5 reviews for Hyatt Regency San Antonio
Before I start my review...I have to preface with the pain of $30 for valet parking. $24 for self-parking isn't much better, but I wanted to let you know this so I can pull up my pants and continue.
The Hyatt Regency San Antonio is a swell place. Geared towards tourists and business travelers, I was impressed with the level of service from the front desk and concierge. The rooms and decor were updated with a very nice color scheme. The grand King bed was comfortable to me, but the husband hated the saggy pillows and the stiffness of the mattress. It didn't bother me, but you can't please everyone. Honestly my favorite part was the bathroom. The back splash looked stylish and the bathtub was immaculately clean.
Now the things I didn't dig: The bar area wasn't impressive. I felt like I walked into a one bedroom tiki hut. Needs serious work - we had no desire to sit and enjoy our drinks in that atmosphere - it was almost laughable. The breakfast at Chaps was sub-par. I felt it was too expensive for the quality of food offered.
And the best part of our stay - we caught someone across the way, in another hotel videotaping us in the 'lovemaking act.' Totally our fault for not closing the curtains, but figured being on the 10th floor kept us away from voyeurs. WRONG! We caught the guy with his tripod and camera. This is not the fault of the Hyatt, but did make this trip memorable.

Excellent Hotel at a Excellent location.
Pros: On the Riverwalk, central location, Nice hotel, very friendly staff, pool and hot tub on 11th floor (very nice view of San Antonio and the Alamo at the pool), Luxurious bed, LCD big screen TV in room.
Cons: Parking is pricey but expected in great location by riverwalk(24 dollars overnight), very crowded during conventions.
I loved this hotel, did not eat at the hotel so i could not give a review of the restaurant. Had room service dessert, good but a bit pricey.
The staff is very very friendly. A representative walked by asking if i needed help while i was in the lobby looking at the hotel map. I would recommend this hotel to anyone that wants a nice hotel at a great location.
What a great place to stay if you are going to San Antonio. Right in the middle of the riverwalk and within 1-2 blocks of the Alamo and a mall. I have stayed here several times before and when I come back I will stay again.
The Hyatt Regency is located on the Riverwalk which allows you to see the sights of downtown. The rooms were excellent and the restuarant in the hotel was great. The only downside was having to pay $24 for self parking over night! I dont think I've ever had to pay that much anywhere.

Good location right on the River Walk, but the beds are hard and the walls are thin, so it wasn't the most restful place I've stayed. Parking is pricey--$23 for self park (but maybe this is normal for SA).
