The perfect place for a 4th of July family vacation in Texas.  Really nice staff, a huge lazy river for floating and the largest selection of fake booby soccer moms I have ever witnessed.

This is what makes America great.

We are just got here yesterday and so far all the staff that we ran into is really friendly and nice. We are enjoying the stay here so far. We will be here for about a week so I will update more later. Oh yeah, the rooms are cute and clean.

One of the nicest hotels in San Antonio......Far from the Riverwalk, but very
plush....I had a suite with a fairly large living room.  Room was very comfortable and furnishings are warm.....country like.

Great place for a business meeting...

My family and I stayed here last year and I just now thought to review the place. I give it 4 stars instead of 5 because I found the more casual dining to be a bit uninspired and the fine dining room to be a bit lacking in service. I wouldn't quite say it was unprofessional but it wasn't polished as you'd expect in a resort's flagship. I listed the price as moderate because even though staying on vacation I got a very good corporate rate.

To show how much we enjoyed this place I would tell you we planned to be here for 4 days and after 2 decided we couldn't bear the thought of leaving so soon and instead upped it to a one week stay. We were never bored even though the only offsite activities we engaged in were one day at Seaworld and another down at the Riverwalk (which disappointed us, other than the boat ride).

The man-made tubing river was a huge hit with the whole family (including our then 3 year old daughter who doesn't like to swim). We spent hours floating around every day we were there. The "river" has heavy shade almost everywhere and in one spot there is a sand beach. The river is "attached" to one of the swimming pools (which is nice enough on it's own). They have Camp Hyatt which was also nice - the staff is very young but handled the kids well.

This is a resort we could easily return to. Keep in mind it is more about families than romance.

We stayed here for vacation and i didn't really know what to expect. I have to say I was pleasantly surpised and really enjoyed the resort.
Because of the time of year, we didn't get to take advantage of the fun water activities (lazy river) but the main pool was open and quite inviting.
The highlights:
1) The staff. They were friendly and accommodating. They all said "hi" in the hallways and asked how our stay was going. I love that sort of attentive but not overbearing type of service. The valets were helpful with directions and close by restaurant suggestions.
2) The rooms. Well appointed and roomy. Lovely linens and comfy beds. The bath products were nice (the lotion was really nice) and travel toothpaste was nice to have. Because we were in a suite and a double room, the staff offered us adjoining rooms which we were thankful for since my 2 1/2 yr old was with me and my parents were in the suite. We really loved having adjoining rooms and the suite was spacious and open.
3) The casual cafe on Level 1 (I forgot the name) had a fantastic breakfast buffet at a reasonable price. Plus, my 2 1/2 yr old was free. The omlet station was great and the waffle and pancake station offered a lot of extras - cinnamon apples, chocolate chips, warm maple syrup, strawberries. We, also, had dinner here one evening and loved the dinner menu and buffet menu (catfish, ribs, garlic mashed potatoes, option filled salad bar, dessert bar).
4) The grounds were beautiful and we enjoyed a relaxing walk through the garden and out to the golf course.

The only things I was not overly impressed with was the TV's in the rooms were old. Flat screens are pretty affordable now and would be a nice bonus in the rooms. The cable TV selection was minimal. I would have liked to see more channels (Bravo, TLC, Food Network, NatGeo).

If I go back to San Antonio, I hope to stay here again.

So we just held our annaul AIA Beaux Arts Ball here last weekend. The suites are large and spacious. The banquet hall easily hosted our party of 1500+. Dinner was fantastic, filet cooked perfectly(very pink) and served very quickly. There is nothing worse than sitting down and waiting for 100 other people to get their food before you. Timed perfectly! I would definately recommend this Hyatt for any corporate event or fund raiser.Top notch all the way!

This has been my favorite hotel to stay in as far as US hotels go.  We go every year for the Texas Wildlife Association's annual meeting and just love it.  The rooms are strangely well priced and are just so comfortable.  They have a wonderful lazy river that you can float in all day long.  The food is fantastic.  The service is impeccable.  The grounds are very well kept.  If you're looking for a nice relaxing weekend, this is a place to go.
