WOW. (enough said)
No? not enough? okay fine. I'll go into detail
I thought I knew what good dessert tasted like until i had cake from Icing on the Cake. I was on a strict, say no to "dessert if its not worth the calories" month. My colleague brought some over, so a gal and I split a slice. What ended up happening? We went back to get a second slice.
Since then, I've had their pumpkin cake, red velvet and the banana cake, needless to say, all the cakes are AMAZING tasting. Although my favorite is still the banana cake. The cakes are moist but the texture isn't mushy and their topped with a smooth cream cheese icing.
We order from Icing on the Cake any chance we get.. I originally thought there was not parking, but right across the street, there is a small lot, so it tends to get filled.
Word of advice. If you are planning to order a cake for an event, please call them 48 hours in advance to make sure they are able to accommodate you.
Icing on the Cake.. you have become my #1 go to cupcake / cake place. -

This is a review for the wedding cake tasting. Here were some of the pros and cons I had with them.
Pros:
- Best red velvet out of all the places I tried (out of four)
- Five stars for the banana cake!
- The vanilla with the berry cream filling tasted exactly like strawberry ice cream
Cons:
- Charged for each cake you were tasting (if you go with them, they take it off the price)
- Delivered within a certain number of miles (someone would have to pick up the cake)
- They don't do fondant, only buttercream decorations.
- They had no formal tasting area so you couldn't really have a conversation with the decorator without customers coming in and out of the bakery
- They were pretty pricey
I think they are a fabulous bakery with hundreds of delicious goodies. I'll just go to them for my sugar craving needs, and not for my wedding cake.Comment from Lynn M. of Icing on the Cake 1/24/2012

Icing on the cake did my 2 tier wedding cake, as well as my 160 cupcakes for my wedding. My biggest gripe is they don't deliver everywhere. My wedding was at Byington Winery, and the road is bad and I do understand that. But on the morning of the wedding my dad had to drive pick them up at the winery, and drive them up, which is a bit of a pain the day your daughter is getting married!
I ordered 15 different flavors of cupcakes, I don't like the idea of having a cake since it is only one flavor, and lots of people don't like what the bride and groom always pick. Everyone loved the different flavors, and people still asking where I got the cupcakes.
Great tasting, great service (although you have to pay to cake test for you wedding) I had been there enough so i didn't cake taste... waste of money. The people I talked to were very helpful, they even put on little green and purple fondant toppers on the cupcakes free of charge.
So Overall happy with their wedding services minus the delivery!! Since they didn't deliver there!Comment from Lynn M. of Icing on the Cake 1/19/2012

Really cute store. They sell little knick knacks and handmade stuff as well. I got the red velvet and the caramel cupcake. The red velvet was really really moist. Like as soon as I started peeling the paper back it was falling apart moist. Their cupcakes are a pretty good size too. One of them and I was full!!!

Oh My GOSH. First time here and it is this magical, cute little shop. They have so much to chose from that I literally had to take my time, I am on this "diet", so I took my time and the girls working were so patient and helpful for a newbie like me. They have cupcakes, cookies, I highly recommend "Half Top" because it is so yummy and sooooooo soft and sooooo moist, my girlfriend bought her son a triple chocolate cookie and we ate half of it, so good, and I did get the brownie with the buttercream sandwiched in between and did not love it.
They do have some "healthy" stuff like walnut bread or something.
Too bad this place is not closer to ME! Because I would gladly forget this whole "diet" thing ;) -

I thought I knew good dessert...and then I discovered Icing on the Cake, a bakery that fits in perfectly with the cute & classy Los Gatos landscape. My family and I used their cakes, pies and cupcakes for Thanksgiving dessert and it blew me (and all our guests) away. We ordered a pumpkin pie with cream cheese frosting, chocolate Cupcakes, apple pie and pumpkin pie.
The pumpkin pie/cheesecake hybrid was my absolute favorite, neither flavor was too strong so it tasted perfect. Unlike the over-the-top sweetness of Sprinkle's cream cheese frosting, this cream cheese frosting had just the right balance of sweetness and creaminess. Plus, they also personalized the cake with "Happy Thanksgiving". Cute. And the cake part of the chocolate cupcakes tasted actually fresh and moist, unlike the crumbly, dry cake I've experienced in nearly every other cupcake before. Not to mention perfectly sweet as well.
One star off because it is a tad expensive, but otherwise definitely worth the price for special occassions.Listed in: Sweet treats I like to eat., Oh You Fancy, Huh?

