Good lord, where do I start? First off, huge props to LA (Lisa A) for finding a venue for our bacon shindig.

I've never seen such awesome, creative uses of bacon in my life. I'm overwhelmed, and oversalted. My hands and feet are the sizes of balloons. Macy's Thanksgiving Parade Balloons. I was supposed to meet a trainer this morning. You can imagine that in my bacon hangover, I did not make it to that meeting.

I'm so impressed with my fellow Yelper's love for bacon and their mad creative skills in the kitchen. The following is a list of dishes, who made them, and my notes. Because I'm like Ruth Reichl up in here with my mad food critic skillz.

Ryan S- Bacon Wrapped Scallops- cooked perfectly and seasoned so delicately. I got a nice, briney taste of the sea, the sweetness of the scallop, and the smoky-salty of the bacon. Bravo. I ate about 5.

Lisa A-Bacon Wrapped Shrimp on Cheese Grits- The southern girl in my loved this twist on a low-country classic. The addition of corn and chiles to the grits gave it that Texas twist. I ate an above average portion of this.

Allison P- Bacon Cheese Dip- I do believe the name says it all. The addition of almonds was a brilliant choice, lending a bit of sweetness to the smoky/salty of the dip. Served with Ritz chips for that special something. I ate a LOT of this.

Me- Macarons two ways: Maple Buttercream with Bacon Candy and Chocolate Ganache with bacon. I was really happy with the flavors of these, especially the maple bacon. I'd definitely make those again, and probably will. Home-cured bacon: This was good, if a little salty. More like a country ham than a bacon. Would definitely make again. I didn't eat any of my stuff because I did before I came to the event.

Jessica R- Bacon Candy- YUM! I like my bacon pliant and this was. With the sticky-sweet addition of brown sugar and spicy cinnamon, I ate a lot of this.

John and Judy, our new friends-Bacon Cookies and Maple Peanut Butter Bacon Brownies-I want to be friends with them for life. From their awesome bacon t-shirts to their INCREDIBLE bacon desserts (possibly the two best on that table), I was in heaven. That cookie was the most incredible, interesting thing I've eaten in a long time.

Erika-Jalepeno/Bacon quiche- Erika came late, bearing this quiche which was to DIE for. Since I had been eating so much sweet stuff, this savory creation with the base of a favorite of mine, eggs and cheese, and the addition of bacon and jalepenos, was a welcome taste sensation. I ate a slice of this.

Alan and (sorry, name escapes me)- Chocolate covered bacon with Cherries- What an amazing idea! The addition of cherry juice to the bacon/chocolate combo was a stroke of brilliance. I ate one of these.

Liz W.- Dark Chocolate Bacon brownies-This late addition smelled and looked stellar, and I took two home. Unfortunately, I was so full at that point I haven't gotten a chance to try that yet.

As you can see, we've got a talented bacon crew here. There were lots of bacon jokes, new friends and an awesome space for this inspired party. I vote we do it monthly.

I enjoyed eating your bacon.  Let's do it again, call me?

Decadent.
Ridiculous.
Hilarious.
Enviable.
Epic.

You may all worship the trail we have blazed for the non-participating heathens that missed this glorious evening celebration of all that is right with the world.   The few participants who braved scorn and ridicule and the cold to demonstrate their love for the cured goodness that is bacon shall enjoy their warm memories for eons to come.

I loved every single taste:
-cheesy dip
-candy
-wrapped on shrimp in grits
-home made (gotta try making bacon now)
-candy, take two
-cookies
-brownies
-quiche
-chocolate covered
-brownies, take two!
-cupcakes that were so good I got to watch the frosting get licked off of one.
-whatever one I missed mentioning. The blood flow to my brain is slowing due to the after effects of the food coma.

My arteries need a few days to soften back up and I'll consider when I can do this again!

Oh yeah, Scoot rocked it.

ps, the cheeses were: smoked fontina, queixo tetilla, chipotle cheddar,  and grana padano.  And goat's milk brie.

the bacon footage of which jessica speaks was recorded and brought in by the lovely & talented duo - judy & john. it was the sweet sweet sound of bacon frying. why is this noise not on every white noise machine on the planet?
if i concentrate hard enough, i can still hear it frying.

i did not eat a single bite that offended me. in fact, i did not eat a single bite that did not make me happier than the bite before. as it turns out, the law of diminishing returns does not apply in bacontown.

if you want to know the secret to jessica r's candied bacon, you can ask her, but i'm gonna bet it's crack. there is no other reason i should have eaten 7 or 8 pieces of that stuff.

everyone, and i mean everyone, knocked my socks off.

for the next event, i promise to contribute more than just a non-edible hoody.

a side note:
i write this review from portland, maine.
it's f-in cold.
i was just sitting outside last night, eating bacon.
now i'm inside because if i go outside, i will die.

but as it turns out, this place might not be so bad...
just last week, my sister had an entire pig butchered & delivered to her freezer. i now have a new favorite sister.
and i'll be having bacon for breakfast.
and ribs for lunch.
and chops for dinner.
you could say i am in hog heaven.
