If sombody wants to taste real authentic Hyderabad Chicken Biriyani...I would recomend HBH.It is one of the delicious Biryani that i ever had.In my point of view it is Hyderabad's Paradise Biryani of Bay area.
I hate to give a low rating to a restaurant that just opened.
We heard about this restaurant on Indian Threads and it was hyped for a few days. The restaurant offered to give a 40% discount with an online coupon valid only on 15th and 16th August.
I actually wish the owners well and I really hope you improve and be successfully.
We ordered:
Lemon Onion Cut Mirch:: 4 small pieces of Jalapeno Peppers, 2 peppers split into 4 pieces. Did not eat. However, I will never pay $4 for 2 Jalapeno's (I am cheep)
Chili Chicken
Chicken Manchurian
Hell I did not know which one was which. You know even the person who brought the two to the table 20 minutes apart did not know which one was which. 1 STAR for taste and service.
Gobi Manchurian
Apparently those who ate this appetizer, liked it.
Main Dishes:
Butter Chicken -- Sorry fellow Indians, this place does not know Butter Chicken, well if you want cream and creamy tasting chicken, then eat this one. I would give you butter chicken ZERO Stars.
Naan - Was not fluffy but was the hottest item we got served (temperature wise).
Chicken Dum Biryani -- Poor, Bland, Not enough Masala, Chicken was actually not cooked completely, if I get food poisoning and die tonight, people will know why!.
Vegetable Biryani - had a burnt taste to it all throughout. Even yogurt on the biryani would not help me out. Sorry!, this one SUCKED.
Summary:
Service:
You guys were NOT organized at all. You got dishes to our table that we already had eaten, no one was keeping track of what was delivered and what was left.
You did not get the Roti that our friend wanted with Butter Chicken, the Roti came a good 20 minutes after the butter chicken reached our table.
You forgot what we ordered.
ALL THE FOOD Served, except for one chicken appetizer and Naan was HOT. All other food items we got served was COLD, brrr, COLD.
I think you all are good people, BUT you do not have any experience in running a restaurant. Engineers do not make good restauranteurs.
I would have actually taken a job at a restaurant for 3 months before opening one. But that is me and I don't have a restaurant.
Could you learn on the fly, YES
could you succeed, YES
Will you succeed, MAYBE.
I am not sure if you have a professional Cook, but the food was FAR too mediocre.
If the person cooking the food is a member of the family, they might be good cooks for small groups but cooking in big quantities requires skill and training and experience that a few can master.
Get a Profession COOK
If Current COOK is professional, send them back to school to get more training
Else
Fire them and get a new Professional Cook.
I think your heart is in the right place, the folks working at the restaurant can make a good team but you were not trained at all. Have one or two people assigned to cleaning and bussing tables. Don't make them carry food in and out of kitchen as well. I notice this SHIT.
You get 1 STAR for service.
Taste: Poor, you get 1 STAR for food.
Ambience: No comments, I did not go there for anything but Mutton Biryani and had Chicken Biryani instead because Mutton was only on weekends.
Recommend: At this time, on what basis can I recommend, So for now it is NO!.
Will I go back: No, however, I will order Mutton Biryani for pickup in the future. I will update this review if Mutton Biryani is good.
Romantic: HELL NO!
Note to Management: You are now in REAL WORLD, running a business is at least twice as tough as working for someone else.
There are NO points for people who are Nice but don't know how to run a restaurant. My recommendation, Hire some staff that has run a restaurant and that includes a manager.

I give 5 stars to this place. I love spicy food.
I used to heard about this Biryani all the time from Indian friends but never get a chance to try any where else. Last week I went to this place with my colleagues for lunch and tried Biryani meal.
It was delicious, flavorful. Even I liked the curries spicy taste which I tasted from colleagues meal :-)
Totally I am flat. I will recommend this place to all who like spicy stuff.

Dear and near, I live in SFO now, before that I was a Hyderabad resident. I started loving non vegetarian dish from the first time of going to Hyderabad Biryani House on August 16th 2007 (next day of grand opening of this Restaurant)
My husband and I miss the Hyderabad biryani style of food in the whole USA (we travel lot around US due to nature of job). I can confidently say that there is no other restaurant which comes in comparison with the Chicken Dum Biryani of this restaurant.
Before I got married and just leaving Hyderabad, i asked my brothers, night at 11-30 pm to bring me Hyderabad biryani. they brought it for me. And we enjoyed a lot the birayni with a little of coke along with it.
My husband loves the chili chicken from this place which was spicy enough and making mouth watery. I suggest this to every one who like little spicy.
one negative thing I noticed was, it was very crowd and too busy. May be due to grand opening 40% offer.
Of course hyderabadis love crowd, obviously I love it.
the bad part of the restaurant is little narrow entry...but who cares..I want that biryani again and again......

