Ok, there is something one must understand before reading all these reviews. Husky boy hamburgers has been in laguna beach for a long time, however they have gone through an ownership change and let me tell ya, a great one at that. the "old husky" was greasy and I used to be able to smell it from my place three blocks away.

When i said i could smell it, it wasn't in a good way, the "new husky" is almost an entirely new place, clean crisp fries, tasty big burgers with fresh lettuce and tomatoes and great ranch dressing for dippin!

The service is really fast and always accurate for me, i had one instance where they had neglected to give me my fountain drink and two weeks later i came in and mentioned it and they had written my credit into the system and put it toward my new order acknowledging the mistake and informing me they doubled the credit due to my inconvenience.

I recommend the double bacon swiss avocado with fries and ranch, so good and really friendly people as well.

This burger shack is quite a nice surprise  during my visit to laguna this weekend. Well more than a burger shack, it has mexican food, sandwiches, breakfast - actually come to think of it, it's more like a diner shack. this is my friend's go to spot for breakfast lunch or dinner since he lives a block away and it came highly recommended for some philly cheese steaks.

It was 10am so i got the breakfast bacon and egg sandwich instead. For $5 it was sort of mediocre. I'm used to the over easy eggs and crispy bacon wedged between two pieces of bread, breakfast sandwich. But Husky boy's is dry scrambled eggs, crispy bacon AND lettuce AND tomato wedged between two pieces of bread. I'd rather have the runny eggs and no veges.

Ok for a quick bite but I didn't see anything special about the cheeseburger..or fries. Boyfriend said he went here almost everyday after surfing. It was a plain burger and tasted like a plain burger but it was my fault for expecting something more. I thought I was missing something that should be obvious when someone goes here everyday. But no, I'm normal. He's crazy. Burger is ok.

When I was a Laguna Beach resident in college, this place was a staple every Friday. My roommate and I would get our food to go and sit looking out over the ocean. Those were the days....

This place is busy no matter what time of day. I have never had the breakfast items and have only had the cheeseburger and fries for as long as I have been a customer here. I double dare you to find another location that serves a better ranch dressing than Husky Boy. They won't tell you what the secret  is so don't ask.

    FYI
*The burgers are served on egg burger buns
*Parking can be tricky during pch rush hour
    *limited hours into the evening
    * the food is fresh so expect to wait a little bit
    * they offer lighter options including french fries

Downside....they charge for any little extra thing. Ranch is 0.35.

The burgers are good.  I enjoy the BLT the bacon is perfect.  There is not a lot of space outside to eat but if you are patient one will open up,  The zucchini is wonderful.  Remember it is not a low cal place called Husky Boy.

You gotta love a place named "Husky Boy," and love even more the fact that they serve a Polish sausage sandwich.

That's right, Polish sausage slices fry-grilled on the flattop and served with lettuce, tomato, mayo and mustard on toasted rye bread. Great Zeus's Testicles, this was good.

I accompanied my Sandwich of the Titans with a vanilla shake and quite nearly went into an ecstasy-induced fit. I'm surprised I didn't start speaking in tongues.

To think that I've lived in Aliso Viejo for more than a decade, quite possibly passing by Husky Boy a hundred times or more, astounds me. I had always wanted to stop by here (I'm strangely attracted to walk-up eateries), so I'm glad I did.

I'm looking forward to the next chance I get to go back. There are tons of other tasty-looking selections on the menu, but damn, it's going to be hard passing up that Polish sausage sandwich and vanilla shake one-two punch.

What can I say about Husky Boy?

Burger place in Laguna. I only eat here occasionally after surfing. I've only had the bacon, avocado, swiss burger but frankly that's all I need to accurately give this place a healthy four stars. Fresh DIESEL sized portions here at Husky Boy.

The parking, the staff and the seating setup could be a touch better but what do you want for a walkup joint?

If you're in Laguna or passing by in wet shorts and sand on your feet and want to avoid the HiFashion vibes, Husky Boy is waiting with greasy, open arms.

They have Orange Bang. And they will make you an Orange Bang shake! Which was amazing. Not going to lie. The most amazing thing ever.

This is the location of some of the best food around. I had done a side limo driving job and I waitied out my time here. The cobo chicken and beef bowl that I had that first time was hot, delicous, and very filling. While there is no place to sit down inside, there is plenty of benches outside for large groups. The second time I came here I had gotten off work in Irvine and realized that I wanted something different. So I headed south on the 133 toll road turned right and went down the road a few miles. This time I ordered the bacon cheeseburger with fries. Again I was highly impressed as i ate my burger first and then looked at my fries that had been sitting there the whole time. WOW the fries were still hot and really good. I just might make this place a every two week thing as I live in Riverside.

After going on our hike, we headed out here to replenish all the energy we used up most of the day.

It happened to be a beautiful day that day and nothing would have been a more perfect way to end a long hike like that than going here to grab something to eat. It's your basic no nonsense burger joint that offers other fare for you to eat.