I dropped by today with my daughter Noelle and my cousin Glen and his girlfriend Suzie (they're visiting from Arizona). After our lunch at Paxti's at the Pruneyard in Campbell, we had to get something sweet for dessert before their long drive to Elk Grove. Plus I wanted to check out their Christmas decor items as well.
When we walked in, a delectable banana bread scent greeted us! The bakery was decked out, as usual, with an assortment of baked goods and decor. While Noelle, Glen and Suzie were checking out the baked goods, I was checking out the decor items on the right side of the store. Christmas stockings, Santa Claus figurines of all shapes and sizes, bowls, plates and pitchers in an array of colors as well as banners heralding "Happy birthday!" flooded my vision. I ended up with a Christmas gift for a dear friend who is sure to enjoy my special find today.
Turning back to the bakery, Noelle said she was treating and wanted us to pick our dessert item. I love the dried cherry and chocolate chip combo cookie though the snickerdoodle is a close second! Or should I try a slice of German Chocolate cake or banana cake? The devil is in the details here as it's so hard to choose....
If you haven't been to this bakery, stop what you are doing and drive there now!
*Thanks for the yummy dessert treat Noelle!*Listed in: Los Gatos, CA - The Cat's…

I literally took a bite out of heaven when biting into their Red Velvet cake.
Called in to place a birthday cake order blindly, pretty much just going on the reviews here on Yelp (one by a fellow yelper, Tram N. - thank you!!).
Their Red Velvet Cake was the perfect way to top off my daughter's birthday party. The cake and cream cheese filling were of equal consistency both very flavorful and mouth-watering. You also didn't get the feeling that you needed to drink some milk to help wash it all down. The decor of the cake was cute, simple and just what I expected as we added a few little toppers my daughter wanted to accompany her cake. They had tons of dessert items, baked goods, cookies and crafts. More reason for us to make our way back into this delightful bakery.
I'm glad I took the nose-dive. Their staff on the phone when I placed my order and when I picked up the cake was pleasant, welcoming and very accommodating. The bakery is conveniently located along Main Street which made it real easy to find. It is a busy street with parking few and far in between, but there is parking behind the bakery.Listed in: Looksie! Los Gatos

OK seriously...what is this place? Sugar heaven? A bakery on steroids? A die hard sweet toother's kryptonite? Candyland? Try...all of the above! And they say sweet shops are only for kids. Pfft.
I'll admit, I was a bit overwhelmed by the huge tower of cupcakes, the showcase of individually wrapped slices of loaf cakes, countless piles of cookies, muffins, and croissants, and the best part, homemade frosting to go! To be more specific - almond buttercream frosting.
There's plenty of bakers to assist you with packing up a boxful of delights to take home. I had no idea where to start, so I just pointed at everything that caught my attention. Unknowingly racking up quite a massive assortment of sweets, I had to call it quits at some point, so I refrained from getting the cupcakes. A difficult decision that took a lot of self-convincing, but necessary. Andes Mint chip cupcake, I'm coming back for you.
I can't remember exactly everything I bought, only that it was all so mind-blowing delicious. We ate so fast, I couldn't even take a picture. Surprisingly, my favorite was the slice of almond poppyseed loaf cake. Soaked in buttery richness, this soared to the top of my list as a potential future wedding cake. If Schubert's in SF is unable to make a multi-tiered Swedish princess cake, Icing On The Cake will totally be my go-to bakery! I am not leaving without an entire loaf on my next visit.
Prices can be a tad expensive, but you truly get what you pay for here, which is sweet, heavenly goodness. -