Excellent Place. I heard about the Hyderabad Dum Dum Biryani and beat all my expectations. Good quantity:) with Yummy and spicey chicken. Bonus boiled egg. All this for just $7.99. Every thing else is also very good price. My two kids were making lot of noise, but the mgmt has been very helpful and accomodative. Dont forget to order Cut Mirchi.
cheers
Ravi

My worst experience to date at any restaurant. Two of us walked in on a Sunday afternoon at around 2:00 PM already very hungry. Although we were initially driving to Pakwan, the Paki restaurant, this falls on the way and decided to try it out, unfortunately for us !!
After we got seated by a poker-faced waiter (no smiles, no hellos) and handed out menu cards, no one bothered to stop by for another good 15 mins. Finally after we started waving to the waiters there, they came by and took the order. We ordered a starter, Chicken 65, and for main course we chose to have Chicken Biryani.
Then the waiting game started, our hunger rising all the time. After some 20 mins, we get the Chicken 65 with a fresh paste of chilli all over the half cooked chicken. Believe me, it was all raw paste, uncooked, unfried and when we popped one piece into the mouth, it started burning my throat due to the spice. So we called the waiter and asked him if this is how Chicken 65 is meant to be. He takes the plate back, comes back with it and says, " yes sir, the chef says this is how it is". I said " but it cannot be uncooked masala on the chicken, like its been just left to marinate !"
Anyways, the waiter offered to take an order for some other starter instead. Driven to our wits end, we said we would rather not have any starters, just the Biryani. He responded "its coming soon."
By now it was 2:45 and still our Biryani showed no signs of coming!
We got frustrated and asked the waiter again fro the status on our Biryani ! He again said "it should be ready soon'.
Another 5 mins went past and he came back with an apologetic face and said " Sir, the Chicken Biryani is over!!. Do you want to order something else ?"
We couldnt control our frustration. Ridiculous !!
How can some restaurant kep you on hold for 45 minutes and then come back to say the dish is over !!
We said we are done and got out.
Since it was 3PM already, we doubted if we would get any food now. We drive to Olive Garden and got great food with great hospitality all the way from the door until we got out after eating. Terrific experience. And we understood, why Olive Garden always has lines of people waiting to get in !
Overall, wil never go back to Hyd. Biryani House ever again and will NOT recommend anybody going there. Reading other people's reviews here, looks like lot of people have had bad experiences here. So my piece of advice is stay away !!

Being a self confessed hyderabadi who loves Biryani..this place didn't disappoint.
We had ordered both the Chicken and the Veggie Biryani, and both items were delicious..This is the closest to authentic Hyderabadi Biryani available in the Bay Area..a must try for all those Hyderabadis craving Paradise/Bawarchi like food..
Only suggestion to them is to include more of the Hyderabadi fare.

The restaurant had its grand opening on Aug 15th and their website was offering a coupon for 40% off valid only for 15 and 16th,so yesterday a bunch of us went there to try out their offerings.
Hyderabadi Biryani House is located in the Fremont Hub shopping centre in Fremont,a good location for dinner after a long day of shopping.
For its second day in business the restaurant was packed with people, and its no tiny place either.I guess the word of a new Biryani place spread like fire.
There were 6 of us and we ordered a laundry list of items, everything we tasted was good if not the best, and the only reason for complain was that a few of our items arrived luke-warm instead of hot.As our server who also happens to be one of the owners said, they just weren't expecting hordes of people to show up on a thursday evening at a restaurant that hadn't been in existence more than 48 hours.
Naturally they were very hassled and made delays or errors in bringing out some of our dishes.
We ordered:
-Jalapeno appetizer: Very well made, but arrived cold.
-Chicken Chili and Chicken Manchurian:Very hot(taste and temp- wise),very very good.
-Gobi(cauliflower) Manchurian:same
-Veg and Chicken Biryanis:this is their signature item,a rice dish cooked with meat or vegetables and both we ordered were very authentic tasting but a little of the colder side.Great portions.
-Chole Bhature: Extremely well made Bhature but the chole was a South Indian preparation instead of the usual North Indian one.
-Butter Chicken:I have had better but this one wasnt bad either.
-Naan:Soft and tasty.
-Plain and Mango Lassi: well made with the right amount of sweetness.
Ordinarily I would have given them 3 and 1/2 stars. But I will tell you the reasons for the extra ones.
1.The restaurant has just opened! Its like a baby trying to stand up,we cant expect it to run like the wind. And its a group effort by some Techies who dared to dream bigger than just their software code.
1 star for that
2.The coupon was for 40% off, based on our $ 61 bill(yes only $61 for all the things we ordered, its very reasonably priced) that would mean abt $24 off,but instead they gave us a 60% off of our bill, resulting in us paying a measly $40 after tax and a very generous tip and after divvying it up between 6 people, that was abt $7 per person.
They felt that since our order was messed up a few times,it was only fair to give us an unheard of 60% off!
I would have liked to give them 2 stars for that, but I can only give 1.
And I'd like to mention that even though they did mess up some of our order, they immediately brought out the correct items when we mentioned the mistake.
All in all,I liked their menu, their food and their heart.Kudos to Venkat and team for keeping the spirit of entrepreneurship alive. Its people like these that start new restaurants and businesses and make yelping such fun!!

I went to this place yesterday for dinner. It was empty and most of them were having the chicken biryani. I went with it too. I like the look with onions, eggs, sauce and yogurt.
The first taste makes me felt it was ok. I am disappointed with the chicken where it was half cooked, I could literally see the pink color of the chicken meat. The rice was cooked well.. I liked peacock hyderabadi biryani than this place.
The service have to improve, these guys are just starting so I would not go hard on them...
I would give an attempt for this biryani and hopefully they get better..