Considering I burned x amount of calories (which took hours), I didn't feel like gaining it all back by wasting it in a couple of minutes by eating a cheese burger. So, I opted for the grilled Tuna melt(even though it probably wasn't THAT healthy). I chose wheat bread and it was really good. It didn't seem to be drenched in mayo and was grilled just right. I also had a Orange Bang. Yes, yes, more calories, but damn, I think I deserved to reward myself after that hike.

The seating is all outdoor and for you smokers, don't even think about lighting up at this establishment. I guess in Laguna, there's a ordinance about smoking around people who are eating. You would basically have to go on the sidewalk and smoke.

A fairly good place to eat, not cheap, but not too bad considering it is in Laguna Beach and you do get that al fresco eating experience.

Laguna Beach in a 65 'vette with a cute blonde, a boogie board and hangin' at the Husky Burger. Damn. That would be perfection, but if don't have the car, the blonde or the board and you're in Laguna, don't miss the Husky Burger. This is a classic "beach burger joint", where you order your food through one window and get it at the other one, and then sit at a table outside. And what a choice...singles, doubles, triples. Bacon, cheese, avocado, even Kobe Beef and turkey burgers and more. Fries that are actually potatos! Shakes! Cold soda! Man...it's real food, so good you expect to see The Fonz stroll in to give it his 'thumbs up'.

    Update 11/30/07:

The Husky is still a cool place, but the owner has fallen prey to the "Notice to Customers" disease, and it has gotten weird: There's a charge - $1.00 I think - to use a credit/debit card, the rest room is now not available (due to "sabotage"!), and every few days it seems like another "notice" covers the front bulletin board, I mean window, so you can't see in.  The staff still smiles, the food is still great, but it is getting the feeling of a Middle School cafeteria: "Don't break any  rules or we'll send you to the office."  So the ambiance is down. From 4 stars, I'm changing this to a 3.

1.5 Stars.  I give it more than one star due to the idea.

After craving burgers all day, I was looking forward to checking out a burger joint that I have never been to.  And boy was I disappointed!  After reading all the reviews...I was hoping for something really good.  Sadly for $7, the price and location was just not good enough.  I ordered the pastrami burger which was $7.  The combination just sounds good doesn't it?  Well, the patty meat was very thin... buns were eeeehhhh... blah!  The combination of pastrami chili and fries were really appealing too BUT for $7... not too sure.

There is no inside seating...just outdoors... all seating were near garbage cans or dumpsters.

I felt bad that I had to drag my bf there...cuz he wasn't too happy either with the quality or price.  At least I know NOT to go back there.  Would have been so much happier if we went to the near by sushi or taco place.

Never been so disappointed by burgers this much...so sad so sad.  If you want burgers...go to the Counter.

(I think there aren't enough bad reviews for this place b/c people are just too lazy to... but I'm doing everyone a favor by saying...do not bother!)

I, being a boy cut from the cloth of husk, can honestly say I love husky boy's breakfast burrito. I was starvin' like Marvin in Laguna Beach after a lack luster art show. Praise jebus for the love I was provided with. Nicely wrapped in white butcher paper...I found a burrito that consisted of  eggs, finely shredded crispy hash browns, cheese, bacon, and salsa (your choice of hot or mild). Simple sweet and right to the point excellence! I cannot comment on the rest of the food, but the breakfast burrito was awesome.

My first five star review and well worth it:)

My good friend Arianne N. has been wanting to take me to Husky Boy burgers for quite some time now, and last weekend we finally went!

Quite a good burger! I didn't find the meat to be anything special but when it was all together, really good! Pretty overpriced though, but what can you expect for Laguna Beach.  And the fries are aweeesome especially with some seasoned salt on them.

I got the bacon and avocado burger, but I asked for it on Sourdough bread like the frisco burger.  Amazing!! So I recommend asking for sourdough instead :)  If you look at the picture I'm adding you'll have to run over there right now!

Would be a great place to sit and eat in the middle of summer after going to the beach!

Wow, 7 months since I have written a review..yikes!  Its not that I haven't done anything or gone anywhere...

Anyhow, we (me and wifey) have moved back to the Beach..farewell Aliso Viejo.

Newly located in North Laguna, I was out exploring a few weeks ago and came across Husky Boy Burgers.  I was alone at the time, and even though I had heard conflicting reviews, thought, what the heck, wife isn't here to stop me from raising my cholesterol a little higher...

So despite the feeling of not being a local yet, and getting the look from the cashier of "oh, another tourist"..I placed my order and am glad i did!

Just ordered a cheeseburger and fries.  It immediately brought back memories of the corner burger place back home (Toronto) where this awesome Greek family seemed to have a special way with an ordinary grill..not even flame broiled!

But some things are just great they way they are...and Husky Boy is one of them.  The thick cut fries, still crispy, not soggy, with seasoning salt sprinkled liberally throughout...yum!

Walked down to the beach, found my fav rock and chowed down.

Fresh tomato, lettuce, a touch of onion...ketchup, mustard..a good ol fashioned burger the way it was meant to be.

Since that fateful day, I have returned 2 times, tried their signature "frisco" burger (on sourdough...blah blah..) but still for me, a good ol' cheeseburger is the way to go.

