What an awesome find!!! We almost didn't stop because it just seemed like a small park and view point. There is a one way road with some tight parking but it is worth it!
This recreation site has picnic tables, a sheltered beach, and its not over croweded.
There were only about 10 cars here and not many people at all. We took a walk down the beach and saw a seal up on the beach, starfish attached to one of the rocks, and sea urchins.
The beach was easy to walk on and I could've stayed all day!
A must stop!! -

Just down the road from Cannon Beach on the way to Manzanita....nice rock formation with a small waterfall around the rock with the cave.
Go during low tide and walk around the rocks.
Seems very secluded and quiet.

What a super cool spot. We stopped here as part of a mini coast-tour and I loved it. One could post up and relax for hours here, if the tide's out, you can maneuver around a couple of different little cove/cave areas and just watch the waves. We were so lucky to have been there on a super sunny day and all I could think the whole time was, "Good gravy, Oregon is so dang beautiful".
Love it. -

While I can thank that white-haired fellow in Dublin Ireland for showing me the certainty of my own mortality, as only an Irishman can, it was the creature at Hug Point that showed me the precise moment of death.
I watched the light in his eyes fade and harden into a pearl. He had been waiting all day for a witness. Then he could let go. One of the most profound moments of my life. When I die, I want my ritual, whatever that might be, whatever my friends can get away with, a blazing funereal pyre I hope, to be here.
But, it's not all serious and melancholy. Hug Point is full of life and joy too, and plenty of fun memories. L. flashing her perfect breasts at a family posing for a formal portrait. R. flying kites for the first time. J. smoking and muttering while collecting stones for her garden. E. doing stand-up comedy for an audience of waves.
The picnic area opens onto the easy-to-access beach. A small waterfall, a cave, and a trail offer plenty of exploration opportunities for those less inclined to ponder death on a beach.Listed in: I'm feeling EMOtional, Get Out of Town - Coast

Rocks give-way to beach, which is kind of a quaint little beach. Fortunately there doesn't seem to be a ton of people to clog it up, at least when I was there.
When the tide is out, you can run (hopefully not stepping in a huge puddle like I did) around the surrounding cliffs to another cove area complete with waterfall and small caves. Apparently there is more to be had the further north you go, but the tide was coming in to quickly to investigate. I was already wet enough from my puddle-diving adventures.
The caves, cliffs, and waterfall are a nice contrast to the normal coastline along Seaside and Cannon Beach. On a sunny day, you almost don't feel as if you're on the Oregon Coast anymore. If you were alone, you'd almost think you were on your own deserted island.
Avoid being tempted to climb the waterfall. That thing is slippery as hell.
Still, absolutely beautiful. -

Hug Point is about 5 miles South of Cannon Beach.
You drive down into a parking lot right off of Hwy 101 and have a short (100 foot) hike down onto the beach.
This is a great little beach to visit. You encounter rocks that can be walked over at first and then the nice sands of the beach.
When the tide is up, it's a much smaller beach that has the feeling that you are in a cove.
When the tide is out, to the North, you can walk around the rocks and find a whole other beach with a waterfall over some rocks. GORGEOUS.
Please be careful of the tides though... It could leave you stranded for quite some time if you don't want to get wet getting back to the beach right below the parking lot.Listed in: Oregon Coast

Hug Point is cool. It's small but the rocks are fun to climb on, take a seat and watch the ocean. A great place for photography but not my favorite for hanging out at for hours.
For people who love long walks on the beach, this isn't your spot. Nature lovers and photographers who like small secluded areas, this is for you. Although I wouldn't call it secluded, given it's popularity!Listed in: Cannon Beach

We stopped here on our drive down the Oregon Coast - absolutely gorgeous. I loved the landscape here with the craggy rocks and cliffs, smooth stones in the sand and a flat beach. The water was beautiful. There are also public restrooms that were surprisingly clean for a public beach site.
There's all kinds of ocean life living in the rocks in the ocean, and it's fun to explore them. I'm so glad we stopped at this beautiful place. -

Really nice little beach. Pretty photo ops along the sides, there is one huge cave and a really big nice rock on one side. The tide was half in when i was there, so im not sure if you could walk further. Very lovely little spot.