I've been here 3 times over the last few years, including recently.
Every time I walk in excited because everything looks so tasty and there are so many attractive options. Yet all three times when I tasted the goodies, they looked better than they tasted.
Banana walnut bread - bit dry and I didn't like the sweet crusty frosting on top. I think Starbucks has tastier banana nut bread.
Corn bread - ok, bit dry, also looked better than it tasted
Red velvet cupcake - ok, but didn't taste much red velvet choc-vanilla flavor
The first 2 times I thought I must have just caught them on an off day. But third time confirmed it.
Bottom line: I so want to like you, but after three disappointing dates, you're all talk and no action.Comment from Lynn M. of Icing on the Cake 11/13/2011

This place has one of the best cakes I have ever had. The banana cake with buttercream frosting is truly to die for. I haven't had many other things from this bakery because that banana cake is so good, but everything is pretty tasty. Definitely experience this place if you are in the area.

This place comes with a high price tag but it's worth it for a special treat. WHen my two year old was having a hard time adjusting to preschool this place was a nice place to stop by after I picked him up. They often have day-old cookies for reasonable prices and that's what he gets...I have a sweet tooth so I go for the big-top cookies. The cakes are great and the cupcakes are to die for. YOU MUST COME HERE!

Can't beat the cakes. My sons love the chocolate cake, but for bridal showers and girl parties the lemon poppyseed cake is absolutely perfect.
The cupcake selection is awesome, get their early for the more unique flavors. They have a bordeaux cupcake that tastes just like the See's candy.

Banana cake is totally awesome!
Walking into the bakery you'll immediately notice the sweetness in the air. It's almost as if they're throwing sugar in the air and letting it rain!
The staff is really helpful and friendly. I let one of them know that it was my first time there and asked what their most popular item was. She said it was the banana cake. I didn't want to leave with just one cake, so I went looking into the case and was admiring their cookies.
I went for the dee-luxe cookie and it was dee-frickin-licious. It's like a combination of a few cookies into one. It was like joining a white chocolate macadamia nut cookie with oatmeal raisin cookie and chocolate chip cookie. There might have been other stuff, but I can't remember. I just remember when I bit into the cookie, my taste buds thanked me for this morsel of goodness.
Will have to come back to try other things, but I'll probably pick up a slice of banana cake and another cookie while I'm at it. -

This is my favorite bakery in the Bay Area. It is like walking into a childhood fantasy. The cookies are quite possibly the best I've ever had. The chocolate cherry chunk defy description. Oatmeal butterscotch are also heavenly, as are their cupcakes.

I am not a sweets person and I am not a cake person, but I was tasked with finding a bakery that can make a good chocolate on chocolate cake for my father in law's 70th birthday. I should mention my husband "pretty pleased" this task to me about 4 days before the actual party so a lot of bakeries were already booked. One of the bakeries I called recommended Icing on the Cake.
Pricing - for a half sheet cake with decorations they were in the ballpark with everyone else I called, so pricing was average.
Cake - I was concerned with it being overly sweet (which is pretty much a guarantee with this combo) and they suggested raspberry sauce to breakdown the sweetness. A lot of the guests commented to us how good that was and how the cake while sweet was not super overly sweet and very delicious.
Decorations - I requested their artist to do a special cake decoration to reflect my FIL's hobby and they did a great job. It was beautiful and edible (buttercream not fondant). Everyone was very impressed.
We were very happy with Icing on the Cake, and I would definitely think of them first whenever we need a special occasion cake. -

You must go here! I am not sure if I'm drawn to this place more for the cute, quaint ambiance or the deliriously delicious smell that swirls from the shoppe when you walk by. Everything I've had here is amazing. Huge hit for birthday gifts and treats to bring for a dinner party. The cupcake flavors are inventive and nostalgic (they even have a re-creation of the hostess swirl cakes and Neapolitan ice cream). Their breads, bars, and cookies taste like they came right out of mom's oven. The people there are as sweet as the cakes and happy to recommend some crowd favorites! They even have kitschy gifts and cards which are worth a look. Be warned those who are watching the waistline: you WILL want everything. Choose wisely :)

