As hotel bars go there is more to like (and dislike) about this one than most. The lodge setting is really sweet - especially the middle fireplace with seating all around it. The terrace is a good spot for seating as well. It's not set apart from the occasional screaming kid so 1 demerit. So, as far as ambiance - it's 4 solid stars. The flip side is that the service is not the greatest. Our bartender, bless him, was the only person serving a huge din of conventioneers* so it took a good while to get a drink. You could tell people were getting impatient - low marks on staffing. A few more tap beers would be nice (3 is all they had and I am not a fan of Yuengling or Coors).
*we were not conventioning but needed alcohol because of this fact.
This is a classy, relaxing, beautiful (read the history) lounge. The service is very good -- typical of HERCO. The bar is excellent and the menu, though short, is delicious -- especially the pizzas. It is the perfect place to unwind after a busy Hershey day.
