If you can't get a room at the Ritz Carleton and/or you want to save a little money and want to be able to use the Ritz Carleton's gym and jacuzzi, look no further! This hotel shares the same block with the Ritz Carleton and is connected to it through corridors on the first floor and by elevator to their check in and restaurant level.
This is a great location right on the edge of the Vieux Carre between Canal and Iberville about a block from Bourbon Street. It is close to all the action, but very quiet, clean, and refined. The decor is similar to the Ritz but for a lower budget. The rooms are smaller and less upscale than the Ritz but still large by most standards and you can often get a great deal on them.
They have a decent breakfast that comes with the room served in the common area that includes waffles, yogurt, bagels, and cereals.
I find the gym here to be fantastic! Great equipment for a hotel gym! The pool is very small and indoors but has a current that you can swim against. The jacuzzi next to the pool is nice and kept at a relaxing hot temperature. Although I think the web site says the gym is an extra charge, I never have been charged to use it while staying at either the Iberville suites or the Ritz Carlton.

Great place to stay! Nice and quiet! And the room was spacious and great for 2 or a family of four. The fitness center is shared by the Ritz Carlton, which by the way was the best ones I've been to, Clean towels on every station with earphones for guests to use.
The hotel was centrally located in the French Quarter and near the trolley stop so we could hop on and go to the Garden District for only $1.25 each way as opposed to a $6 cab ride!
Be for warned about the Trolley drivers. They are very impatient and rude. Have exact change!
V. happy with this hotel, which is essentially a suite apartments hotel attached to (and run by) the Ritz Carlton.
Lovely, spacious lobby, friendly staff, large rooms (well, I guess anything is large when compared to NY hotels and apartments), and complimentary breakfast that included a make-your-own-waffles station.
We had a party of 8 (and quite a party it was!) this past July 4th weekend. Even on the holiday weekend, it was ~$350/night, tax & fees included, for four people per room (yes, we were honest about it and listed that there WERE four people - as opposed to two people for the lower rate - what do you expect from 8 lawyers?). This rate was at least $150-200 less than comparable (i.e. 4-star) accommodations in the French Quarter area. The set-up is one queeking bed (it looked larger than a queen, but not sure if it was a king?) in the bedroom plus one pull-out couch in the living room, plus a mini fridge and bar sink counter area (useful when there are 4 people trying to brush their teeth in the morning). As a side note, it's kind of funny when everyone is using the same shampoo and conditioner, particularly when it's a rather fragrant coconut-lime-verbena Bath & Body Works product, because everyone ends up smelling the same by the end of the trip.
One negative is the fact that the lobby is on the second floor, and you have to take separate elevators from ground floor to the lobby, and then from the lobby to the rooms. Additionally, there are only two elevators servicing the rooms, so things can get a little log-jammed. It was Essence Festival this past weekend, too, so that also may have contributed to the crowded factor.
That said, if this hotel is good enough for Ne-Yo (whom we saw in the lobby upon checking in - NOT that I recognized him because, as everyone can attest to, I recognize nobody, except Chris Rock and that was when I literally bumped into him in SoHo - as squealing girls were in the elevator saying "I can't breathe, I can't breathe, that was Ne-Yo!"), then it's probably good enough for you.

