Booked this hotel on Priceline. Got a great deal and was very satisfied with my overall stay. Conveniently located across the street from many restaurants and stores. The checkin and front desk people were very friendly and always had cabs waiting for me when I requested them. The personal attention of the bell staff was phenomenal, impressed me much more than my experience at the Hotel Monaco a few days later. Did not experience any issues with thin walls.

I did leave a blazer in the room and was able to track it down and have them hold it for me at the front desk. Really appreciated the above and beyond service here.

Kinda hate that they have 4 ESPN channels, but no Bravo or Lifetime (I wanted to see project runway!)

    Would definitely stay here again!

    This hotel was beautiful!

My husband and the boys were w/ me.  Hubs was there for buisness.  Everyone was so nice and helpful.  It is right across the street from the harbor.  Room service was nice for late night wings, fries and bread pudding. :)  We ate brunch at their cafe and that was an all you can eat deal.  The boys loved it and tried just about everything.  The food was not a disappointment.
The room was spacious w/ a nice view.  Clean and smelled good.

    Was this review …?

I stayed in this hotel for a girls night out this past February (a Bachelorette party for yours truly).  I chose that location to crash overnight because I thought it would be a prime central location for all the girls to meet and to take a taxi cab to whatever bars and clubs we wanted to visit.  Upon check in, I was upgraded to a corner room with a panoramic view of the inner harbor (could my "Bride to Be" sash have played a part in that? I'm sure!).

The room was amazing.  It seemed to be connected to another room (i later found out it was a party room), because guests would enter a small foyer area, with two doors inside, one of which was leading to our room.  (Read on to note the significance of this.)   I could tell it had not been used in a while, because there was dust on some things, but aside from that, a perfect location to prep and primp for a night on the town.   While the location itself was convenient in proximity to nightlife... the hotel itself was inconvenient for my friends to come meet me.  They had to pay and arm and a leg to park, and they needed a room key in order to have elevator access.  So, I had to send someone down each time to retrieve my guests as they arrived. OK, no biggie, after all that makes things safer for all.......

So with all this added security, why did I come home from the bars at 2AM, stumbling into my room with all my girlfriends, to find..... wait for it..... A HOMELESS PERSON SLEEPING IN MY FOYER!!!! Yes, there was a person with a large amount of bags and items, sleeping in the entryway between the hotel hallway and my room, with all his items sprawled across the foyer. How he got there, I have NO CLUE. The only thing I can think is that since my room was a corner room, perhaps he came up through the emergency stairwell.

Immediately, we entered my room (which required an additional key access... thank goodness), and dead-bolted the door.  We proceeded to call security, and watched out the peep-hole at what was to ensue.  Five minutes later, we called again to request assistance. I don't think it's unreasonable to expect security remove trespassers within less than five minutes. Finally, someone arrived, but instead of just telling this person that they had to leave, the security officer screamed and yelled, cursing, and making a scene.  I don't know if I was more appalled that I had a homeless person sleeping in the foyer of my expensive hotel suite, or that the staff had absolutely no decency in the removal of said person. If anyone else were in my hotel wing, I am certain they would have heard the degrading language that was used.  I was extremely offended at the way this situation was handled. I asked that the person be removed, but at least treat them with human decency.

The next morning, I had a long chat with the manager on duty about this experience, which resulted in not only profuse apologies, but also my parking fee (and all my friends') being waived.  This was actually a decent amount of money, since parking was pretty expensive here.   He assured me that the person who acted so unprofessionally the night before would be addressed.

So, why the reason for my 3 stars, you might ask? Well, I just really liked the hotel and the location.  Before (and after) the squatter debacle, I had a great time.  I enjoyed room service and dining in the hotel restaurant for brunch, and both were delish.  Maybe a little pricey, but most hotel amenities such as room service and parking are.  Plus, aside from the individual from security who acted so rudely, everyone else went out of their way to make me feel welcome and special.

