Review from Maria A.

I'll admit, I'm an email junkie, a text addict...
But I'm also a devotee of stationery stores. House of Paper being my favorite one in town.
There is still something endearing about receiving a beautiful envelope through good, old-fashioned snail mail. Whether it's a wedding invite or a graduation announcement there is something so telling about the invitation itself. From the color to the design and the font there is so much of each person that goes into each piece.
And a hand written Thank You note on personal stationery is at this point more meaningful than 5 emails and 3 text messages put together. Especially personalized stationery as it gives a sense of the person and your relationship. Stationery and Thank You notes may seem old fashioned but there in lies the simple charm. And that same simple charm permeates this little shop.Listed in: Holiday Shopping, Hostess Gifts

The store owner was too engaged in a phone conversation about her apparently evil ex-husband to pay any attention to her customers. There were two of us there and we kept exchanging uncomfortable glances. In the end, I left the store. I could already tell I didn't want to deal with this scorned woman.

House of Paper has beautiful stationary and invitations for every occasion. They can get pretty expensive, but the quality of their merchandise is worth it.
And if you go in to the store not knowing what you want or need, don't worry, the staff is very friendly and helpful. -

The House of Paper is a stationary boutique in South Miami's Sunset Dr. shopping strip. It's just like the Paper Emporium in Coral Gables except that it's offerings are a bit more old-monied, discreet, genteel in its stylistic choices whereas the Paper Emporium is a bit hipper, trendier and modern: Upper East side versus East Village, Vogue versus Lucky.
It's offerings included thoughtful thank you notes, invites, announcement cards, planners, notebooks, etc.
I think I saw letter wax here to handstamp your invites, how old fashion is that? Charming. -

This is a charming store that mixes housewares (e.g. Saint Louis fine china plates) with stationary goods. The stationary goods, as Cindy said, isn't modern or sleek like the ones at the Paper Emporium. This one is more for the masses, but not as cheaply made like the ones from Hallmark (no offense - I get cards from them too).
Their collection of stationary goods is pretty extensive. They have cards made for any occasion. Just ask for assistance if you can't seem to find a card for an occasion, as they're bound to have it. The racks holding the cards in the middle of the second room has drawers within that you could check out for even more cards!
I bought a lot of cards from them since I wanted nicer cards for the my cousins' upcoming graduation ceremonies, several mothers' mother's day celebration, a friend of mine's new baby girl. That was enough of a shopping spree, but they have some good deals - you just have to search them through and also consider the willingness of writing on the cards with no messages if you want to pay less (that's what I did - bold and daring, huh?!)
But in the marketplace, I would have to take star off because a lot of things here are pricey. They should have more goods for those with a smaller pocket. But then again, in the cutesy world of main street South Miami on Sunset Drive, they fit in pretty well. -

House of Paper may have beautiful stationary, but that can't make up for the ugly personality of the owner. She is quite possibly the most unpleasant (and that's an understatment), most unprofessional woman I have ever dealth with. I would not recommend this store to anyone under any circumstances.
