If you want a really good burger, I really recommend this place. I went there on a prayer this week not knowing what to expect and was pleasantly surprise by the quality of the meat. It was very fresh and had a very good flavor. I order the Double Meat - Double Cheese and it was a huge chunk of cow!!!! The thing was big and they had to roll me out.... Chili cheese fries hit the spot as well. They also had items for the person who is more health oriented like chicken, turkey and veggie burgers. Also, this guy had a ton of different combinations for burgers - so do not worry about just eating a plain burger if you decide to go. Sandwiches of all kinds are on the menu and salads so this should satisfy just about anyone's cravings.... Enjoy and let me know what you thing!!! C - Ya!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oaklawn just would not be Oaklawn w/o Hunky's. Though there are plenty of things on the menu I should never had even considered (for health reasons), I have never had anything that was not well prepared and exactly what was expected.
And though its gay central for Dallas, the staff could care less. They are there because they want to be. While the passing eye candy may not give you even a first glance, the staff will always be attentive and welcoming.
And it is truly the best burger in town.
The additional tips reminded me..... Yes its casual - even if that means a tiara and your best Louboutin's or your chaps and chains.

I love this place! The burgers are great and available a million different ways (I love the jalapeno burger and the bleu cheese). Obviously a place to go when you are blowing the diet for the day. Everything good on the menu is deep fried or threatening to be deep-fried. Order up and worry about it at the gym tomorrow.
Great location on the corner of Gay and Gayer, so get ready to see and be seen.....and on a nice day, why not? I do wish they kept late hours though.

God, Hunky's will never die.
In the constant turnover of the businesses near Cedar Springs and Throckmorten, Hunky's has managed to last.
Food is decent although greeezy. You leave smelling like the help. Unless you get a special, prices are a tad higher than they should be.
But, Hunky's is just one of those places you eat at just because.
Pretty good burgers in the center of the gaybourhood. I usually have their turkey burger and fries when I go and the husband has the hula burger. They're good but we usually go there to be in the da'hood and watch da'boys.
I like the outdoor sitting area although that tree up front needs more water and they can tidy up a bit outside. I like their staff - friendly and the guy at the register is usually pretty cute.
Support Hunky's!
Pleasure food for sure, don't go in thinking you will have a lite meal. Burgers are nice and greasy. I am really not in that area of town, but when I have been it's a good place to eat.
Right on the corner of Throckmorton and Cedar Springs, this diner is right smack in the middle of Dallas' gayborhood...
The diner is just okay, it's rather inexpensive, and the food is pretty average (greasssssy!) They close pretty early which bugs me. Most diner-type places are open 24 hours for those who like to get a bite to eat when the clubs shut down at 2 in the morning. Ya heard?
I wouldn't recommend it, but i wouldn't stop you from going there neither.
