Small unassuming place, I'm glad I asked the guy on the phone where they were located when I called in my order as I almost couldn't find it this evening. The sign is poorly lit.

It took me 30 minutes to figure out what I wanted to eat this evening, then another 30 minutes to scour Yelp and see what my fellow Yelpers had to say about the Teriyaki joints in my neighborhood.

Well, I am impressed and it takes a lot to impress me. I was really craving the short ribs plate after watching a Top Chef marathon on TV today (stayed home sick).  Also got a side of gyoza- awesome! Delicately crisp around the edges and with a simple yet tasty filling and not an over-abundance of ginger which I hate.

Very nice soy dipping sauce, so much I started dipping my short ribs in it too. I'll be back, for another order. Thanks.

One of the better teriyaki joints in Kenmore. A very good selection of teriyaki items. I like their bulgogi. Generous portions. Like a review said, consistent.

Good For: watching tv, fake wood panelled walls, bulgogi

Not nearly comparable to: Yummy Teriyaki, Redmond

In the north end (shoreline, LFP, Kenmore, Bothell) area this is the best teriyaki I have found. You could drive down SR 522 Bothell Way a thousand times and never know it was there. It is one of those places that relies thoroughly on word of mouth.

They have very generous helpings of food. I have only had their "# 1" the Chicken Teriyaki, but it is as good as it gets. If you like spicy, try their hot option! I have gone there for years and others have vouched for many of their other dishes! Trust me, give it try.

By the way, if you eat there, they'll serve it to you on a plate, not Styrofoam, a step up from most places.

Registered just to write my review on this place.  This is by far the best teriyaki consistently out of the many places ive been,  I have been going here for roughly 3 years and everytime its as good as the last.  Just a small little restauraunt, but nice people and great food.  I live in canyon park and travel to get my teriyaki here.  The price is average, or cheap by yelp.

Ichiban Teriyaki is a small affair located in a dilapidated small strip mall, one of the endless strip malls lining the main street of the town of Kenmore.  Above it hangs a battered, faded wood sign featuring the image of a bowl of teriyaki and the text "ichiban teriyaki" illogically enough printed in a font with a distinctly middle eastern flavor.
Once you actually step into the store, however, you're greeted by a homely counter and presented with a menu consisting of various types of teriyaki, including chicken, beef, pork, and I beleive shrimp.  A modest selection of other popular Japanese food is also available, but the teriyaki is the star of the show here.  It is much more traditional than your run of the mill teriyaki, with a very limited spattering of sauce.  It is served with rice and a salad consisting of cabbage and an unidentified white sauce.

The food is, in a nutshell, very good.  You can even call in advance and have them start making stuff in advance, a favorite feature for students at the local high school up the hill.
