I've stayed here twice.  The first time was for my 21st Birthday last year and the second was this past year for my 22nd.

The first year we stayed in one of the magnificent 7 suites- "Crouching Tiger".  The room was Fabulous and huge.  The second year we were in the second biggest suite "The Last Czar" which was equally fabulous.

The staff was very friendly on both occasions.  The second year for my party we had about 50 guests there in our suite.  I think the hotel management was elated to have people even staying in the ultra high end rooms during such a bad year for everyone.

I have but one complaint for ZaZa: The second year, we actually used the kitchen at the party.  We had so much food laid out.  Well the sink was not properly maintained and it ran onto the floor.  But everyone was pretty much "inhibited" at the time and didn't seem to mind.

Warning: Under NO circumstances open any bottles of liquor or orange label champagne provided in the room.  Expect a few Hundred Dollars of mark up... Even if you replace the identical bottles the next morning.  I guess that's our fault.  We should have bought more liquor.

I'm wondering If its worth a third go around at ZaZa this coming year for my 23rd?  I guess I'll wait till August rolls around for me to decide.

If you like boutique hotels, then the ZaZa is a must! I was lucky enough stay there with a friend who went to SMU - she knows the lay of the land in Dallas and I'm glad that I trusted her opinion.

Here's what made our stay at the ZaZa so memorable:
- The amazing outdoor pool! During the week it's calm, quiet and relaxing. On weekends, it turns a little more "scenester" but still a good time for the most part.

- We had our tarot cards read on Friday night in the lobby, which was a special treat! And the tarot card guy was dead-on about our personalities and what to expect in the future.

- The amenities were impressive- 32" flat screen tv, down bedding, plush robes, and original artwork in each room. The staff even turns down your beds and lights votives for you in the evening (while you're out, of course!).

- The bar stays open late and serves some tasty flavored martinis!

- Location is right in the heart of Uptown, which is close to some great shops and restaurants.

The few downsides to the ZaZa:
- On the weekends, the place gets a little too clubby. We arrived on a Thursday and left on a Sunday. The first half of our stay was much more enjoyable.

- Guests cannot bring alcohol into their room unless it comes from the hotel bar. We picked up a bottle of wine on our way back from a night out and it was confiscated from the concierge. They did give it back to us when we left, but we couldn't take it on the plane.

If I were to go back to Dallas and stay in a hotel, the ZaZa would be my first choice. It would be great for a bachelorette party or a romantic getaway!

This is a beautiful hotel, with beautiful people in it. It is one of Dallas' hot spots. If you go make sure you dress "Dallas" including the most expensive shoes, dress, and purse (this is of course for the girls, but guys if you want to try please let me know and I will go with you!)

The drink prices are a little steep but you are paying for your surroundings more than the drink. If you don't like to stand in line for drink make sure and reserve a table if they have any. They come with a waitress and are very comfy chairs.

I can't quite give Zaza 5 stars, but this is my favorite place to stay in Dallas, hands down.  Having grown up in Dallas, and with family still located in town, I visit quite often.  I have probably stayed here 10 times at this point.

I am going to start with a few things that you need to know or they could be considered negatives.  The room service menu 'after hours' is lacking.  However, they will feed you no matter when you call so that is a plus.  If it isn't on the menu and they have the supplies, they will make it.

If you are going for rest and relaxation, be sure to stay away from the pool side of the hotel.  The pool is also part of the bar/nightclub and often has music pumping until 2am.  If you want to stay pool-side, get a balcony room if you are getting basic accommodations.  The themed rooms are a different story.  They are scattered all over and some have balconys and some don't.  You will have to check the site or call.

Valet is the only option and it tends to get very crowded and difficult to get in and out on weekends.  On the flip side, the valets are very friendly and usually put water bottles in your car before you head out for the day.  If you plan around this, it will never be a problem.

Now for the good stuff.  This hotel is super fun and unique.  It starts in the lobby, which is visually stunning.  For some reason, it makes me feel like I am entering the mansion of a rock star.  At the check-in desk, they have a huge bowl of hot tamales.  I love hot tamales and usually grab a ladle full while trying to provide my details through a mouth of gummy candy.

The elevators are dark.  For some reason, that appeals to me.  The hallways to the rooms are covered in photography that will keep you busy for a few minutes.  A few of the images are disturbing.  For some reason, that appeals to me.  The rooms are full of surprises, and they have a series of themed concept suites that are truly exceptional.  The whole place is hip and fun to walk around.

To date, I have stayed in basic rooms, balcony rooms, and one of the concept suites.  The concept suite was the Erotica suite, which sounds much more risque than it really was.  On the site, they have excellent photos and descriptions of the rooms, so I will not go into detail on that here.

The pool is nice during the day, and the bar/restaurant/nightclub Butterfly is great at night.  A real hotspot in Dallas.  I have not been to the Spa, but I have heard great things from other guests.  I have used the business center, which was a great convenience on one visit.  At night, during the turndown service, they place different candies on your pillow each night.  Usually, it is something funny like a ring pop or a candy bar you haven't seen in a million years.  That and they usually place a lot of tea light candles in your room.  Nice little touches.