I love almost everything at this little bakery! Definitely one of my favorites
The banana bread is delicious, all of the pound cakes especially the almond pound cake is amazing.
The cupcakes have a little too much frosting for my taste but that is my only negative critique of the entire selection at this bakery!
They have something for everyone and chances are they do it better -

I've been to Icing on the Cake to buy a cake and cupcakes for two separate birthdays. I only tried the peanut butter cupcake which was awesome during the first bite but by the third, I had a sugar headache. It was too sweet to finish. It's a nibble on it and put it away for later kind of cupcake.
Today I bought a German Chocolate cake for my sister's birthday. If you are looking for super authentic, don't come here. If you are looking for something light, fluffy and full of flavor, then I highly recommend it. I really liked that it wasn't overly sweet and the flavors could really be savored without being punched in the head with a sugar headache. The texture was nice. I'd definitely buy a cake from Icing on the Cake again!Listed in: Sweet Tooth

I bought some carrot cake from Icing on the Cake today and it is divine. The cake is moist, nutty and has great flavor. The that somewhat bugged me was that I felt there were a bit too many raisins in it, but then again, I'm not that big of a fan of raisins so take that with a grain of salt. It's delicious regardless, and I would buy it again without hesitation and recommend it to others.
When I went into the store I was amazed at the amount of baked goods that they have ready for sale, as I was expecting it to be more of a pre-order type place. However, I think that's a great thing for indecisive people like me.
Service was also great as they gladly gave out recommendations on what they thought was good, but without any pressure for me to buy anything. They were very patient as I slowly selected what I wanted.
All in all I'd gladly recommend Icing on the Cake to anyone for their dessert or special occasion needs. I think they are an asset to the community and I will without a doubt be back. -

A friend visited and brought us a dozen cupcakes and also a cake. I'm not into the whole cupcake thing, but I realize now I've missed something. These cupcakes are really, really good and, as they say, the way grandma used to make. None of that filler stuff or the crisco stuff, just fabulous, fresh, delicious.
An added plus is that my daughter can't have gluten. My friend knew that and 3 of the cupcakes and the cake were gluten free. My daughter has been eating gluten free for a few months and most of it is, well, not delicious. Not so here.
Highly, highly recommended!Comment from Lynn M. of Icing on the Cake 12/30/2011

Icing on the Cake is one of my favorite stops when I'm in downtown Los Gatos.
When you come...
- Be prepared to enter heaven.
- Inhale the the sugary goodness.
- Gawk at the cakes, cookies, cupcakes, etc.
- Purchase one of the babies! (Having a hard time deciding? Try their "Fresh Banana Cake" and/or "Chunky Carrot Cake". They are divine! 'nough said!! Or just simply ask the staff, they'll be glad to assist you!)
- Walk across the street to Los Gatos Coffee Roasting Co. (Another one of my favorite stops.)
- Indulge on your baked goodie with a cup of coffee/hot cocoa/latte/etc. at LGCRC. That is... only if you can make it out of Icing on the Cake with the goodie in hand!
Enjoy! :) -

cupcake cupcake cupcake!!!!!
the staff here is so wonderful and patient!! i asked a millions questions and took forever making up my mind but they still politely walked me through everything and made wonderful recommendations! in the end, i only got 3 cupcakes and a macaroon but they were well thought out choices!!!
left with a banana, cookies and cream and cookie dough cupcake to bring home to share with a friend and the bf. there was mad traffic on the way back to san bruno so the macaroon didnt make it. haha
shared the banana cupcake and the cookies n cream cupcake and both were splendid! i definitely liked the banana one more though! best banana cupcake i've ever had!!!! the cookies n cream one was good too.... but i didnt care for the plethora of oreo cookie chunks in both the frosting and the cake. my boyfriend loved that about the cupcake though!
will definitely be back to try other flavors! especially since i've been going to a salon in that area for 4 years now! -

