I just attended a conference here, and everything went very smoothly. The staff were friendly and attentive, even when we arrived to check in at almost 4 in the morning.
The hotel has obviously been remodeled recently because despite the rather dated and generic exterior, the interior and the rooms are surprisingly fresh and modern. Our room was extremely aesthetically pleasing, with simple lines, neutral colors, and solid dark wood furniture with granite countertops.
The beds were the best - squishy and comfortable with ample pillows - too many pillows, about which I will never complain. I usually have to call down for more. The beds were dressed with soft down comforters with classic crisp white duvet covers and sheets. I loved the bed the moment I saw it and slept like a baby for my three nights there.
Nice place. Nice staff. Didn't have a reservation but they accommodated nicely and set me up with a nice room with a nice view that had a nice bed with some nice pillows.
Many "earthy" tones abound. Soothing. Thanks.

Good location and adequate hotel rooms and service.
Visited this hotel and conference area with my husband on a business trip. His company had a booth at a conference here and I wandered around the hotel and went to a local mall to shop.
Very nice facilities. I used the Internet/computer area reserved for guests, which was nice. Although we weren't staying there, I saw one of the rooms that my husband's coworker was staying in and it was comfortable, stylish and clean.
It's convenient to several restaurants and bars. Almost looks like a mini-Vegas in this area of town! We chose the Hard Rock Cafe but there are other options.
Super location! Practically next door to 4th Street Live! This Hyatt is clean and simple. Not too much flourish, as it appears to be aging. The staff is great, making sure I get what I need. The rooms (or at least my room) has no microwave or refrigerator. Housekeeping did provide me with a fridge upon request. The indoor pool, along with the gift shop below, and restaurants make it really convenient. In addition, the Hyatt is attached to Louisville downtown sky walk which is really nice when it's cold.
Great location, great service, clean & modern accommodations, and a great price - I booked a room on a Saturday night in November on Priceline for only $65! There's a parking garage on site with reasonable rates, 4th Street Live is next door and it's in walking distance of downtown attractions. The best thing about our stay was the down pillows and blankets - a phenomenal night's rest! We also had a few drinks in the hotel's lounge, which was cozy and nice. I would definitely stay at the Hyatt Regency again, whether I was in Louisville for work or fun.
My husband and I stayed here the night and night after we got married, and I am happy to say that those at the Hyatt Regency treated us very nicely! When they saw me walk up to the front desk in my wedding dress, they immediately upgraded our room and gave us breakfast vouchers - for free! This was especially nice considering I reserved our two night stay via http://Hotels.com - totaling to only $79 a night! The wait-staff at their restaurant were a delight and my husband and I had a long conversation with the chef about up upcoming honeymoon in culinary Las Vegas. The hotel also has boundless conference rooms and a few nice art shops. The Hyatt makes Louisville look good - real good.
Stay at the Hyatt Regency if: You are visiting Louisville for any reason; you live in Louisville and want a nice break from the monotony (or just want a nice view of the city from the 40th floor); you want to visit 4th street Live and need a place afterward to crash (the Hyatt is next door to the entertainment block); you are on business in Louisville and need a nice place to stay! This place is also probably child friendly and accommodating.
Don't stay at the Hyatt Regency if: you don't like nice-ness!
