaint we had was that we were seated right near the door, so the draft that crept in was cooled us down a few too many times.

All in all, someplace we will definitely go back to again and hopefully soon.

I love Il Bistro. I love it on a 1st date. I love it after work. I love it late night talking w/ best friends in the bar.

My favorite is to hang out in the bar, sharing an appetizer and having some wine the bartenders have suggested. They are so friendly, and will offer up some amazing cocktails to you.  Even though it is tucked right below where they throw around the fish at the Market, it is definitely not a touristy-type place.  Go with your friends and enjoy a little secret spot & then head out to have a cocktail at the Alibi Room. Perfect evening!

I love this place.

Located deep in a tourist district it is a locals only spot that somehow is able to be ignored by the masses.

Great Bar, wonderfully romantic and the food is superb.

I finally got to go here for my birthday last year after years of walking by the red lit dining room just passing through the market or checking out Theatersports. We tried one of every course, from appetizers to desert and everything was absolutely delicious. I've never been to Italy (yet) so I can honestly say that this is the best Italian food I've ever had. The amount of garlic on the prawn appetizer was overpowering and perfect, the reduction served with the veal balanced both the meat and the caper berries excellently. The kicker is the flour less chocolate torte with raspberry sauce and a little bit of cream. If that isn't the best cake I've ever had I don't know what is.

The wait staff is really nice and did a great job explaining things on the menu, especially the extensive wine selection. I've been back since that night and tried the veal lasagna which was equally as good. You really can't go wrong here. The ambiance certainly has a certain je ne sais quoi: its quite simple with lots of white and wooden chairs but when the sun goes down and the smells are in the air there's nothing better.

Go on Thursday night for some rad Salsa! You don't have to dance and it's real fun to watch. Watch your nose, those heels kick high!

Love the food, atmosphere, and wine. They don't turn people away at the door for dressing down a bit which I greatly appreciate and the staff is pro. I want to be comfortable AND eat good food.

It isn't cheap, but is great for a special occasion.

The food is alright. Nothing to write home about but the location is absolutely enchanting. It embodies the romantic atmosphere that Seattle has to offer if you look hard enough. Nestled in Pike Place Market right under the "fish-throwing" corner, an Italian restaurant exists, featured in many movies, offering ambiance and class lost in so many places these days.

I recommend this as your starting point for the evening. Escort your friends to the bar and enjoy their fine selection of wines and spirits at the well positioned bar. Talk, laugh, drink, then when hunger has set, pay your bill and head elsewhere. If you've done more drinking than talking or laughing, stay and enjoy Il Bistro's array of Tuscan offerings.

Great figuratively ILL place to dine. The ambiance encompasses the character of the market with a touch of Italian romance. If you need a date place, look no further. Your date will think your ILLin and a castlehova.

The food is great. I love the veal Lasagna and the gnocchi. The mean Manhattan was a perfect compliment. Maybe next payday I can upgrade to an Entree'.

Disclosure - Don't expect olive oil and vinegar with your bread.
