This is a smaller park, but it is located in Sproul State Forest and connects to trails there, so there is still plenty of opportunities for exploration. The camp area is pretty and has some very nice and clean facilities available. It offers a pool, swings, and slide in a nice little play area by the campground. Hyner View State Park is located nearby to enjoy too.

We love camping here, we did the same week here last year and loved it. Super nice camp sites with one end being pet friendly. The pool is a great thing for kids to have. Just wish they would add some stuff to the kids playground area, only one slide and a few swings now. If you go to the office they have a lot of animals and bags with stuff for kids. They do some shows also about snakes, bats etc. the creek running on the edge of the campsites have plenty of trout and crawfish and turtles or we just like to swim and soak our feet in. Great little place to visit.

Perhaps the most spectacular viewpoint in all of PA. If you find yourself anywhere near Hyner, PA, you must trek up to the top to the mountain to see the gorgeous Susquehanna valley below.

I was lucky to be able to visit on a clear September morning with excellent visibility. I was taken up there quite by surprise, not knowing what to expect. We were already in the middle of nowhere, then we climbed this long, steep hill and we arrived at a parking lot at the top of the mountain. I still could not see the view from the parking lot, but as I walked toward where the action was obviously happening, the incredible view was slowly exposed to me. Being surprised was a great way to experience it.

Hyner Run State Park is a beautiful small state park in Sproul State Forest in Pennsylvania. Sitting directly below Hyner View State Park, Hyner Run State Park offers ample opportunities for outdoor recreation. Hyner Run has a beautiful modern campground for both tent and Rv campers alike. The Park was originally a CCC camp in the 30's, and you can still see some of the original CCC structures within the Parks Picnic area. The Park also offers Hiking on some of Pennsylvania's longest hiking trails such as the Donut hole trail which starts, and ends in Hyner Run. The park also offers a swimming pool during the summer as well as a small playground, and children's rock climbing wall in the Picnic Area. Overall Hyner Run is probably one of the coolest small Pennsylvania State Parks being that it is surrounded by forest land with so much opportunity for recreation. A must stop while visiting Northern Pennsylvania.

Hyner View State Park offers one of the most spectacular views in Northern Pennsylvania. Although a very small Pennsylvania Park it's still well worth the trip to see the view that overlooks Sproul State Forest, and the Susquehanna River. Very Popular with Hang Gliders Hyner View can often times get very crowded, and become a spectacle for people passing by. Along with Hyner Run State Park these two parks offer great opportunity for family fun outdoor recreation.

Both Parks are great for a weekend adventure!

Hyner Run is located in Clinton County, north-central Pa. Hyner Run is pretty small size wise, measuring only 180 acres. It has a small stream going through it and a nice set of picnic pavilions. It is surrounded by Sproul State Forest, those that know me understand my like of parks, woods and mountains, but compared to its neighbors its paltry. It you are in the area, check it out, but deffinatly go to its larger neighbor: Hyner Viewhttp://www.yelp.com/biz/hyner-view-state-park-hyner#hrid:s-WC-8nzyR06haOg7H-Vdg/query:hyne r
