Kelly is the absolute best. I love that although she is open to ideas and whatever I want, she doesn't grill me I can say "like you did last time" or "let's go darker" and she just nails it. (I want a stylist who knows what looks good and helps me get there.) I can't say enough good about her- she trains other stylists in the US on what is trending. Despite her qualifications her prices are very reasonable! It is upscale and clean- try their lemonade infused ice when you get a water- it's awesome. There are always an assortment of cookies and candies, a great magazine spread, and an upbeat vibe as well.
I originally came to her to fix a color after a great recommendation from a friend- and I will never leave- I leave looking fresh and on trend. She is also amazing at cutting bangs- it sounds silly but not all trims elsewhere are created equal- am always so excited at her technique. I even get compliments on them from cute waiters when I am out with my husband- lol. It's the small stuff. There are other great stylists I haven't tried there with clientele of all ages.
It's a beautiful salon and -- in a great plaza with plenty of parking. don't forget to bring change to tip the washers, I always do and have to get change or hit up their atm.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Sky G.New York, NY0491Jun 4, 2019
Their colorists were very attached to one particular product line, which might be fine for all else but it sadly fell short of achieving what I sought.
I brought very specific reference images of what I wanted and I wasn't told that my expectations were unfeasible in any way, however, when they were done, and after a 3 figure bill, my hair looked nothing like what we had discussed.
Their failure in achieving results and failure to manage client's expectations is absurd for a salon that makes such high claims.
I was also disappointed with their blowout.
My takeaway is that this salon caters to a very culturally homogenous population, and is simply unable to cater to a more diverse clientele.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Lauren C.Miami Beach, FL16365241Apr 3, 2017
Really love this salon and I am NOT by any means a "salon" person.
We've all had traumatic salon experiences in Boca, leaving unsatisfied and $300 poorer. No? Ok maybe that's just me.
This salon, though located in the heart of Boca salon snobbery and hella competition, stands out for its genuinely nice and talented staff.
I prefer to go to Vanessa because I trust her with my color and she has great style. I went to her with really damaged patchy medium brown hair and she did an amazing ombré on me. She darkened my roots with a beautiful deep brown with hues of purple and made the color gradually transition to blonde at the ends. She always writes down the colors she blends to use in the future, but my color lasted months without fading into a funky color. She's really receptive during the consultation which is huge for me because I can sometimes be vague about describing what I want and Vanessa seems to know exactly what's best for my hair. She keeps it simple and is very considerate and friendly with all of her clients.
This place also has a brow and make-up stylist. I've never had my brows or makeup done here but I've seen photos of people who have and they seem to do a really good job.
The prices are a little high for me which is why I can't personally give it 5 stars but I think the prices are standard Boca salon prices (ladies haircut starts at $55 and a blowout for short hair is $30 just to give you an idea).
I've never walked away unsatisfied from this salon so I think the cost is worth it.Helpful 14Thanks 0Love this 7Oh no 0Business owner information