Staff is great; front desk, door and parking. You feel good about stay here. Got better prices on orbits website.
I was there about 5 or 6 years ago. I really enjoyed staying here. The hotel was very nice, the rooms were very well put together and the staff was very friendly. What i really liked about this place is that its only a block or 2 from all the action on Bourbon Street and when i got my rate it was cheap at $99/night and they had free continental breakfast. I'd recommend going there if you're in town.
This is our third trip to New Orleans and I'm so happy we discovered the Iberville Suites. We will definitely stay here for our next visit.
Good location in the French Quarter - one block off Bourbon so quiet but close to the action (if Bourbon St is your thing). You are on the end closer to Canal so you will need to walk five minutes to get to the central part but that is part of the fun of the French Quarter, wandering down the many streets. We could easily explore the French Quarter, enjoy the restaurants (two of our favorites are near the hotel: Bayona and GW Fins), and take the streetcar to the Garden District.
The service was wonderful. From the valet who we saw when we can and left the hotel (this was the only strange thing with the hotel is the entrance seems to be off an ally where valet is for both Iberville Suites and the Ritz Carlton) to the reception we were always greeted with genuine warmness. The concierge was able to get reservations at a restaurant that was booked for weeks in advance. It was great have a bedroom and a sitting room to spread out - we didn't feel cramped. The rooms were very clean and quiet - I don't think I even heard a door down the hall close. Breakfast is complimentary and includes the usual (cereal, fruit, bagels, muffins) but you can also make waffles fresh if you want and they had fresh squeezed orange juice. And you have full access to the Ritz Carlton which is connected through a "secret" elevator (just a little hard to find) but you can use anything there including their pool, night time jazz shows, etc.
So for the service (really stellar), good sized clean and quite rooms, and location, the Iberville Suites really is a great value. We would return in a heartbeat.
I didn't know what to expect when I booked it, but I was impressed by this hotel.
Highlights:
- Location: The best part of this hotel: just a block and a half from Bourbon street. Great to be able to easily get to the heart of things--and back later at night--but also far enough away so that it's quiet when you get back to your room and ready for a rest.
- Nice looking room: not too gaudy but some fancier decorations like an ornate vanity that looks like it could be right out of Snow White.
- Living room: had a tv, sofa bed, desk, and small fridge. If you were sharing the room with another person, it'd be nice to be able to close the door and have your private areas.
- Nice lobby: classic with chandeliers and a bunches of couches to use to wait for your friends.
- 24 hour room service: always love this as an option even if I don't use it. ;-)
- Coconut lime verbena bath products: not sure what verbena is but it all smelled really nice
- Good price: even during the French Quarter Festival, we found the room on Orbitz not only with vacancies but for about $140/night.
- It was associated with the Ritz so I felt more comfortable with the quality of place even though it was a less expensive option than others. You can also use their gym for a fee a day which we didn't take advantage of but a nice option.
Lowlights (my flip side to highlights):
These are mostly just nit-picky things and not deal-breakers.
- Small bedroom: since there is a living room, the actual bedroom can pretty much fit a bed in it.
- Sheets were a bit rough and bed a bit too soft.
- No full length mirror: hard for a girl to get ready to go out without being able to see her full outfit. I had to wait for the elevator to be able to see my whole self.
- If you have a room far away from the elevators, it can be a bit of a maze to get there. We had about 4-5 turns to get to our room and I usually found myself taking a wrong turn at some pt. :-O But then, I am a bit directionally challenged.
- Have to take 2 elevators to get in and out. One for going between the street and lobby level and another to get to your room floor.
- Front desk didn't know there was a parade going right by the hotel for the French Quarter Festival when we asked what time it was at.
I was very happy with the location and the hotel itself, so I'd stay here again.

I booked this hotel through Expedia mainly because I got a fantastic deal. I figured I couldn't go wrong since it served complimentary breakfast and was operated by the Ritz Carlton. Boy, was I right! Everyone was super friendly, from the front desk staff to the bellhops to the cleaning staff. Our room was spacious since it is a suite - rather large living room area with sofa bed, desk, and tv and large bedroom with king size bed and another tv. There was also a small refrigerator and mini bar area. The bathroom was a bit snug even for two people, but the fixtures and bath products are nice. Our view was of the city above the French Quarter so not much to see, but I would rather see nothing than be in the middle of Bourbon Street with a lot to see and a lot of noise. The hotel is located only a block from Bourbon Street at the Canal Street end - very conveinent. Breakfast was typical continental with cereals, muffins, bagels, juice, yogurt and a waffle maker. I didn't see any fresh fruit which was disappointing. Since the hotel is operated by the Ritz Carlton (and shares the same building) we were able to take advantage of the Ritz's concierege, Rudy. Rudy helped us book a plantation tour and gave us some information on other sightseeing opportunities. The Iberville Suites made our trip that much more enjoyable. I would definitely stay here again and I have already recommended it to other potential travelers to NOLA.

It's a nice enough place and I'm not going to nitpick the fine details. Nice bath products, reasonably comfortable bed, the doorman's nice. Two rooms; you know, it's a suite. The negatives: (1) one smallish window in my room, and it didn't open; (2) $12.95 a day for internet if you can't pick up the one weak open wifi signal; (3) public spaces with fancy couches and sort of Victorian looking furniture that never have any people and wind up feeling sort of creepy; (4) you can get lost trying to get outside. And no full length mirror!