One thought, DO NOT order the large fries unless you have someone to split them with...they are massive!

    Try it out...

This is probably the closest thing to affordable to the middle class you'll find in Laguna Beach that isn't some boring chain.  Don't get me wrong.  Chains have their place, but there is something unnatural about eating at a chain restaurant in a place as unique as Laguna Beach.  Seating is outdoor only, and it's just a walk-up window with a kitchen attached.  It even looks a little run down, but don't judge a book by it's cover.  This place has the best burgers, sides and shakes in miles.  Everything seems to be made to order.  I recommend a Frisco Burger, fried zucchini and a root beer float.  Then take your burger, zucchini and float to a little beach and just chill.

Everyone in Orange County should take a trip to Husky Boy Burgers.

Their trademark pastrami burger is sure to give you a heart attack and it tastes absolutely amazing while doing it. They also have damn good adobo which is a huge treat if you weren't feeling like traditional American fare.

It is right off of PCH with tables outside and no umbrellas or anything silly like that. You also get a pretty nice little view of the ocean while you munch down on that wonderful, and reasonably priced, burger.

Big juicy burgers, with a helping of french fries, salted with some sort of delicious seasoning salt, and an ice cold diet coke is heavenly. Go here, you will not be disappointed.

We were intent on diving at Shaw's Cove and needed carbs to fuel our day. You don't sit inside Husky Boy Burgers; you order at one window, pick up at another, and you can sit at the tables nearby to enjoy your order. The menu looks like a multinational team effort...a little of everything...but we enjoyed everything we ate. The orange juice was freshly squeezed. The chicken teriyaki was tasty. The sandwiches, burgers, tacos were quickly prepared and just as quickly devoured. There's room to park, and a restroom for customers. The "dress code" is Orange County casual (bathing suits, gym shorts, T-shirts, etc.). If you're into very healthy food, I suggest you keep driving. However, if you're driving by on PCH, it's located diagonally across the highway from Laguna Sea Sports, which is somewhat more visible. If you blink, you'll miss it.

The best burger joint in laguna!!!! Where else can you get a choice of a kobe beef, ostrich, or pastrami burger ? The prices are low, the owner is always always extremely friendly, and the ranch and thousand island dressings are creamier and more delicious than one can imagine. There are a million other choices of sandwiches or salads on the menu and they have a special deal for kids. I highly recommend the ostrich burger: much leaner and it tastes just like beef. .... FYI they usually close early, like around 8pm because most of the workers have to catch the bus!

This little burger joint is delicious.  From PCH it doesn't look like much, but there burgers are very good, and the thousand island sauce they use makes them all the better.  The fries are thick cut, and definitely worth ordering.  My friend and I discovered that you can ask for cheesy fries with grilled onions on top and then dip them in either thousand island or ranch, which makes a great snack or to accompany your cheeseburger.  I have yet to try any of their specialty burgers or shakes, but there is a lot of choice, esp. for those who do not like hamburgers that much.  Great location, great food.  It is a little pricey, but they serve you a lot, and if you make a meal out of it you will be satisfied.  It is worth the extra couple of dollars.

Well, I was really excited to go here the day before yesterday.  The location is definitely enjoyable!  I ordered the Frisco Burger combo meal.  I was disappointed in the size of the hamburger patty.  It was like the size of InNOut  patties!  For this price I was expecting a really healthy sized burger.  It wasn't bad, but maybe I just tried the wrong thing.  All in all it was average at best.

This place is pretty pricey for what you get...we ordered the philly cheese steak sandwich and bacon swiss avocado burger and the total came out to $16.29, for the two burgers only! Although the burger was fresh and tasty, the philly cheese steak was another story. The meat was bland, and the mushrooms were canned, not fresh. For $7.99, the philly cheese steak was a huge disappointment.

My parents never really understand why I'm so adamant on doing summer school in college. I don't think they've come to the realization that half of the time I'm doing my homework on the beach.. or at least bringing my book to the beach. Summers in the OC are the best. After a fun time of playing around in the tide pools near Shaw's cove I always got hungry for some odd reason and sushi never seems quite right nor appealing after watching sea critters for a day. Enters in Husky Boy Burgers! It's the perfect compliment to a beach filled hot summer day. I usually order the Frisco burguer. One time I felt like going super baller and ordering it with the kobe beef patty because my passive aggressive side didn't want to fork over that extra $1 or so for using my card for a total less than $6 or whatnot. I didn't regret it. Yeah it's a little pricey for what it really is, but don't stress too much over those extra quarters or so. It's a great way to end a sun soaked day.

OMG this place is sooo bad,  first its pricey lets see 2 burgers, fries & drinks and two kids meals for $32.00 yeah I've eaten at sit down for less,  the food portions were small to med sized and I left hungry,  add insult to injury they charge .50 cents for soda refills, the workers barely speak english you have to realy listen to what their saying to understand them.  No complaints about the taste of the food but then again no real compliment either it was standard burger.  Dont waste your time or money on this place.
