7 reviews for Howarth Park
This is one of the best parks in Everett becase it has everything:
Plenty of parking
Playground for kids
Picnic tables
Open grassy areas
Tennis courts
Animal friendly
Trails in the woods
A clean beach!!!!!!
This park has it all!!
The off leash area is NOT fenced! The off leash area is rocky.
I was so tempted to head over to the sandy beach side with my dog. I wanted to throw balls for her in the water but didn't want her to hurt her paws on the rocks. If you don't like walking barefoot on rocks, what make you think its comfortable for the dogs to walk on? Anyway- we stayed on the off leash side- so I didn't throw the ball far since she was not breaking into a sprint after the ball.
Dogs are allowed on the sandy beach side but they must be leashed.
I did learn that there were more parking lots further than the parking lot by the playground as I walked down the trail to the beach.
I have not been there yet , but my friend and i are going to check it out on Saturday ... with out our dogs at first... I am still a little confused reading these reviews... so the dog park is NOT fenced in ?? and it is only one area ??? or is it the whole beach like MF said ??? they really should have a fenced in area ...especially for dogs that get distracted easily , but are still a very good dog.
I had a concern about the rocky side of the beach being the off leash area so I called the Everett Parks Dept. and they told me that if its not disignated by a clear sign, then the whole beach is off leash. I was told that if a park ranger hassels you to get the persons name and call the Parks and Req. office and they will set him straight on this.
This is a huge park with just about everything but my rating is strictly based on the off leash dog park area. The first thing to note is you will need to check the tide tables before going. When the tide is in there is hardly any beach at all. But when it's out, the beach goes on forever and there is plenty of space for little Fido to run and play. So far it hasn't gotten very crowded when I've went and the people are usually pretty friendly.
Off Lease park is so great! But I agree with the other review that you need to check the tide or find out quick whether Fido can swim along side you.
This is, without a doubt, my favorite place in the entire world. Located right down the street from where my grandparents' house was, this park is awesome. The best part about it is the trail that goes off into the forest, leading down to the train tracks on the beach. The walk is about 10 minutes long, and it's through breathtaking woods. Walking on this trail is one of my first memories. If you walk to the park from the street up above (Ridgemont), make sure to check the surrounding bushes for blackberries in the late summer and early fall. They're everwhere.
