I used to go here ALL the time when I was a little kid living in Wilton. My mom and I loved the indoor atrium with trees, waterfalls, grass... it really felt like you were outdoors when you weren't! The food was great and the staff was really friendly. We made it a Friday night tradition.
Since we moved to Boston, we often stay at the Greenwich Hyatt when we come back to visit. Unfortunately, as time has gone on, it hasn't been updated and has deteriorated. It's still FINE and is NICE, but isn't as great as it was. As soon as we entered the room, we noticed the smell of paint... then my mom began having allergies to mold. We assume they just pained over mold that was forming in the room. The atrium area is still nice, but some of the trees have died. The breakfast buffet (which was had coupons for) is $28! Seriously?!?! It's good, but not THAT good! Also, they've begun charging $10/day for parking, which is just ridiculous. It's not like we are in a city and there's a shortage.
All in all, the place is fine, just not amazing. If you are looking for a clean, nonfrills place to stay in a good location, then this is a good option. There's also a pool and workout facility which is decent.

Well, I finally made it to Yelp... Several weekends ago, I convinced my fiancee to stay here rather than the Manhattan Hyatt... Big mistake... We just stayed at the Hyatt Regency in Sacramento, and it made me think about how terrible the Greenwich establishment was. Fortunately for us, their food and beverage manager, and the bell staff outside were incredibly attentive. But the room was disgusting, and their lobby restrooms were filthy. They switched rooms for us, but... all and all, it was a sad visit. And dont bother the afternoon bar tender. She is too overwhelmed to function... And yes, the atrium could be beautiful if the carpets werent musty and the furniture worn and battered. The hotel is overpriced and in dire need of TLC...
I completely agree with Sara. The indoor atrium is very beautiful. But the room is very old and smelly. Sheet and towels are not clean. I think the management should seriously consider replacing all of the towels. It looks very old and dirty.
They do not have coffee maker in the room. It is not convenient for me as I drink tea a lots. But the hotel does serve Starbuck coffee and hot water in the morning from 6:00 - 10:00.
Be prepared to pay $10 plus tax for parking per day and $9.99 internet. When I checked in, the receptionist told me that wired internet costs $9.99/day and $5.99 for wireless T-mobil hot spot. However, I was charged $9.99 for T-mobile wireless.
Used to stay here every week for over a year. Ever since they got a new GM the place has gone down hill. They need a major renovation in the rooms. A lot of the rooms look worn and dated. They used to have really nice down comforters, and a great alarm clock but it seems like they've decided to cut back on costs and replaced things with cheaper items. The beds are still comfortable though! The staff is hit or miss but don't expect much in the way of service. The bathrooms are in need of help and even though they were once nice...they now have dirty vents, broken tile, and if you're really lucky...mildew.
Don't get me wrong. It's not as bad as it sounds. It's still a decent hotel but just no where as nice as it used be.
