The Good:   Clean, modern, and spacious room.  Great water pressure in shower and the large, swivel plasma TV.

The Bad:     Awful (but free) internet- seriously, a dial-up account would have been quicker and more reliable.  Both the heater/AC and small refrig. make too much noise.

This isn't one of the better Hyatt Place's I've experienced and the reason being that there is no central a/c or heating and the unit in the room is VERY noisy which makes for a rough night when you're trying to sleep.  Other than that, it's a very decent hotel with flat screen TVs, friendly staff and spacious rooms.

I really liked this place! I am a total hotel snob but I am fair.... at $85 per night, this place is great.

The family and I decided to tour the capitol of California and go up to Truckee for some snow play over the long weekend. Since we knew that we were going to be out and about most of the time, we didn't need anything too fancy- just a clean, comfortable and cost effective place to give us a couple nights of good sleep.

Well, the Hyatt Place was just perfect. The room decor was light, bright, simple and modern. The bed was very comfortable - not that much worst off than my favorite hotel beds at the W. It has a separate sitting area with a riding desk and a small bar w/ a mini-frige.... the wall-mounted plasma TV could also rotate enough that you can watch it from the bed or from the sitting area... it was nice...

It's rated 3-stars in Expedia; I think it couldn't be assigned to have 4-stars as there isn't room service or a full-service restaurant on-site - it also doesn't have a day-spa either... but, for it's purpose of simply providing a comfortable overnight place, this little hotel has it all. I would probably venture to say that it would be a great place to stay for business trips as well - as it's got all the "e" stuff that one may need.

I'd recommend it!

This hotel is run by a bunch of RACIST PIGS and I advice all minorities to stay away because you will be discriminated against. I don't know why they did not post on their website that they cater to WHITE people only. They still own cotton fields.

I had a great stay and have tried many hotels in the area since I visit friends each summer in the area.  This is my fav hotel.  Got a good deal on priceline, around $58 with tax and fees.

Wasn't put in the bumf*****d room since I had a priceline room, room 423, loved the decor of the comfy sitting area with large foot stool and the  bar area to keep my store bought drinks cold and the office area to set up my free wifi.  The closet was small but didn't use it and the water pressure was fine in the bathroom.   The bed and bedding was nice, after a day in the sun, very nice.

Didn't like the florescent table lamp over the desk and the old school AC unit in the window, noisy but definitely cold.   The bathroom door opens oddly into the bed, they should have used a slider or pocket door.  I didn't have a cleanliness issue like Dan R. had, so am pleased.

When I checked in, the front desk person was welcoming and Bonnie the breakfast hostess was chatty and welcoming.  I usually don't imbibe in breakfast but decided to try it my last day.  Hit it around Sunday at 9am, avail til 10am and was impressed on how clean and efficient everything ran.  The fresh melons were sitting on a iced counter.  Choices of cold and hot cereal.  Then the juices and milks were on another iced counter.  4 options of breads for the toaster, whole fruit and coffees and teas.  There was a kiosk to order more hot substantive breakfast and Bonnie was on hand to help with ordering and delivering the meal to the eating/lounge area, bussing the tables and keeping the free food replenished.  People were demanding even with the free stuff but Bonnie was a saint and friendly and helpful.  She even made free hazelnut Starbucks lattes and handed them out to the diners.

There is a bar and a cold case of drinks and prepared grab and go sandwiches and salads.  Free apples next to the reception area.

A great experience and I want to use this hotel again.

I'm completely impressed with the Hyatt Place.  I'm a bit addicted to Pricline, and I've had a string of bad experiences in 4* places.  I'm tired of paying $30/night to park, tired of buying a disgusting $20 breakfast, tired of paying $15 for a day of internet.   So, I decided to switch things up and bid on a 3*.  $41 later, I had the Hyatt Place in Rancho Cordova.

I'm sort of blown away.  The decor is nicer and newer than many 4* places, the rooms are comfortable, the front desk people are impressively friendly.  Breakfast goes a bit beyond standard continental fare with good fresh fruit and frosty juice.

Wifi is free, the lobby feels like a coffee shop (and they'll sell you lattes), you can apparently get food 24-hours a day and the outdoor pool is heated all winter.  What's not to love?

The Hyatt Place seems to be competing with other mid-range places like Marriotts and Holiday Inn Expresses - and from everything I've seen, it should win.

My minor complaints:  The heating/AC system is a bit old school, and the sheets aren't particularly comfortable.  I mean, not bad, just nothing to write home about.

At less than $50 - I don't think I've stayed in anyplace nicer.

Recently I was in Rancho Cordova around 8am. I had to go to the bathroom and I discovered the Hyatt Place. It's a very upscale motel or a very low-grade hotel. Upon entering I noticed that they have a full spread for breakfast and they have USA Today's laying about for anyone to read. So I grabbed a copy, headed for the lou for my morning constitutional and when I returned, I ate.

I broke fast with an English muffin that I toasted myself. I put peanut butter and honey on it that they so nicely provided. I also had Product 19 cereal with sliced banana, orange juice and coffee.

I highly recommend the free breakfast accommodations at the Hyatt Place in Rancho Cordova.  I don't know about the rooms, I haven't stayed there. Maybe they have a free system to remedy that.

...........................

I am changing my rating from 4 stars to 3 stars. Although the breakfast is FREE and that is a great thing, they don't serve hot food. I didn't realize that it was possible to get FREE hot food until I started my investigation.

I've stayed here twice now and I'm not impressed. I must have been REALLY tired the first time I stayed here because I thought it was nice. I was much more alert for my most recent stay and I was paying attention to the things that matter to me: Cleanliness, service, and food.