Plus, what's a bachelorette party without an OUTRAGEOUS story like this?!
    ;)

Pros: the desk clerks are incredibly friendly and helpful, and the location is great

Cons: The walls are paperthin (you can hear everything in the rooms next door and in the halls). The security people are completely incompetent (they intentionally locked us out of our own room because of a noise complaint from the room next door, then when we complained about that same room later on in the night, they told us that no one was in there).

Exceptional hotel for meetings (we had two conference rooms for two weeks)- the staff of the hotel ensured we had everything we needed.

Great location- right on the harbour--TONS, and I mean TONS, of options for places to eat.

One of the better Hyatt Regency's--check in is fast, especially if you are a Gold Passport member. I appreciate that they upgraded me and I was on Regency level, with a huge room.

Downfall- there was some kind of cheerleading or volleyball comeptition at the same time and the parents of these kids who were staying on Regency Club level let all their annoying children take over the Club. There went all the food---all the areas to relax, and at some point some kids got into a scuffle and because I was entering and leaving the room at the same time, security told the hotel staff that I had started the altercation! It took a lot of investigating and by the end of the next day, as appalled as I was, the hotel apologized for their flub and banished the rugrats from the Regency Club.

Understandable mistake, and especially as a then-Platinum member, I was taken aback and how abruptfly I was wrongly accused of some disturbance.

OTHER THAN THAT, its a great hotel.

Oh yeah, prepare to pay an arm and a leg for self-park or valet. Either way, there went half your gas $$ for the day!

The location of this hotel along with the pedestrian walkways seemingly make this hotel a good choice. I stayed here for 2 nights to do some recruiting at Johns Hopkins Homewood.

The Regency club at this hotel was a complete joke and I can't believe they charge extra for rooms on this level for access to the club. The complimentary hors d'oerves (sp?) consisted of roasted veggies, Costco cheese and canned nuts. Yes, this was on both nights and therefore not an anomaly.

The room was absolutely huge although the layout was a bit odd. The desk was on the far side of the room facing away from the tv so I could only watch tv reflected on the mirror above the desk.

When coming back to the hotel in the evening there was a HUGE lawyers reception blocking the area from the pedestrian walk to the elevator. I was afraid I was going to get sued just trying to get to my room. Why the hotel set up the reception right in the way of other guests really baffled me as there were private reception areas available.

All in all, I wished I were staying down the street at the Intercontinental and confirmed my belief that Hyatt Regencys are overpriced, inconsistent, and cater to convention centers.

It's a great location if you're attending something at the Convention Center, and the rooms are entirely decent. The staff is courteous and the elevators are fast, but they seem to be a bit incompetent.

We faxed in a credit card authorization form to bill a company card *twice* and they still managed to screw it up and bill our personal cards. Apparently whoever received the authorization form just stuffed it in a file somewhere instead of entering it into the system, so the automatic billing just proceeded with our personal cards.

I had to convince the desk guy that they actually did have the form (which he found after searching for about 10 minutes) and wait for him to correct all of the reservations while I waited. He kept apologizing, but was just barely competent enough to fix the issue. I don't know about you, but I like dealing with businesses that have their affairs in order and know how to deal with issues decisively and confidently. These guys barely squeaked by.

Stayed here recently for a conference. The conference facilities were top notch and catering was decent. Hotel staff was friendly and helpful.

Rooms weren't anything special - my room just had a shower and no bathtub which bums me out. But the white ginger toiletries go a long way to make me forget that I can't chill in the bath.

Location was good - right across from the Inner Harbor and a $30 cab ride from the airport. Don't rent a car if your conference is at the hotel, it is a waste as you generally walk wherever you need to be. Just note that it can be sketchy downtown, so be aware of your surroundings and cab it for short distances if you are alone.

I stayed at the Hyatt this past weekend while in Baltimore and was very happy with this hotel. The staff was very friendly and accommodated our early check in.
The room was a perfect size and the king bed was very comfortable. It also had a partial harbor view which was a nice surprise. The bathroom had a nice tiling detail that reminded us of the ocean.
The hotel pool, located on the sixth floor, is a great addition to this hotel. It is clean and very big, with a large selection of chairs. Also there is bar at the pool.
The location of the Hyatt is the best in Baltimore, seconds away from the Inner Harbor.
I will definitely choose to stay here again!

