4 reviews for Hyper Fitness
I've never been the type of girl to workout. Physical activity - really not my thing. I'd rather sit on a couch and watch tv anyday. Never felt that "high" from working out, so I always gave up pretty quickly on any attempt to work out. I've paid for gym memberships and not gone/gone rarely and ran on a treadmill for 30 mins... I've signed up for 5ks or 8ks hoping that if I started running, I'd want to keep doing it and getting into shape. False.
Enter Hyper Fitness. A friend of mine had joined and had seen great results and felt great. Since my pants were getting a bit too tight and uncomfortable (whatever gets you into the gym, right?), I thought it was time for me to make an effort. I met with Alex who explained the variety of equipment and some examples of types of exercises they do. Still being skeptical that I wouldn't attend regularly, I signed up for 1 personal session and went on a Saturday. Wow. I felt like I worked every muscle that day. And though I was a bit sore from being out of shape, I liked the feeling of accomplishment and the friendliness of the trainers and other customers. I signed up for group sessions (of no more than 6 people) and have been going 3x a week ever since.
All three trainers are super nice, motivating, and take an genuine interest in you and your health. They have the technical knowledge to provide creative and fun exercises that are challenging and work a variety of muscles. They are always willing to educate you on the proper technique for each exercise and how it helps you.
I am stronger, I enjoy the workouts, I enjoy getting to know the trainers and other customers, and as such, I keep wanting to come back for more sessions. The specialized attention with personal trainers, friendly atmosphere, variety of exercises, and technical knowledge of the trainers make it a great value that you can't find anywhere else.
So, now that I've been working out here for several months I thought it was about time to update my review.
During the first 6 weeks of working out with Bill, I lost 10 inches. Seriously...I'm not joking.
I finally decided it was time to take the plunge and try group sessions and I love it! Each of the three trainers have their own training style so it's spiced things up a bit which I have enjoyed. I have also been going to the kickboxing class on Saturdays at noon-and I tell ya what, it's an amazing workout and seriously fun!
I can not say enough good things about Hyper Fitness as a business, and Alex, Bill and Mary Beth as trainers-they are amazing and I have recommended them to all my friends-several of whom are now working out with these guys!
A new addition is a chiropractor who comes in Tuesday nights and will do consultations-he worked with me for about 35 minutes the other night and gave me a few stretches/exercises to do that will help solve some of my back, hip and foot problems. And, it was FREE!!! Amazing!
So here's the deal: group sessions are 6 people or less per trainer and you can do up to 6 a week for $199/month. It's an amazing deal and totally worth it. These guys have made working out fun and effective, I have made more progress with them in the last 4 months than I would in years of working out alone at a regular gym. And it's not just about the workouts for them-they invest in the whole person-get involved in the lives of the clients and they are simply amazing people.
I mean, I didn't really know I could lose 10 inches but I did, and what's better yet, is I've kept it off...all thanks to Team Hyper.
If I sound like their biggest fan, it's only because I totally am.

Alex, Bill, and Mary Beth are amazing!
I work out with Mary Beth and she is amazing... AMAZING people! Actually, they all are. They are cool and fun and will make an hour of working out go by super fast. They also like sarcasm and that makes them even cooler.
(I'm not much of a gym person, so if I like working out with them... you'll love it.)
I am not writing reviews much anymore, but I really wanted to get the word out on Hyper Fitness; they've made such a difference in my life! When I saw they were opening across the street and their prices (incredible- $14 a one hour session) I was really interested, and after talking to Alex I liked the sound of their approach. We went ahead and bought a membership (three sessions a week). I really couldn't be happier. The trainers are Alex, Marybeth, and Bill and I try to see all three in a week because they all have different attitudes and approaches and I really enjoy working with all three. Their workouts are very thoughtful, and you really feel like you have their attention and they love their jobs. They all three totally kick your butt but you have FUN. Bill is merciless; He will give HARD workout and sometimes you just want to lay down and die but you feel REALLY proud after you are finished. Often he keeps you going by the sheer force of his will. Marybeth has a really upbeat, motivating personality, and her workouts are very customized, complex, and seem to have a lot of consideration to their choreography. Alex keeps you moving and engages you with a ton of different activities and loves to crack you up during a workout. They are all just great to be around. The hour workout FLIES. After 6 weeks I have lost 12 inches off my body and 2%of my body fat. I can run a solid 15 minutes (I bet I could do 30- I haven't tried) , before I started going I could not run two minutes and was in terrible shape. Most of all I have started to truly love working out. I would go six days a week if I could afford it. Bonus: their free with membership website is also really helpful with a food log, fitness journal, and a library of health and fitness related articles.