Another killer carrot cake for my birthday! Woohoo!!! Seriously, this cake is deeeelicious. I mean the calories count numbers probably approach the growing federal deficit but,...come on, itz my birthday,....right? Survey saaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayys,......YES!!!!! Party on dude!
I love the carrot and chocolate cakes here. I have had both as birthday cakes and was really more of a choco fan until I tasted the carrot. With the carrot cake it was love at first bite. The choco is starting to get jealous so next years b-day cake has to be chocolate.
The interior is small but pretty darn *cute*. I have a hard time saying that word as a guy but the shoe fits. They have tons of other cakes, cookies, brownies, and assorted treats. I have yet to see anyone leave empty handed and the employees are really cool. They are always helpful. Honestly, even the Grinch, Scrooge, or my old boss would have a tuff time not leaving with a smile on their face.
FYI, definitely more $ than a Safeway or Lucky's cake but you taste and see the difference and there is really no comparison. So as Marie Antoinette once said preceding her demise,..."Let them eat cake!" -
Review from Hooria T.
I really wanted to like this place more than three stars but I really can't justify giving them anything more. When you walk in you're in sensory overload, there's so much to look at in the shop and so much to admire in the dessert cases. From cookies to cupcakes to cakes to breads, they have it all. I've been here twice and here's my take -
The first time had the red velvet cake which was really good, the best thing they offer here. Based on an employee recommendation we also tried this chocolate brownie cheesecake thing which was meh, would never order it again. I liked their 1% milk because it was super cold and helped wash down the sweet treats.
The second time we came by here on a Sunday afternoon and they were surprisingly already out of the red velvet cupcake! Gasp! I can't rationalize any place running out of a red velvet cupcake. It's like a bakery running out of croissants, it's just not acceptable. This would never happen at Sprinkles* they'd simply ask you to wait about 5 minutes because the batch of red velvets they just put in are still cooling. After we recovered from the disappointment of there being no red velvet cupcake, we decided to try the banana cupcake that everyone has been raving about and also a chocolate chip cookie. We of course got the 1% milk again to wash it down.
Unfortunately, the banana cupcake was a huge disappointment. I guess I've been spoiled by Sprinkles* amazing banana cupcake but the one here was pretty flavorless. The chocolate chip cookie was simply meh and the milk wasn't as cold (and therefore not as good) as the first time we came here.
Bottom line, Icing on the Cake is overhyped IMHO and a pretty good red velvet cupcake that is sometimes out of stock isn't enough to get me driving back to Los Gatos anytime soon. Their hours are also pretty unreasonable (6pm close!), and are also closed on Mondays.

Whoa hooooo hooooo, HUGE variety of sugared-up sweets for this HOE. Gimme mo mo mo! ;)
I was on the HUNT for a good bakery to hit up for my one teeny tiny cheat SNACK for the week. So...thanks to our dog's groomer, Suzie from Suzie's Pet Salon of Campbell, we had an adventurous drive to downtown Los Gatos for something sweetly satisfying.
The #1 PLUS for this shop, especially for a shop that's located in a downtown area, is that they have their own parking lot in the back of the shop. And it's nicely shaded with TONS of parking spots. LOVE!!!
This place seems to always be packed with customers, but the great thing is...there are tons of staff members to help take your order. I took a good 15 minutes to finally decide on what I wanted! There were just too many options! I didn't know whether my chiseled tumtum wanted some of the huge slabs of pound cake, the delectable cookies, some homemade fruit pie, their famous banana cake or all of the other shizz that I wanted to take home with me!
I settled for one huge molasses crinkle cookie and a slice of the banana cake. Also got the chocolate cake for the SBBF Brad C.
We got all our stuff in cute white paper bags with the shop's fancy stickers on em and off we went to head straight home for Meal #4 of the day then to finally open up our goody bags to enjoy the "cheats" of the week.
Oh! There's no seating inside the shop, it's more of a place where you buy your goodies and get your caboodle on outta there, cuz it can get claustrophobic with the mass amount of sweet-tooth cravin' peeps!
Okay, back to the treats...
Banana cake: Icing was outta this world! Sooo moist and creamy. The cake itself was very light and airy...which meant, I was still pretty hungry for more after that slice. Arrrghhh!
Molasses crinkle cookie: Good cinnamony flavor, not the best molasses cookie I've had but it did it's job.
Chocolate cake: I had a teeny tiny bite of this one just cause I'm not a chocolate person, plus I can't be eating all 3 treats, that would be "cheating" way too much on my diet. It was very DENSE, thick and fudgy...pretty good, the buttercream in the middle probably tasted better than the fudgy cake itself.
Good bakery to hit up if you're ever in this sweet lil town. -