Overall, this is a great Hyatt...very clean, modern, and the accommodations are superb. The service is outstanding, and it seems there isn't anything they won't do for you. Location is great...you have the inner harbor just out the front door and you can take the skywalks from the 2nd floor to just about everywhere.

My only beef is the fact they have nice HDTVs in each room, but the signal is not HD. You don't have access to changing the settings, so you get a really bad, stretched out picture that is extremely pixelated.

Other than that, this Hyatt is great...if I ever visit Baltimore again, I will definitely stay here.

The stand out thing about my 4th of July weekend spent working, and staying at the Hyatt, was that every employee manager was truly at our service. The smiles and extra efforts made seemingly at every turn, was the thing that I will remember and say about the Hyatt.
They train their folks right, and although it may be pricey, you can be certain you are well taken care of.
From the AM breakfast buffet on the Mezzanine level to the coffee breaks throughout the day, simply well done all the way around.

My only beef about the hotel is the ticky tack charges on Wifi. I hate that high end hotels do this. It is aggravating to no end not to mention a total rip off. Hyatt is not the only hotel that does this, unfortunately many of the high end hotels do this, like baggage fees, is is a way to squeeze revenue at every turn. I understand it, but would simply say,, my review would be 5 stars if not for this one stupid but important thing.

    Great hotel otherwise.

Let's start with the deplorable: it took me nearly an hour to check in.  On a normal Saturday evening, say 6pm, they had only two check-in clerks working and at least five people waiting in line for each.  After ten minutes of waiting, I was pointed to a self-check-in kiosk by a staff member (who inexplicably wasn't checking people in).  I stepped out of line to use it, only to have the stupid thing tell me to see an agent.  More waiting, I finally get checked in.  But on arriving at my room, the door won't open.  Even more waiting.  By now I'm late for dinner, great.

When I finally got into a room, the place was clean and modern, just what you would expect.  Plus the usual Baltimore touches where perfection is marred by the odd bit of sloppy work (misaligned plumbing fixtures).  Ahh Baltimore, how I've missed your charm.

Between $27/day self-parking and $10/day internet, they're catering to the business types who just expense it all.  Pleasantly, the garage is obviously patrolled by security, so my convertible felt safe.  I loved the automated voice on the parking garage elevators:  "welcome to Baltimore, please remove all valuables and lock your car".  You would be wise to heed that warning.

A polite complaint about the checkin process got my internet fee waived without argument, so the hotel earned back a star.  A solid 3, but rather soulless and greedy.

I've stayed at Hyatt Regency hotels in Philly, Chicago, and this one in Baltimore. This review pretty much constitutes my take on all three (and probably many other similar properties) although Chicago's doesn't have a rooftop pool like Philadelphia and Baltimore.

The good news: great location, friendly staff, impressive atrium and lobby, many nice amenities, small but adequate rooftop pool, very well stocked fitness center, BUT...

ENOUGH with the constant nickeling and diming! Just because expense account wielding, per diem brandishing, porn-renting business travelers and the blackberry/airport shuttle/never-leave-the-hotel-crowd are willing to pay for internet doesn't mean non-business, leisure travelers should have to. It's 2009, and internet should be, if not free, at least NOT BLOCKED IN THE LOBBY!!

[NOTE: You can take your laptop across the street to the Renaissance Hotel lobby and your wireless will work there.]

I suppose $27 a day self-parking is pretty standard, but there's ample street parking available behind the hotel and one block over.

And what's the point of having nice new flatscreen, high definition televisions if you're not going to pump in an HD signal?

Oh, and I saw Dick Gregory at the hotel bar. I thought he had died, but (if I may paraphrase Mark Twain) reports of his demise apparently have been greatly exaggerated.

I couldnt be happier to be Downtown walking distance from a lot of bars and restaurants.

About a 15 min drive from the airport. Costs about $30 by cab.

The rooms are in keeping with this class of hotel as was the service.

A few weeks ago we made a last minute one-night trip to Inner Harbor, and through http://priceline.com we landed a room at the Hyatt for a very reasonable price.  It's a very nice hotel, lovely views, and in a great location for the Aquarium and nearby shopping and restaurants.

