Great dogs in the Northwoods! I'm a long time Chicago hotdog fan and House of Dogs gets it right every time. Their Polish Chicago style is made just right. Also excellent on the menu is their Gyros and french fries. There are a lot of fast food chains now in Eagle River; ten years ago only Dairy Queen was around - but don't bother going to any of those places if HOD is open!
It's small inside with few seats and a nice area for family seating is outside with covered tables. One wall inside is dedicated to photos of dogs of locals and visitors - many are very funny with dogs in all kinds of poses.
But back to the food. They use only Vienna beef and the quality of their sandwiches is excellent. Enjoy! -

A friendly, family owned place. The food is much better than the fast food stuff otherwise available. The Italian Beef is excellent, good enough for flatlanders to enjoy ;-)
The cute dog pictures add to the sense of local charm. This is probaly my favorite place for a quick and satisfying bite to eat in Eagle River. -