This is just about as good as it gets for desserts and sweet treats anywhere. When I had something here for the first time I about died because it was so delicious! I can't even remember what it was but it was to die for. It was chocolaty, moist, and had just the perfect amount of sweetness.
When you walk in you are hit with the most amazing aroma and you look around and you can almost taste everything but just seeing everything in front of you. It is really hard to decide what to get because you just have so may choices that look way too good.
If you need a sweet treat or a pick me at any time of the day Icing on the Cake is the perfect place for you to go. I couldn't recommend a better place to go! -

OMG. Their banana cupcakes were SUPER tasty. YUM YUM YUMMY!!
I ordered 20 for my friend's bridal shower. They were delightful on the phone and even encouraged me to get cupcakes over a cake because it would be a better deal. :)
Everyone at the shower LOVED them and I still have 3 of them in my fridge. So good!
It's always packed in the store, so picking up a big ass container of cupcakes was kind of a pain and it's a bit pricey, but I would recommend them if you can spring for it. Worth it!Comment from Lynn M. of Icing on the Cake 9/6/2011

One of my favorite places for deserts.
I've been eating their cupcakes for almost 6 years now, and they just get better and better. In general, red velvet is my favorite cupcake flavor, and over here its toooo good. But my favorite here is the Banana Cream Cheese Cupcake...The cream cheese frosting is an addiction in itself.
Their cakes are also really nice. My friend got a carrot cake for her birthday from here and it was one of the best I had. I have also picked up Zucchini Walnut loaf cakes for breakfast and those are amazing and super filling!!!

Best cupcakes I've ever had. The Cookies & Cream and Banana ones are amazing and I dream about them at night. I also LOVE the frosting shots... delicious and brilliant. I have only had cupcakes from here so my review is based entirely on the taste of the cupcakes (and on the amazing smells of the other cakes, pies, cookies, bars, and pastries).
The best part about Icing on the Cake is that the cakes and icings are all very different. Some places seem to just make one or two flavors of cake and just produce slight variations with different flavors of jam or different fillings and call them completely different cakes. There have been numerous ocassions at other cupcake places where I've gotten two different cupcakes and discovered that they were pretty much identical except for one minor detail. At Icing on the Cake, the cakes are truly unique so this really can't happen.
I bought cupcakes from here for my sister's wedding (for the bridal party to enjoy while we were getting ready) at the Tollhouse around the corner. We got a dozen in various different flavors. We had at least one of each of the following: Pink Lady, Rocky Road, Mint Chip, Cookies & Cream, Cookie Dough, and Banana with Cream Cheese frosting. They were all pretty fantastic. -