When we first arrived they placed us in a 4th floor king room, but it wasn't roomy enough for 3.5 (the .5 is our 6 mth old bebe') of us, and the view was a bummer.  We asked if we could switch to a room with 2 doubles on a higher floor, so they moved us to a corner room on the 8th floor.  It was very nice, we had windows almost the entire length of the room, but the hallway lightbulb was out, so we could barely see to get into our room - it almost felt like we were trying to break into the boiler room, the way the uncarpeted, unlit hallway felt.  The bathroom was a good size, but could have used a shower stall - the bathtub/shower combo looked outdated after seeing the beautiful glass and tile shower in the 4th floor room.

Our first room had a modern sofa along one side of the room - the 2nd room had no sofa, chair or anything comforable to speak of that we could sit in.  So we could either sit on the beds, or in an office chair at the desk.  There was easily enough room for an easy chair or something similar.  Since we were only there one night, it wasn't a huge issue, but I had to nurse the baby a few times in the office chair.  Which was fun for wheeling around the room to check out the views after he'd doze off.

We asked for a rollaway bed for our 5 year old, and they brought one up right away.  The service was very good, although the folks at the front desk could have been a bit friendlier.

One last thought, the room service and mini-bar prices were absurd!  I told our daughter not to touch anything in the mini-bar.  If we had ordered room service coffee it would have been $8.  For one person.  For coffee.

Overall it was a good experience and we would stay there again - but be sure to take your own snacks and water.

I don't ever write reviews on hotels, nor do I ever write reviews on chain places.  But this Hyatt is an anomaly for me.  I'm actually a Hyatt-ho ever since I used to stay at the huge ass one over in Ann Arbor and collected a trillion points doing so.  I even got married at a Hyatt.

But this one was a special experience all together and for one reason only.

We got to our room after checking in; we had to settle for 2 queen beds because there was a conference in town and there were no more single kings available - the beds were so SMALL (which is why I docked a point), so I called downstairs.  Nice guy Adam at the front desk told me there were no more king rooms available - and then said hold on.  After a moment of silence he said "come downstairs, I have another room for you".

We get downstairs and Adam is nice as pie, he apologized for the small beds (what can I say? my husband hogs the space) and hands us the new keys.

We get to the new room, which is like a closet compared to the first room; but had a huge bed; I walked over towards the closet and notice a huge mirror, floor to ceiling.  As I go closer, I notice that it's not a mirror, but the entrance to a WHOLE OTHER ROOM!  We basically got a sweet penthouse sweet on the corner of the building with some sick views of the Inner Harbor and downtown buildings.  Not to mention, I got a late checkout too. =)

    Thank you Adam!

Can I just review the hamburgers at the bar? Oh dear lord, that was probably the best hamburger I've had in forever. Kinda raw on the inside, a little burnt on the out, on a fresh bun that was just sopping up the juices spilling down my hands. Oh, burger, I want you now. And the fries! The fries too were awesome.

Drinks, on the other hand, are highway robbery.

The hotel, you ask? The hotel was beautiful, had a great (and I mean great) work out center, and was really attentive to our needs as a huge conference. They even discounted us a ton of money because our needs changed. Not locked into a contract = awesome hotel.

Beds are comfy, and my friend even got upgraded to a harbor view because it was her birthday. Love these guys.

    Eat the burger!

I really loved the rooms. They recently had a $10 million dollar renovation so each room is equipped with modern looking furniture and flat HD tv's! So why the low rating?

The walls are really thin, so I didn't like hearing the neighbor's tv on at 8 am when I was still adjusting to eastern standard time from pacific standard time. Also, I knew a bride who got married here and the wedding planner WAS HORRIBLE. (This probably contributes to -2 stars) She was SO unprofessional, walking down the aisle right before the wedding began (is it so difficult to walk around?). No one knew where to go for hor deorves before the reception... she had to usher people around individually. And what tops the cake is that apparently she doesn't respond to emails and phone calls leading all the way up to the wedding. Yikes, would not have wanted to deal with her if I was the bride.

