LOVE THIS HOTEL!!! perfect location - close to The Woodlands Mall, the theaters, the Hudson & Hubbell bistro.
Hubby and I got the Grand Suite. the room was absolutely beautiful. LOVE the blackout curtains :D adored the shower but hubby wanted a tub to soak in.
The lounge area on the second floor was nice as was the food & looking at the infinity pool. was too cold for us to take a swim but was very beautiful :D

definitely would stay here again and recommend to others

A beautiful hotel with a few kinks they still need to workout in their room service.  the staff is very nice and helpful nonetheless.  The hotel concierge Rock is awesome.  ask for him if you need any special arrangements.

To add to what has already been said, I'll have to mention the pool on the second floor.  beautiful to look at and however because it is the center piece of the bar and lounge area, its really too awkward to be used in either the afternoon and evening despite the number of people coming up and sitting around it grabbing drinks.  Perhaps in the mornings when people are less likely to stare at you while eating their buffets while enjoying the outside terrace area, but for the most part its uncomfortable to be used probably for most women in bathing suits.    Make no mistake, a very remarkable place to grab drinks and a chat away from the teens running around near the theatre and park area of market street.

should i also mention wifi is free here?

Every now and then I really don't mind behaving like a celebrity.  Not Charlie Sheen/Brittany Spears type of behavior.  I don't have that kind of energy (or tolerance for copious toxic substances).  I'm more of a Catherine Keener/Javier Bardem sort of star: low-key, socially conscious, but still out of place in anything short of posh, and accustomed to hedonistic pampering.  Obviously.  So when a misguided [but apparently savant] administrative assistant booked a business trip to Houston first class [accidentally] and an Infiniti M rental [accidentally], and I'd instantly slipped into a state of imaginary fame driving north on the 45, I had high hopes I wouldn't be heading for some Marriott-esque chain hotel and watch my delusion come crashing down on a polyester floral print bedspread.

Voila: the AVIA at the Woodlands, a Benicio del Toro-worthy boutique hotel tucked in a corner of the fabulous Market Street shops and restaurants.  It's extravagant, but not in an old-school Ritz Carlton kind of way, and just small enough, modern and minimalist without being cold.  The lobby is simple, guiding you directly to a very professional concierge.  Within moments of arriving at valet, I had my key, dinner from a tapas place across the street en route to my room, and laundry service picking up the next morning.

The room was updated art deco, with a fabulously enormous shower, blackout drapes, and waffleweave robes to wander around in.  This is the kind of hotel that's actually thought through how a space functions, and done it stylishly, as opposed to the opposite--something you so often see in trendy spots these days.  Every detail was deliberate, down to the Dean & Deluca-stocked mini-bar and heated bathroom floors.

I didn't do much else in the hotel itself, as I was visiting the Woodlands for work, but every experience I had with the staff was courteous, friendly, and--most importantly--ultra prompt.  I did spend a few hours in the gym late at night, and it was well-equipped.  If I'd had time, the pool on the terrace would have been on my list as well, though it didn't look great for swimming laps.

Northern Houston is likely the last place most people would think of for a glamorous getaway, but next time Brangelina need to hide from the cameras, I highly recommend the AVIA.  I'll be at the bar in my aviators.

What a great place tucked into Market Street in The Woodlands!  Our room looked like something out of an HGTV makeover episode.  The bathrooms were a marvel to look at with the stone tile and wonderful showers.  Just wished there was more lighting.  The actual room was done in a chic and modern style with such an inviting feel.  Our bed was amazing!  Solid enough to support and cushy enough to sink into a cloud.  I felt so refreshed the next morning.  Wi-Fi is FAST and RELIABLE! Room service and valet get a high five from me.  They were professional and friendly.  The girl at the front desk seemed a bit frazzled when I called her from the room as well as when we walked by her downstairs.  Overall, a wonderful experience and would highly recommend checking out this place!

I haven't had the experience of staying here yet but the lounge upstairs is just what I have been waiting for in The Woodlands. With friends mainly on the opposite side of town, its a chic place where we all can hang out and have a great time.
They have great happy hours from 4-7pm and the bartender will usually have a specialty drink for that day. Definitely be adventurous and try it out because they are ones to remember.
The wine selections are pretty good. I enjoyed the reds that I had there.
The infinity pool looks really neat with an outside balcony view of Market Street and while speaking with the bartender, he mentioned that they do have a DJ that comes and they have music and a lounge time which seems pretty neat.

I will have to make my birthday an event here in The Woodlands!

Excellence.... should be the top rated hotel in the Woodlands
I booked a 'Romance Package' last year at Avia Hotel in the Woodlands. I had booked a couple of weeks in advance, for a Saturday stay. The guest relations person called me a few days before and informed me that they could not fufill the romance package as it was stated on the website. I was a little disappointed, at first.
However, they were able to compensate us very nicely. When we arrived to the Hotel, they dropped our rate and they upgraded us to the Presidential Hosting suite. This was like staying in our own nightclub/luxury condo. This was the nicest hotel room, by far, we have ever stayed in. I have travelled quite a bit throughout the U.S. and this room is the best I've stayed in. The master bedroom had both a very comfortable bed and blackout curtains. That was the best nights sleep we have had in quite some time. The bath tubs are huge and comfortable. The pool is very modern and heated. The Sunday Brunch was excellent. Both of us had omletes and French Toast. They were both very delicious. I highly reccomend breakfast at this hotel. If you are going to see a show at Cynthia Woods and need a place to stay, this is the hotel where you want to stay, period... There are also numerous shops right around the hotel.