Icing on the cake equates to inches on the waistband :)
This is a Gucci type bakery in Los Gatos but sinfully delicious. Well most of the items are. I am definitely a fan of their cakes but only a mild fan of their cookies. It is the reason I can only give them 4 stars too. Some days the cookies are off da hook and other days they leave me feeling a bit fat...oops I mean flat :) But honestly, their baked cookies on a bad day are still better then Safeway's on their best day. :) Maybe I am just not a cookie kind of guy.
The reason I come here is for one reason and one reason only.......It is their BANANA CAKE. If you have never had it, you just haven't lived! The cake itself is beyond moist and the cream cheese type frosting is enough to make you do bad things for it. For my fellow New Yorkers out there, they will make traditional Black & White cookies. They are not as good as the real ones but it is the closest thing I have found to them.
NOTE: Minutes after writing my review, I was contacted by the owner. (Lynn) She was a lovely woman and I can tell she puts her heart and soul into her bakery. She was thankful for the review and addressed my comments one by one. This is why Yelp is changing the business world for the better. It allows real time feedback for the businesses and the customers. Any owner/manager who contacts me after a review gains more respect in my humble opinion. It shows they have concern for what is being written. Not all owners are as kind as Lynn but she definitely comes off as sweet as her cakes....Okay and possibly her cookies too :)
Yelp reviews and blogging can make or break a business so responsible posting is a must. I commented that I was charged $3.50 for a cookie and in actuality it was was only $2.75. My hunk of Banana cake was what cost $3.50....lol Truth be told, the taste of that cake is so good I would pay more if I had too... :P Anyways, that part of my review has been taken off. Thanks Lynn. -

Even though there was dessert that came with the meal for my Great Aunt Dinah's 90th birthday, the family also got a "real" birthday cake for her . All I am going to say is this:
The best cake I have ever eaten. Period. Hands down. I even said I would get married again just to serve this cake. Yeah, that good. Crazy good. What kind of cake?
Banana cake.
Earth shattering, mind blowing, "I'll have what she's having" kind of cake.
The Jewish word for a pig is a chazer. I am a chazer for this cake. In fact, I ate 3 slices at the party and the hosts sent the rest home with me. Yes, I said 3 slices and no, I am not too ashamed (though I haven't seen any of this family since)...
Fabulous and thank goodness it is far enough away from me so I don't add to the dimples in my ass.Listed in: Getting Baked

I love how the smell of the yummies just "hits" you when you open the front door! I have not had anything bad from this bakery. A great way for me to thank my friends/family is to buy different cakes by the slice...and tell them to NOT share with anyone else!
The pumpkin spice that I got today is up there with the banana!Comment from Lynn M. of Icing on the Cake 9/23/2011

After trying the almond cupcake from here, NO OTHER CUPCAKE TASTES AS GOOD. Cupcake itself is JUST right, not too sugary not too sweet + just enough icing to add a little sweet taste. You can actually hear the almonds being crunched on by your teeth (it's not just flavoring/scent). Also, their banana loaf cake and moon cookies are just delicious. Would I go all the way to Los Gatos again just for these little treats? You bet I would.

I was seduced. Not once, not twice, but multiple times. Shame on me.
Banana Cake. Chocolate Cake. Cookies, and cupcakes.
Whenever I am craving that little something to satisfy the sweet tooth, I drive out of my area and aim for Los Gatos. Like a child waiting with anticipation for the ice cream truck , I am often found behind the glass with a huge smile on my face. So many options, so little stomach.
If I purposely want to lick my fingers, I do so by heading to Icing On The Cake.
Buttermilk chocolate cake is moist and super rich. Make sure to have a glass of ice cold milk on hand.
Banana cake, yeah, there are no words. You must experience this on your own. It's not Banana BREAD...it's CAKE with frosting, with BANA. YES!
The cookies and cupcakes are delicious and I consider extras for you to throw in your box. Buyer be warned, you won't walk away empty handed.
My birthday is coming up, and you know I love CAKE...hint hint.Listed in: By no other name=SUGAR

I've only had the banana cake here, but it's one of my favorite cakes in the world. It's light and different than any banana cake I have ever tasted.
I tasted it at a friend's birthday party and ordered one for my son's birthday. Everyone raved about the cake and at least three of our guests got the same cake for their birthday parties! They also do a nice job decorating the cakes. I got one of their simple birthday cake designs, but my friend brought a picture in and they did an awesome job with a themed custom cake.