Otherwise the food was good and the rooms were visually appealing. Not to mention that the hotel is located right next to inner harbor, so that you can walk to the shops and the WTC... the aquarium and the science center and a lot of worthwhile tourist destinations. But seriously, for the price I'm paying, I'd really wish I could have gotten some more sleep.

We recently stayed here for a friend's wedding. The hotel was surprisingly nice. We were given a room on the 14th floor with a view of the other side of the U-shaped hotel building. We could see the harbor to our left if we tried really hard. The room was tiny. I felt like I was in Europe. The room had enough space for one queen size bed. Despite the size of the hotel room, everything about the room was nice. The room was clean, had nice modern furniture, modern bathroom, floor-to-ceiling windows, flat screen tv...etc.

The pedestrian bridge from the 3rd floor of the hotel to the Inner Harbor was a nice thing. Parking was expensive: $27 a day for hotel guests. Breakfast buffet was around $18 and pretty disappointing. I would have just walked up the street to Dunkin' Donuts for breakfast instead.

Overall, this was a very nice hotel to stay at. It's in a great location. I'd stay here again but would ask for a bigger room.

I thought the rooms were really quite nicely designed, the bathrooms in particular.

A gripe is that one thing I love about hotel sleeping are the blackout curtains. There are not. The glow a soft orange in the light.

Awesome location, GREAT view, comfortable beds, iHomes, flat screen tv's, big/modern bathrooms, friendly staff. I was completely satisfied on that end.
We had a suite on the 11th floor: big queen room joining a BIG living room area with modern furniture, tv and bathroom joining a room with two double beds and another bathroom. 3 bathrooms. 3 tv's. 3 iHomes all made for a great birthday weekend.

The glass elevators are beautiful and quite an experience (I am afraid of heights so the 11 floor ride was horrifying at times) but painfully SLOW. The hotel is huge and the wait for an elevator was unbearable at times. We went down to the bar for drinks and it took 15 minutes to catch a lift up to the room at midnight.

Other than the elevator issue I had a fantastic experience. We phoned down for a cot and it arrived in about 90 seconds.

My family and I frequent the Inner Harbor Downtown Baltimore are a great deal and we love to watch the fireworks and mostly enjoy our fourth of july holiday down here. However it gets extremely crowded on the harbor floor when looking for a comfortable spot to nestle and enjoy the festivities. It can also be quite scary with the overwhelming amount of people and noise sooo we decided this year the pool rooftop at the hotel was the perfect location to enjoy the festivities and avoid unnecessary anxieties as previously experienced. There was hotel security on the roof, not too big of a crowd, and it was quite comfortable and such a fantastic view of the fireworks illuminating the harbor. Overall we love the hotel. They have a nice pool, spa, hot tub. Exhibiting great customer service was key but the only down side to this hotel, which I had to shave off a star for was the fact that its already an expensive high end hotel, yet wi-fi service WAS NOT complimentary and hotel self parking was rediculously high. I stayed 3 days 2 nights and parking was $25 per day. I would definately stay here again but probably find a cheaper parking garage.

This hotel is wonderful!  The lobby is pretty - check in was simple - parking was simple and convenient - the rooms are all modern and updated - very clean.  The bathrooms in particular were exceptional.  The hotel is right across the street from Inner Harbor, which is really convenient - you're able to walk to everything.  I will stay here every time I visit.

    2.5 stars.

Location: Great location right on the Inner Harbor. There is a busy street to cross, but there's normally a skywalk. Unfortunately it was closed while we were there.

Cost: Not bad for a hotel of this caliber at just over $200/night on their website.

Room: Very comfy, great furniture and decor. Great shower, no tub though. Modern.

