We stayed at the Hualapai Lodge in Peach Springs, AZ because it was the closest place to the hilltop (where we started hiking down to Supai, which, by the way is 60 miles away).

The lodging was well kept and supplied all the basic necessities.  We reserved a room with two queen sized beds.  The room had a window air conditioner which was a bit loud, so it didn't help too much with sound snoozing.  There's a train that passes by quite often and they offer free ear plugs; however, we didn't use them because they weren't that loud to us.

A standard cafe is inside the lodge, but most of the food is fried.

There's also a small but decent sized salt water pool.

Located on the Hualapai Indian Reservation and very close to Grand Canyon West.  I stayed here on a trip to photograph the Grand Canyon.  A lot of people who are going river running also stay at this lodge.

First things first.  There is NO CELL PHONE reception.  I repeat NOOOOOO cell phone reception.  They don't have cell phone towers on the reservation.  (They use satellite phones when they take you out on trips into the canyon or river running.)  So don't be surprised when you suddenly become disconnected from the world, as I was.  They also don't have internet available in each room, but they do offer 2 public computers in the lobby for you to check email and surf the web.  (phew I thought I would die without some type of technology)

A good thing about this place is the people there are really sweet and nice.  Always willing to help when you ask a question.  The rooms were clean and well kept.  The atmosphere is very relaxed.  Another con is that you can hear the train going by frequently!!!  They do offer free ear plugs in the lobby for you...

Make sure you have everything you want because the closest city with stores is a good 45 min away (I know because I had to make a late night trip out).

They have a gift shop and a little restaurant there in the lobby.  The restaurant is not spectacular although the Indian Fry Bread was really good (heart attack).
