Prior to getting my hair cut here, I never had a "regular" place where I got my hair cut/blown out/colored, etc.  That has now changed and this is "my" salon!  Alla is my stylist and she is FABULOUS.  I walked in with hair past my shoulders and wanted to cut it short...yes, I said SHORT.  After a couple of "Are you sure?"'s she cut it and it was Fantastic!  And it wasn't a one shot deal...I went back 6 months later for a touch up...and I think it looked even BETTER!

I definitely recommend them for wash/cut and/or blowdry (pin straight)!

This place used to be a five in my book: not the swankiest salon, sure, but Anthony used to give a great haircut for 20 bucks. Now, he's gone, the price has gone up (to $27) and the last time I went in I left with my hair in a ponytail and haven't taken it down since.

That was two months ago. I still have to wear it up every day, even after getting damage control at Supercuts.

I have curly, medium-length hair (grown out from a short cut) and wanted layers so that it would grow out into a style. Eli cut two-inch-long bangs (which is absolutely ridiculous on curly hair) and gave me something resembling a mullet -- I got triangle hair with a kind of fringe of curls around the top. No understanding of how curly hair works or what the words "not too much off the front" mean.

It is very hit and miss here. Some people are mean. The only reason why I give it three stars is Milka.

She is the only hair stylist I've ever found who is not snap happy with the scissors. Everytime I've gone in for a trim I notice my ends are looking great but I barely feel like she cut anything. She is not about making length disappear if you do'nt want to.

As for the others, the tall blonde woman, I think its olga? Wasn't very good and rolled her eyes at me when I was telling her how I want my hair cut. Uh....ok. And another guy there did my hair when Milka was gone, big mistake....he wasn't good at all. Milka is the only good thing here.

OK OK I went here last summer. It was 20$ for a haircut. I don't realy understand if the stylist are Aveda certified or whether they just carry Aveda supplies. Unsure. Either way, good haircut for 20$ Worth it to go here for a trim, probably not for a real life changing haircut.
My roomate got her color done here and said it didn't last very long/she didn't really care for it.
I go back occasionally for a trim, just because it's so cheap. Eli is legit, he knows what he's doing and spends time on you...which is always good. Convenient location. Clean. Well lit. Great variety of Aveda products.

My belligerently Ukranian barber used a machetesque instrument to slice through my unruly locks with ruthless efficiency.

After blitzing through the growth, he attacked with some hair product a little aggressively. When I finally grabbed my glasses to survey the damage, I beheld a towering column of hair STICKING STRAIGHT UP.

I don't have the sufficient hipster quotient to pull off the -hawk, and felt the need to let my hair down. But I couldn't destroy his work in front of him. You don't just ruin art, especially in front of the artist. right? RIGHT?

I feel trapped.

Although the reviews for Ibiza can be mixed, I however think Ibiza salon is great, especially if you're a woman with hard to manage hair. Their staff can be brusque at times but they are all about doing the work well.  And I think it's kind of nice not to have to gab nonstop while listening to upbeat club music so you're The quality is worth it for the price.

I have long unruly, frizzy, coarse, long Hawaiian Hula lady Polynesian hair.

I've tried different types of salons and have dealt with disastrous results like having my hair puff up like a poodle and having to sit while they iron it out for an hour to ending up with a J-pop meets Japanese anime hair cut .Hair is also about the stylist's impression of ethnicity, which is hard when you are mixed and your hair's DNA does not comply to stereotypes.
Ibiza doesn't give me those stereotypes. They give me the hair style I want, and 100% of the time I let them handle it, they come up with something better.

I've gone to Ibiza since they opened. I tend to stick to Richie, who is an expert at styling and also is a major perfectionist so you'll never get uneven bangs or fringes. There are a few other good ones I've gotten my cuts from--one is a very thin blonde, Eastern European girl.

But my favorite there is Richie because he's an absolute perfectionist.

Horrible!

Alla can not do anything.
She tried to style it but does not know how to use the tools. Everything was falling apart.
My hair is not touchable and feels so dry and damaged!

Totally wasting money!

Bottom line: You really can't go wrong for $20.

I have pretty curly hair, and some places don't know how to handle it. While Ibiza was no Devachan, the stylist I had didn't seem put off by my unruly locks. I didn't go in for a big change -- just a trim to keep the length but shape up the scraggles, so I can't testify to their skills in cases of major style-overhaul.

The receptionist was beyond sweet -- I'd called ahead (twice -- once to make an appointment and once to change it) and both times she was incredibly nice on the phone, and when I came in and I gave her my name she repeated it with elation, like we were long lost sisters.

From there the service grew noticeably less warm -- the first stylist she led me to looked up from his laptop with a palpable lack of interest, and asked if I wanted a cut. I said yes. He said "and you don't want it blow-dried?" almost incredulously, to which I responded, "I hadn't planned on it, but you can if you want." He promptly followed with "No, I can't take, you, I don't have time for a blow-dry" which was a touch confusing.

They gentleman who washed my hair took his time, which most people will appreciate since it's a pretty nice scalp massage. The gentleman who ended up cutting my hair wasn't too terribly chatty, but wasn't cold either. In all honesty, he seemed a little distracted, but I came out with a good haircut so I'm not gonna knock his method.