Amenities: This is where the problem arose. We came here for somewhat of a "staycation" and really only were looking for a nice outdoor pool and a hot tub - which the Hyatt offered, contrary to other nearby hotels. The pool was a wonderful temperature and had comfy lounge chairs all over. Pretty view when standing. There is a bar at the pool but it apparently is not always open (closed Friday afternoon/evening but open Saturday morning??). Lifeguard on duty.
The issue came with the hot tub...I could make this a very long story, but I'll just give you the gist. Essentially, a saga that started at 4pm didn't end until the next morning. It took maybe 7-10 times of calling and going to the front desk to get the hot tub on and at the correct temperature. It wasn't broken, it just hadn't been filled with water at the correct temperature -- and instead of fixing the issue when it first occurred, someone had just locked it off until we asked about it. We ended up not being able to use it for 1 day of our stay (even though they kept it open an extra 2 hours) because even with that extra time, they still didn't get it right. And it turned out that all they had to do was empty it out and fill it up with correct temperature water with a faucet. That took all afternoon, evening, and overnight because someone just...didn't do it.

Service: I think her name was Blayr, but basically there was a lady at the front desk that tried really hard to get this taken care of. She has earned back a star for this hotel. They did repeatedly call the engineer to just fix this, and he repeatedly either messed up or just didn't do what he said he would do. But, I do appreciate that we were given a free breakfast buffet the next morning for our troubles.

Food: Breakfast buffet is GREAT. Includes made-to-order omelettes, belgian waffles, and pancakes. Coffee and juice to your table. Love the bar. Classy.

Overall, this could have been a much better stay. The Hyatt has everything going for it, but the hot tub was definitely a problem. This may sound nitpicky, but again, it's 1 out of 2 reasons we came, was not actually broken, and yet it still took over 8 hours for them to empty out the tub and fill it back up again. I appreciate all the front desk staff tried to do to fix the issue, and for their making amends with breakfast the next day. However, I highly recommend (to the Hyatt) that in the future, they keep a closer eye on their engineering department.

While the staff was friendly, I could hear a loud recording from the garage in my room every 2 minutes "Welcome to Baltimore.  Please don't leave any valuables in your car".  Over and over and over again.  I was on the fifth floor so I'm sure several rooms can hear this.  I asked several times for it to be turned down, but it is their policy to play this all night long. Basically it was hard to sleep the two nights I was there.

Well, I'm a fan of Hyatts in general and this one didn't disappoint.  One of the first things I look for when I get into a hotel room is whether or not they have wireless internet - and this hotel does.  Why wireless?  It's just more comfortable to surf the web, do work, and stream video while on my bed than being wired to a desk.  The bed is nice and firm - great for my back.  I had breakfast at Bistro 300 - the yogurt parfair was pretty tasty.  Although the server seemed a little scatter-brained.  The staff at the registration desk was very friendly.  And there was a non-Starbucks coffee stand on the 2nd floor lobby so I could get my daily coffee fix.

My fiance stayed at the Hyatt and forgot his clothes in the closet of his hotel room. We didn't realize it for 2 weeks and they still had them! I spoke to Sabrina in housekeeping as she was super sweet and helpful and promised to get the clothes sent to us today! Great customer service!

Good location and a very reasonable price (less than $200 a night I think).  I was here for the past few days, so I think I got a good sense of this place.  It's located right next to the inner harbor which is nice for taken a walk around the water even though the inner harbor is a total tourist  trap.  This is what I'd call a convention center hotel, which I usually don't like because i find the staff a little less friendly typically and rushed.  I didn't get this sense here.  It seemed like most of the staff had genuine smiles.  I stayed on the 10th floor with an amazing view of the water.  It was a nice sized room with a huge couch located next to the window.  The couch was comfy and big enough to stretch out on.  The bed was okay, but nothing special.  The TV was new and a nice sized plasma.  The room seemed clean enough.  The bathroom I thought was a little small for my  taste especially the sink area, not really enough room to spread out your toiletries.  The shower was pretty good, I usually prefer a seperate bathtub and a shower stall, but I can't remember ever taking a bath in a hotel, so I guess it makes more sense to have a large shower stall which this one had.  I was really pleased that they had a super fast drycleaner that will guarantee your stuff back by 5 PM even if you  drop it off at 2 PM.  You have to pay double, but it was worth it for me not really having been home in a while.  The concierge was helpful enough, but I was a bit surprised at the place she sent me for breakfast today (more on that later).  Overall a good hotel at a reasonable price in a great location.
