I come to this bar numerous times a month with my boyfriend or friends and love it. It's a neighborhood bar so you have to judge it as such. They have a few beers on draft in a huge mug for $4 which I always take advantage of. Gina is our favorite bartender -- she is such a sweetheart and friendly and always gives us a hug when we visit. She makes killer Bahama Mamas so make sure you get one if you're into fruity, "girly" drinks. Tip her well!

My first thought when I walked in was, "Wow! It's a Tejano version of the bar in Jackie Brown!" After my eyes became adjusted to the low light and mirrors on the ceiling, I saw there indeed was no Tejano Jackie Brown talking to a Tejano Max Cherry about being afraid of having to start over.
But there was a woman yelling at her husband at the end of the bar.
Then she started slapping the mierda out of him, yelling "and don't come home tonight!" all the while.
Well, the lady barkeep wasn't going to put up with that! "HEY!", she asserted control, "you wanna beat up your husband? Fine. But you do it on the sidewalk! Not in my bar!"
The wife knew the barkeep was right, and that she wouldn't win anything that day no matter how many punches she threw. She ran out, crying.
Pool balls resumed clicking, registers began ringing, and cell phones started beeping. I finished my beer and left.
I felt bad for the wife, and wished that Jackie Brown was there to kick some ass for her and make her feel better.Listed in: The Lost Socks, @#$&* @##$%, What I Did During My Summer…

Ok, but terrible ventilation and bathrooms. Good for the novelty and a very large mug of Fat Tire.

I have been a fan of this bar for the past 10 years or so. My father used to go there by himself, then he started taking my mom, then they brought me when I was old enough to drink. Now I bring my partner and all my friends. It has become a family outing. It's a great neighborhood bar. The bartenders are so friendly (esp. Gina). Drinks are relatively inexpensive. We have met alot of friendly people there. Yes, on occassion the clientele gets out of hand but luckily Gina is right there to kick them out. I just wish this place was open on New Year's Eve but oh well. I highly recommend this place who wants a place with a relaxed environment.

went here on a friday night, late. they have cheap, VERY huge beers and pool. other mixed drinks and whiskey is cheap too. the bar is smoky and feels like home if you love a dive with all sorts of people hanging out.
