This place was cute and staffed by friendly workers. I met the owner and she was extremely hospitable to me and my group of friends. She cut out templates to assist people with their designs and offered help any way she could. Also, because she was staying late there that night anyways, she allowed me and my friends to stay later to finish our pieces too. (Don't bet on that happening all the time though).
There were plenty of good brushes to use, great music, variety of paints and a clean restroom. I would recommend this place, hands down!
There is metered parking nearby but if you park on the street in the nearby neighborhoods, it is free! I will be doing that next time. -

Our wonderful bride wanted to do something unique and fun to start out her bachelorette party, so us bridesmaids hosted a pottery painting party at If An Elephant Can Paint. We rented out the space which was perfect for what we needed. Miss Vickie and the other girls did a fabulous job at helping us with whatever we needed, especially when it came to adding those personal touches to our pieces that weren't so easy! They did such a great job at making us feel welcome and comfortable. Everyone was so happy with their final products and we all plan on going back and trying our hand at a new piece!

Whoever said adults couldn't have fun in a place like this?!?!
I surprised my boyfriend (yes we are cheesy) by taking him to this place for an afternoon of art, fun, and wine. Another couple joined us for the action. By the end of the afternoon both of the guys seemed more enthused about the whole experience then the girls!
Vicki is such a wonderful hostess and is incredibly helpful and enthusiastic. There is such a wide selection of pottery to choose from whether its christmas ornaments, plates, vases, or wine and beer glasses. The color selection seems to go on forever and there is plenty of space to move around. I felt the items and studio fee seemed very fair.
We enjoyed ourselves so much we are planning to have our group holiday party there!
Thanks again to Vicki and the other staff for making our first time such a positive experience. -

Great prices! Laid back fun! I took my niece here and she loved that she has such a large selection of ceramics to choose from and a ecletic mix of colors to use too.
Will be back there soon! -

Went here for a friend's birthday on Friday and had a great time! It's not just for kids! They let you bring food and wine and we made a fun night out of it before heading to the bar. The people that work there are very helpful too, they explain how to make your piece turn out right and give you some tips and techniques.
We'll see how nice mine turns out, but either way we had a super time! -

This is a really fun store, and you get to do something fairly (if not totally) unique.
We've gone here a few times, to do "grandparent" projects. For my first child we did handprints on a plate, and we just went back for my second child and this time we did footprints.
Both times the staff was very helpful. I see that Charlie had a bad experience, so I'm surprised and sorry to hear that. What I like is that they answer your questions, give advice, but they let you do the work. I think that's what makes your pieces so special - you make them yourselves.
It is a bit on the pricey side, but I do believe it to be very reasonable for a every so often type of thing.
You basically go in, find a blank (white) piece of clay such as plates, cups, mugs, banks, figurines, etc. Then you use a variety of sponges, stamps, brushes, fingers, whatevers to apply a glaze or paint onto the object in whatever way you can. You are only limited by your imagination.
Once you are done they fire the piece and about a week later you can come back to pick up your piece.
They do charge you a flat studio rate for the paints, brushes, etc. that you use, and then you pay for the pieces themselves.
The first time we went they turned out great, and I'm really looking forward to seeing how the next set turn out.
Vicky was VERY helpful - I doubt we would have had a decent set of footprints without her assistance.
It's a great time going there, and when you are done you've made something that you just can't get anywhere else and is truly yours. -

Love, love LOVED IT! Vicky is SO nice and helpful, had a great time. Very reasonably priced. My piece was done in three days, instead of the seven to ten it states on their website. I was so happy with my experience and I will definitely be back!

This place is great! I've taken 2 meetup groups here, and everyone had a blast. So far I've made a dinner serving plate, a margarita glass, and a bowl I use for dip. I've gotten very good at creating cool looking designs. Look around at some of the stuff on display and use for inspiration!

I've been coming here for years. I have never had a problem with any of the staff, finding everyone helpful. There are plenty of projects to choose from depending on whatever level of difficulty you want with many customization options. I always feel like I'm in the middle of a great family gathering when I come in.

My daughter went here for a birthday party and really enjoyed it. I concur with a previous poster, in that places like this are great, because when you're doing art you feel like a kid again.

I would give 5 stars, as the staff ~ when you are there ~ are super helpful (IF they're not eating), but I have left messages in the past when they did not answer the phone during store hours and the message never returned. My last message was due to the fact that their outgoing message was that they might be open, but might not (although the date they gave was a week earlier). Since I was not sure they'd be open and didn't want to come for no reason, I asked them to call back. Just realized that not only did they not call back but due to their set hours I will not be able to get the Valentine gift my children made their dad until after VDay. IRRITATING.

I love stores like this because they allow you to express yourself! It's fun to be able to design your own creations. Kids and adults will get a kick out doing it, and it makes for a special little gift item. It's really nice to show someone you care enough to give them a personalized present for their birthday or special event.

I recently went to If An Elephant Can Paint, and was somewhat disturbed by how they treated my friend and me. First of all, they never offered to help us with our projects, not even once, and when we asked for help they seemed annoyed. Also, they scurried us out of there, by giving us our bills... before we were even finished. It's also extremely expensive for some pretty corny pottery (for ex. Finding Nemo piggy banks). I honestly would not recommend coming here if you're in the need for an enjoyable, relaxing day.