    Stayed here April of 2010

This place is a cute, boutique hotel. Excellent for a more fun, casual crowd with a twist of high-end styling. Every single member of the staff we encountered was very professional and kind.

    What I love:
    - When I shared it was my birthday to the front desk, a few minutes later a member of guest services knocked on my door with a mini bottle of champagne, 2 glasses and a plate of chocolate truffles. Yes, please!
    - The black curtains - keep all the light out until you are ready to say hello to the world.
    - The location for a concert or playing/sightseeing in that general area

    What I would change:
    - The location of the pool in relation to the huge star we call the sun. Not an ideal location for a tan. Would be great if they heated the pool (YES, even in the summer) because it was too cold to go swimming as it never really sees the sun.
    - Our entire floor smelled like bacon. This isn't exactly horrible (who doesn't like the smell of bacon?) but we were on the 5th floor and nowhere near the kitchen. A bit odd.

I would stay here again...no doubt. I enjoyed my stay!

I haven't had the pleasure of staying at AVIA yet, but after attending a Spring Fashion Show last night, some friends and I decided to stay for a drink and a bite.  Their happy hour lasts from 4-7 pm and includes $2 off wine, beer and champagne and half-off "libations" from the mixed drink menu.

We decided to order 5-6 plates from the cuisine menu and share.  I should have known better, they were too tasty to try to share.  We started with the Woodlands Cobb salad: a mix of guacamole, lettuce, red beans and fresh tomatoes, beautiful rectangular presentation included.  Then came the steamed mussels - what is that taste? Why yes, it's Shiner Bock beer.  Needless to say, we fought over the last two.  And the buffalo loin was tremendous, you could cut it with a fork and it came with the crispiest french fries this side of I-45.

I decided to stay with champagne for the evening, but my compadres ordered an assortment of red wines - and were very impressed with the drink menu.  To top it all off? We sat outside with the cool Texas evening breeze poolside and a view of Market Street.  Oh, what a night!

Beautiful establishment, but I've been trying to get a key contact person for a special event for about 3 months. You have to go up there to get someone to notice you. Bad online communication. Furthermore, great room specials! Nice pool area and expert design trends throughout this quaint-luxurious hotel. There is live music on the weekends and their drinks are smooth.
If you are ever walking by in the Market Street, stop in and say Hi to the friendly staff that awaits you!

In three words, the AVIA Hotel is modern, funky and seriously sexy!

The AVIA hotel is a new boutique hotel in The Woodlands, Texas in the Market Square area. The hotel opened on December 15, so it had literally been open two weeks when I arrived for my stay.

A valet/doorman greets you at the entrance and although I self-parked (the parking lot is literally in front of the hotel), it was nice to have that option. The staff at the front counter were very welcoming and friendly. I was checked in quickly and when I asked that my request to face the market square was honored, it hadn't been, but they quickly changed my room to meet my request.

The hotel décor is clean and contemporary with a tree theme that's carried throughout the hotel (because I'm smrt like that, I'm guessing it's because the hotel's located in The Woodlands). Being that the hotel was only two weeks old, everything was spotless. Lounge music is piped throughout the hotel in keeping with the funky vibe.

I stayed in a suite on the top floor with a sitting room and a master bedroom. The room colors were deep hues of purple, black, and silver. There were 50" plasma TVs in both rooms and a mini-frig that had a large space reserved for guest use which I thought was a nice touch. The bathroom was very large with a huge stand-up shower. The toiletries were made by Lather and were Bamboo Créme scented. The bed was one of the most comfortable hotel beds I've ever slept in and the feather pillows were fantastic -- not too high and not too low. My favourite thing about staying in a hotel is the black-out shades and the room darkening in the AVIA was the best I've ever had. It was so dark that I literally could not see my hand in front of my face, which is good for lots of things, not the least of which was an excellent night of sleep. Ahem. ;-)

I had called ahead to ensure that the restaurant was open and was assured that it was. When we got to the bar (which was very hip and with an excellent selection of drinks), we asked to see a dinner menu and were told that the restaurant was only open for breakfast. This would normally be fine were it not for the fact that I arrived on Christmas night and literally had nothing to eat. We ended up going to the small bar at the Marriott hotel down the street to have hamburgers -- not exactly the Christmas dinner I had in mind, but sometimes you have to put on your improvisation hat and work it out! I did partake of breakfast the next morning and it was delicious -- I had the egg white omelette with mushrooms and spinach, wheat toast and potatoes. The food was served at the appropriate temperature (a big pet peeve of mine) and the service was excellent. It was expensive, but because the hotel had just opened, we were given a $25 food and beverage credit, which helped offset the cost of the brekkie.

The facilities, as mentioned, were exceptional. The pool was gorgeous (see photo) and the fire pit is lit nightly from 4-8pm. I used the fitness room, as well, which was very well equipped with brand new treadmills (they even had fans built into the machines!) and Precor machines. Large towels and water were provided.

Complimentary umbrellas are available at the exit of the hotel in case of rain. Nice touch.

Overall, the AVIA is a fantastic hotel with a ton of potential. I gave it four stars since I couldn't eat anything but eggs and because of the scrambling around to try to find something to eat on Christmas night. I would highly recommend the hotel and will likely stay there again.

Very cool hotel. I end up in The Woodlands every few months and to be honest, never really looked forward to it (besides seeing one of our clients). The staff and this hotel is very professional and super attentive. Very cool spot to grab a beer and/or a glass of wine. In addition the rooms are great. I will actually look forward to going to The Woodlands now. (I know, Austin snobbery)