I asked him what the affiliation is with Aveda, since I found them on the Aveda website, but most Aveda salons don't charge a flat $20 for cuts (lets be honest here -- I was a touch skeptical). He told me they are an "Aveda Concept Salon". I asked if they were Aveda-trained and he replied that Aveda helped them design the salon, then gestured to some shelves, so... my question wasn't really answered... though you'll be happy to know Aveda helped them place the shelving. And they appear to use all Aveda products.

All in all, if you need a cheap, decent cut and don't want to bother making an appointment, Ibiza's your spot. Ask how much the blow-out is up-front though -- based on other yelp reviews I thought it would be pretty cheap, but my stylist told me it would be $42. It was humid out, so I treated myself to some hair products instead.

UPDATE:
My rating has increased from 3 to 4 stars for Ibiza after another visit yesterday. I was teetering on rating Ibiza a 5, but opted for 4 since you never know how much you're going to be charged. I know cuts start somewhere in the $20 range, but thought they didn't go much past $35. Mine did yesterday ($52) but was WELL worth it. Actually when you factor in that a blowout is $20, that means my cut was only $32 and I have long hair and had a lot cut off.

I walked in around 5PM on a Tuesday with no appointment, and they happened to have someone ready for me immediately. I was paired up with Anthony, who I found to be very accomodating and meticulous. He spent a good amount of time analyzing my hair, and asking me about what I wanted. He then proceeded to snip away very carefully, and really took his time to make sure everyhing was coming out smooth and evenly. When I sprung the fact that I wanted him to cut bangs out of a small section of hair where they used to be before everything grew into one long shaggy mess, he confirmed that I was sure this is what I wanted.  When I said yes, he didn't complain but just continued to cut. Finally, I had him blow out my hair and boy, am I glad I did! I must say (and my boyfriend did as well)...I looked fabulous. It was the best blowout I've ever had, and another patron who was having her hair dyed told me that his blowouts last for days.

I highly recommend Ibiza for a reasonably priced haircut of high quality.

My hair was long and squidlike, and I was on the hunt for a salon where I could get a decent, cheap haircut, and not feel like I stepped into a barber shop or someone's dingy basement. At Ibiza, both requirements were met.

The salon is clean and modern, the staff is friendly, and my cut was $27. I have pretty long hair though. I think average length or short hair is only $20 for a cut. Do keep in mind that they charge extra to have your hair blown out. Since the cut appeared to be even and I was just going to be hopping on a train to visit my fam, I opted to leave with wet hair.

Ellie cut my hair, was friendly, funny (if you can handle getting your hair made fun of for its terrible condition), and did a good job of listening. Mind you, I wasn't asking for anything complicated. I had the length taken up quite a bit and my long layers and angle trimmed.

I'll definitely be back for my next haircut, and maybe I won't wait so long now that I know about this place!

All I want from a hair salon is relative calm and a good cut.  I got neither.  The Manager -type guy running around speaking LOUDLY in Russian was definitely setting the staff on edge.  Maybe I got a bad haircut because my stylist was nervous....I wanted bangs, and she pointed to just below my eyebrow.  "Okay?" she asked.  "Great!" I said.  Then I felt her pull down hard on my soon-to-be bangs, and before I could say "WAIT! Even a 10 year old knows you don't do that!"  She snipped, and my bangs popped up to about 1/2 inch above my eyebrows.  I'm not one to get mad - hair grows back, but it's been 2 months and my hair is just now looking decent again.

If you have long hair that just needs a trim, this is the place.  There is no consultation and the cut is speedy but it is only $20.  Just make sure that you tell them that you don't want a full blow-out or you will spend more money having your hair dried than you spent on the cut.  The cuts are plain but having been traumatized by years of bad layers and overzealous razor use, it is exactly what I am looking for.

My one complaint is that they nag me to color my hair.  Now, I'll be the first to admit that my natural hair color is dull but when I say that I am not interested in high-lights, they should lay off.

I wanted to get my hair a nice shade of honey blonde, but didn't want to do it myself and end up with an orange mess, so I decided to try Ibiza.... Alas.
I had to wait a long time for the guy to even get started on my hair, and once he did, I was seated near people that made me wish I had secret (or not-so-secret) mind-explodey powers. The girl kept snapping her gum and yapping with her guy friend, and he made a point of shrieking with laughter as loud as possible at everything she said.
I have to say that Kobi, the guy who did my hair, had very nice moments and was very considerate with protecting my sensitive scalp and everyone who worked there was polite. That being said, I had to listen to him proposition the Very Annoying Girl for a photo shoot, was in the salon for over 3 hours,  my hair was *not* blonde at the end of them, and I was out $200. The color I ended up with is a nice shade of light reddish brown that looks like a relative of blonde, but just isn't.
I won't go back to this salon. I was treated well, but the people, the length of time I was stuck there, and the lack of blonde just make it not worth it.

I'm always looking for a bargain, and Ibiza (an Aveda branch) offers great haircuts for only $20, and I always walk in without an appointment! The salon is clean, the hairstylists friendly, and I always leave happy. Add $10 for a blowout.
