This is where my night started before I ended up at Snack Dragon. I met up with my friends here for dinner and they easily accommodated our party of 15 without having us sit on top of each other. In fact now that I think back, we have never had such a problem whenever we ate here, and trust me we eat here a lot.
I arrived fashionably late with my girlfriend and was able to find ample parking out in front as well as on the side streets. Had those two options been full however, I knew that there would definitely be spots available in the municipal parking lot around the corner.
We ordered a Salmon Skin Salad which is a tradition that my girlfriend and I started since the first time I brought her here. As usual it was very crispy and had just the right amount of spicy sauce. Delicious! We also shared with our side of the table several orders of fresh shucked oysters on the shell and a sushi and sashimi boat. The oysters are always my favorite when we have dinner here. The sushi and sashimi was very delicious. As I said in my last review, the quality of the sushi is obviously not on par with the big fancy Japanese restaurants in Manhattan. But for a place in this area of Brooklyn, Ichi definitely trumps the competition in terms of quality and price.
The service tonight was impeccable as always. The waitresses came to fill our tea cups at a constant rate. My cup never reached the bottom all night. The waiter also didn't mind that we sat there and chatted amongst each other for a good 10-15 minutes after we finished eating before we asked for the check. He didn't hand us the check as soon as the plates were cleared like most Asian restaurants tend to do. Too bad Yelp only goes up to 5 stars because Ichi definitely earned the 6th star for outstanding service tonight.
I've honestly lost count the number of times I recommended this place to friends or even brought them there myself. This has been my favorite sit down sushi place for a while and I don't see that changing any time soon.

This is my favorite little secret in brooklyn. Obviously not comparable to the sushi you get in the… Read more »
Beautiful decor....definitely one of the few sushi places in Bklyn that has nice decor. The other places I've been to have been very ho hum boring.
Service was great, our waitress was really friendly. The sushi was pretty good...I love the ichi sushi pizza. Most of the sushi pizzas I've had are actually a small circle with sushi toppings and the crust is fried rice or something. But this one they make it a bit different..it's basically just a piece of sushi with shellfish and sauce on it. Crunchy roll had eel an salmon with crunchy stuff on top which is a plus.
Sushi here is cheap...some of the rolls were buy one get the other 50% off. Rolls were $2.50...so I will def. be heading back here!
// I am boosting them to 4 stars b.c customer service is SUPERB. I stupidly called their other store to order rolls and came to this store to pick up and they were sooo nice about it. They asked one of the guys to go pick it up and bring it to me. And the lady did not give me an ounce of attitude about it..amazing service!!
its good. i come here once to twice a month. this place is not in my neighborhood, but it is convenient for my friends.
they havea very good selection of cheap rolls.
only thing i hate about this place, the waitresses keep cleaning the table all the time and they are so fast to grab my plate when i finish, its like they are politely kicking me out?
This place is pretty! There are pillows for some of the tables and it's comfy there. The service is professional and nothing more than just serving food, clearing the table and getting the bill. They aren't mean about it either, very pleasant. Just the way I like it.
Pricing is good. $2.50 for the rolls. Would be nice if the special rolls were all 50% off too without the BOGO 50% off. I had the futo maki and spicy cooked scallop rolls. The sushi came out really fast and it had just enough rice to cover the seaweed, which was great because my friend was on a diet. I was ultimately very surprised that the scallop roll tasted sooooo good. The futo maki was good too - can never go wrong with that. Mmmm....$5 for two rolls and I was full too. Cheap lunch. :)
$2.50 simple rolls and $1 sushi / sashimi... plus 50% off a second special roll if you order one. Hard to beat the deal there!
The rainbow roll was delicious, and the white tuna was excellent - thick slices of sashimi, tasty. Fried soft shell crab was okay, although the inside of all the big rolls was a bunch of cucumber, I think. Service was swift and professional, hot tea to start the meal.
But the age tofu.. a little too thick starch on the outside. Nice different touch serving the sauce on the side, though.
Slightly out of the way, but it's a swift and easy time.
Came here with some friends to celebrate a birthday. (There was 10 of us total.) The sushi was average, so I've definitely had better. The menu offers enough options to keep everyone happy. The prices are reasonable as well, especially for Brooklyn. Best of all, they didn't penalize us with an extra surcharge for bringing in an ice cream cake like some restaurants do.
Ichi is one of the better sushi restaurants around the area of 86th street.
It does have the cheapest rolls, $2.50 is a deal. Since this is the new expansion from the one in bay parkway, it looks very clean and the interior is welcoming. 3 rolls for $7.50 and I was happy. The waitresses were friendly and not too overbearing. I would definitely come here again. Eel is perfect here. The pillows in the 4-seaters are nice.