Another one for your list... Piper.
She did a GREAT job blow drying my hair - super straight, and fast.
And right before me she did a haircut that looked amazing.
Where else can you go where you trust so many stylist with your hair?
There's no going wrong here.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0Sep 19, 2009Previous reviewStill the Best!
I've had long hair for years... This time I was brave = had some wine, and closed my eyes and asked Lynn to cut my hair (shorter than shoulder length). Silly me, don't even know why I was "scared". She did an amazing cut, as she always does.
Everyone loves it, but more importantly I LOVE it!!!
Jamie's still doing purple highlights - she has found the perfect color for me. Again, she and Lynn are a great team, even with the shorter cut the color shows - love it!
I'm telling you, you wont' be dissapointed...May 27, 2009Previous reviewMy hair is naturally black, so definitely no blond highlights for me - not that I ever wanted them...
I never thought about coloring my hair, but one day I decided I wanted blue hair. Don't really know when this idea started to form in my head, just one day I decided I was bored with all black and wanted something different.
I went to a salon, maybe 7 years ago, and one of the girls tried doing blue highlights on my hair. Ugh! What a pain! The color was great but it did not last... As soon as I washed my hair, the color was washed out completely as well. I don't know how many times per week I went to her, to dye my hair again, trying to find a blue that would stay. No luck... After a month I gave up. But the idea still floated in my head.
Fast forward 5 years later, my sister went to cut her hair at and she sees all these girls with pink, and vibrant red hair colors. The good sister that she is, she asked some of them who did their hair and they pointed to Jamie. My sister came home all excited that she had found someone to do my blue streaks. Funny thing is that my other sister, had just been to the salon as well and came with the same report. With my two sisters telling me about her, I immediately made and appointment and 2 years later I'm still happy with my colors.
Jamie understood from the very beginning what I wanted and how to do it. It's never looked crazy or distasteful. I've played with blue, pink, and purple. We've done them in the back of my head, now we moved them to the front. Always making sure it looks fun but not unprofessional so that it won't interfere with my job.
The thing about these colors, Jamie explained, is that since they're semi-permanent colors, they will not last as long as regular ones but at least, since she's been doing it, I can go a whole month without retouching. She's always looking for new colors/ brands that will work with my hair and always has ideas to place the color for when I get bored with the current placement. I love that they're super friendly and understand the need for change and be creative. It's the same with Lynn - she cuts my hair. She knows exactly how to cut it/ layer it for the color to show and be fun. They've been a great team when working with my hair.
For the rest of the staff, 5 stars too. You'll get a friendly attitude right from the very beginning, when doing your appointment (with Ana or other staff member answering) on the phone, when you walk in the door, when you seat at that chair to do your hair, wash, style... up to the point that you leave. I'm not the type of girl who loves being at the salon all the time but I think it says a lot, of their service and skills, that I've been doing it every month for almost two years.
I highly recommend HUE to everyone, they have a stylist and colorist for all styles. - judy w.Deerfield Beach, FL1181May 23, 2019
I was visiting from overseas and knew that I would need to color my hair at some point because I was here for the month. I confess that I was somewhat terrified; you see, I have spent much of the last 2 years working with my stylist overseas to slowly bring my color to a light brown. And while I had always been successful with boxed OTC products in the US in the past I didn't want to risk getting it wrong after so much time and effort.
So I went to my mother's hairdresser who she has for years raved about and told her very specifically that I did not want to go darker. The results were absolutely disastrous; almost pitch black in the front of my head and then lighter toward the back. And my hair was like straw.
Worse yet, I was going to be at a family wedding in 4 days from now, seeing family I have not seen in years. So after a good cry and feeling frustrated beyond words I started searching for a good colorist in the area to see if maybe, just maybe, she could somehow fix this mess.
I ended up going to Kelly from Hue after carefully reading through dozens of reviews. Still I had a pit in my stomach and was just praying it would not be even worse when she got done.
Kelly is, as everyone reported, an artist, a miracle worker, the consummate professional, incredibly knowledgeable and so so talented at hair color (and repair of messes). She is attentive and honest. In fact, everyone in the shop was wonderful.
I absolutely love my new color!!!!! I cannot begin to describe how relieved I am. If you need someone truly amazing to care for your hair please don't hesitate to look up Kelly. Thank you Kelly; you truly saved the day!!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Eklew G.Pompano Beach, FL03Oct 1, 2018
Kelly did an amazing job with color-correcting my hair. I wanted to lighten all of it so I can play with pastels and colors, and she got me to like, Mother of Dragons blonde. It was a painless process and my hair is in great shape. The cut and style are awesome, too...i'm having fun posing in the mirror with my new look :) It's a clean, cute space located in Central Boca with a friendly and professional team. If you want to try something new with your hair, or whatever your needs, don't hesitate to make an appointment here. Thank you, Hue!

Kelly is phenomenal! I had been going to her for about a year before I moved up north. I was always extremely pleased with her work. She is knowledgeable, meticulous, and a perfectionist and knows exactly what she's doing. The color is always beautiful and natural. I have gotten multiple compliments since I started seeing her.
After moving to Boston I had a horrible experience with a beauty school who bleached my hair to a monotone, platinum color which looked fake and orangey/yellow. As soon as I made it back to Florida, Kelly fixed the mess and got me back to normal and natural looking in one appointment. She saved my hair and somehow managed to make it look beautiful again.
Can't praise her work enough!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Roger H.Boca Raton, FL0112Oct 12, 2018

I had the pleasure of having my haircut & blow-dry
by EG today. I started seeing her shortly after she
began working at Hue, just shy of a year ago. Michele, my fabulous colorist is the original owner of the salon & has been coloring my hair for over 20 years kindly refereed me to EG.
She is so very talented & I always leave the salon looking my best self. It's a true joy to sit in her chair as she always has a smile & such a friendly demeanor. I applaud EG for honing in on her talent
& artistry!
I always walk away feeling great after she gives me a very precise haircut & a beautiful stylish blow dry.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Pareen K.Boca Raton, FL01Jul 25, 2020
Just a bit confused...when I called to schedule an appointment I was told to come in for a free consult so that we could discuss my needs. Consult went fine; Kelly came up with the following plan: color, do some lighter highlights/color at the ends of my hair around my face ("like the celebrities have"), and do a minimal trim so that "your hair will grow better." I agreed to it all and even asked how long it would all take.
So I went in for the appointment a week later. We colored my hair, and then blew it out. That's it. I was expecting so much more; visualizing some highlights around my face and a nice trim. I didn't say anything because what's the point?..she was clearly booked back to back and didn't make a note or schedule time for what she told me we were going to do at the consult visit. So basically I feel the consult was a waste of my time. The color is fine. But when there is such miscommunication that is a red flag for me.
Just noticed there is color all over my neck, usually the shampoo girl or stylist remove that. Very disappointing. Was hoping to find a good place by my house. The hunt is till on.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Sorry to hear this, but When we did consultation we did discuss leaving it a little lighter around the face but not highlights cause you were worried cause you hair was overly highlighted and compromised. You also wanted to go dark and I suggested not as dark as your natural cause you were so light. I did use a lighter formula around your face. Also when we discussed a cut you didn’t want to trim it cause you said you just had a trim so I was respecting your wishes and not touching your ends. After at the end of our session I did say if you feel to dark or we need to tweak it at all please don’t hesitate to call and come in next week. So communication was there.