If I rated this place on cleanliness alone, I'd give it a big fat ZERO. The bathroom was visibly dirty and I literally lost slept over that. Gross.

My perception of the service here quickly declined when I reported the dirty bathroom and only received "Oh, I'm sorry about that" as a response.

The food is so-so. It's nice that you can get a full breakfast, but they were out of things I ordered and didn't tell me that until my order was delivered. Boo!

The fact that the rooms are brand-spanking new with 42" flat panels and wifi has not impressed me yet. Maybe the fact that a renovated dump like Amerisuites needs to remain open during the remodel into the new Hyatt Place as a self-serve hotel kinda chaffs my hide. I also get tweaked when my company makes a pre-paid reservation and the ultra-young help insists that they did no such thing. Maybe I still have bad memories of how gross this place was when I stayed here in a room that looked exactly like this when it was Amerisuites, but didn't smell brand new.

They need a bar here real bad. RC is a desert when it comes to any nightlife. Fortunately the Marriott down the road just opened a new Italian restaurant, which also needs a little improvement.

I hope this hotel is pretty low cost, because when I have to not only drag my bags to the room, but return the cart, I guess I get a bit edgy...

Update: The beds are pretty good, but at a corporate rate of $149, I don't know that it is worth it. I stayed in downtown Sacramento across from the Capitol for an individual rate of $159 - a much nicer place.

If WaMu bank ATM's with their clever chipper sayings and sort of annoying simplicity were to branch out into the world of the suburban business traveler hotel, this is the place dudes.

Now occasionally The Dude is forced to stay in a hotel or two because of travel related to his paying job.  Recently, this drew him to Rancho Cordova, a charming, yet boring and non walking accessible suburb outside of Sacramento.  Dudes and Dudettes of the business traveling world.  You know what I am talking about.  To find the joint by driving east on highway 50 until everything remotely exciting, entertaining, or with in walking distance of a hotel disappears.  Then you will be at The Hyatt Place, Rancho Cordova.

The Dude shouldn't blame Hyatt Place.  It probably didn't ask for that particular location.  In fact, it used to called AmeriSuites. The Dude swears this is true.  He stayed there once.  It looked way different.

In all honesty, the Dude found his room nice and spacious, with classy sort of modern decorations, but still in a hotel sort of way.  Nothing The Dude would want in his house at least.  But the place was very clean, and the room had a sweet 42" HD flat screen.  That may have been its saving grace.

The website advertises a kitchen where you punch in what you want on a handy little touch screen computer, and swipe your room card to pay for it.  The Dude was curious (and not in walking distance of anything), so he gave it a try.  He ordered the three cheese pizza and a green salad.  He received........ a plate of bagged salad mix with croutons and chopped tomatoes and a 7" microwave pizza.  It might have had some basil on top.  Disappointed, but willing to try again, The Dude ordered the veggie frittata for breakfast.  He received....... A 7" frittata type thing with eggs and pesto.  Also seemingly from the microwave.  It was sort of mushy.  Not that cool.

There is a beer and wine bar.  About $5.50 per beverage.  A six pack is $7.99 at Chevron down the road.  You choose.

So why stay at the Hyatt Place Rancho Cordova you casually ask the Dude?  Why?  Because every hotel in Downtown Sac that didn't guarantee gunshots and car theft with the room was booked up.  That's why.

So friends of the food and hotel reconnaissance world, if you need to go to Sacramento for business travel, everything downtown is booked, walking for entertainment is not important to you, and you enjoy overpriced microwave food.  The Hyatt Place Rancho Cordova is for you.

Just heed this advice.  Pick up a sixer of Heineken on the way, and don't order Spiderman 3 off the pay-per-view.   It sucked.  Just fond a place down town.  At least there are some good restaurants near by.

As always friends, keep rocking in the food world-
The Dude Abides.

I loved this hotel from the warm and welcoming atmosphere to the spacious/delightful rooms and the amenities!  My room was warm and inviting with an awesome 42" swiveling TV.  The wet bar was handy for making juice or cocktails, the bed like sleeping on a cloud and the sectional a great place for watching movies with friends.  The only complaints, the closet is miniscule and the bathtub in my room had not been replaced, so it was stained and outdated.

The staff were amazing, the free breakfast a filling compliment to the morning and the availability of 24 hour food and Starbucks at my fingertips was heaven-sent.  The hotel is pet and child friendly, which might bother some.  The rooms are non-smoking and a delightful bargain for those staying in Rancho Cordova.  I lived at the hotel for a month during business and found it well suited to my needs.  The staff was even so kind as to copy and fax receipts for my expense reports.  I would recommend this place to anyone and everyone!

the decor of the place was great.
the host, Pam was very friendly.
the man behind the counter on our arrival was friendly since Pam was with us. But during our checkout seemed a bit curt. Didnt bother to look or conversate with us.
the person behind the counter in the evening was friendly.

our room, walking in, was a pleasant site and cute place.  HOWEVER the smell the wafted towards us was not.  It smelled as if I walked into a bathroom of a rest stop.  I sprayed the area with some air freshner and opened the window and kept that window open all night!

to make things worst....while taking a shower, they do not have the tracks on the bottom of the tub.  i had slipped and caught myself.  if not, i'd have a major lawsuit.  you can see the bottom of the tub had the grippers, but if they came off or pulled off, should have been replaced.

these were my only 2 complaints.  if i had a choice to stay again, I would but would look at my room prior to keepeing it.