I consider this a must-stay at least once.  I will continue to go back whenever in Dallas.  If it isn't your style, go across the street to the big stuffy hotel for high tea and see if that floats your boat.  Zaza also has a hotel in Houston, which is a completely different experience that I also recommend.

Great hotel! Stayed here as a surprise for a friends birthday. The staff was great!  They helped me decorate the room & was so very pleasant. The actual room itself has a very contemporary feel with very chic decor. The balcony is spacious & provides a great view of the pool.  I found a pretty good deal online & felt that I got every penny's worth. Would highly recommend!

Ahhh, my favorite hotel... and I've stayed in many hotels. Everything about this hotel speaks to me! I liked it so much that when I returned home, I redesigned my master bathroom to give it the "Zaza" feel. I did a pretty good job too, by the way.

Hotel Zaza makes you feel naughty in a good way (not sleazy by any means). Subdued, yet dramatic lighting, sensual textures and a don't ask - don't tell atmosphere. If I could only get the hotel on my approved "Corporate" list... it's a bit pricey and if you book online, you can get a good price periodically. The food in the Dragonfly restaurant was terrific, but a bit beyond the approved daily travel budget.

I hate to be the debbie downer of the group but I don't get what the commotion is all about. I just didn't think my room was up to par with how much my boyfriend paid. The staff was friendly and it is in a great part of town but I just wasn't feeling it. I do remember there was a gigantic basket in the room with condoms and lubricant of every flavor, texture you can imagine (at a ridonkulous price). I will admit though my favorite three things in the room was the ornate upholstered headboard, chandelier and glass shower design. I think my boyfriend enjoyed the experience and room much more than I did. I think there are other hotels in Dallas that have more to offer at better prices.

I loved this place and it changed my whole view on Dallas.  Very chic, really friendly staff, and a hip vibe.

Rooms were HUGE, decorated in dark sultry hardwoods with a super comfy bed (I can never sleep in hotel rooms).  Awesome stone shower with glass door, was a nice touch.

Food at Dragonfly was very good too.  The Pepper sirloin steak was really nice.

Oh, and Oreos and Lemonade to greet you, that was nice.

Why would anyone stay at a chain hotel again?

Love the hotel and rooms. It is convenient to everywhere I needed to go. Lots of great restaurants close by. The rooms were funky and well decorated. The lobby, gym and spa were all nice also.

The only thing I did not like was the strange pick up joint atmosphere in the bar at night. Be aware there are lots of people on the prowl. Bar was fun until it gets like that. Unless that is what your looking for then it is perfect!

Hotel ZaZa was THE way to welcome 2009.

A Dallas native, ZaZa has always been the apple of my eye of hotels in the area to hang out at, and with Dragonfly, a fabulous place to dine. However, after staying here over New Year's with a friend, I can officially say ZaZa is an all around wonderful--bordering on magical--experience. It's, naturally and obviously, incredibly sexy...sexy in this elegant but erotic manner that totally makes you want to stay there entrenched in this fantasy for, well, forever.

ZaZa's lobby upon entering with its unique style and character is only the prologue. I have always service to be professional, gracious, attentive, and refined - very much infused with a European style. As mentioned earlier, Dragonfly is lovely (but that's another Yelp on its own). I haven't had a chance to try any of the spa services but I'm looking forward to something in the future.

Back to the hotel itself...
Our room was on the Club ZaZa (4th) floor right in the center with an outstanding balcony view. The halls were lined with black-and-white pin-up type portraits and gorgeously colored wallpaper and filled with eclectic furnishings. Inside the room, a similar decor followed, more on the contemporary/modern side of things, very stylish. It was totally spacious, the bathroom luxurious. Finally, and most uniquely, our room had huge mirrors...well, it seemed, everywhere. Note to all current or future lovebirds: What fun in bed! ;-)

OH WAIT ONE MORE THING, and this applies to all rooms: There is a shag bag in the snack/drink bar. With a mini vibrator! 5 stars for that right there.

All around great experience. The standard room was probably the largest one I've ever seen in all of my travels, and the hotel itself was well appointed, hip in a Dallas trying to be LA sort of way. Definitely one of the most comfortable beds I've slept on (besides my own and the Westin bed). The bar was nice too for an apres dinner cocktail (or in my case, wine) with some colleagues, but I'd probably recommend avoiding it like the plague on the weekends unless you're into the scene. All in all, great stay... would definitely come back. Bonus point for being walking distance to the Crescent complex... such a rarity in Dallas.

Any hotel that has a "shag bag" available in the mini-bar is alright by me. Really, I don't think I have one bad thing to say about the ZaZa. The saying "Live Large. Think Big." really applies in this boutique auberge. My room was enormous and plush! Unfortunately I wasn't assigned one of the many themed rooms (the moulin rouge was next door), but I had a giant bathroom, a huge bedroom with a flatscreen, an office space, and a kick-back area (couch, coffee table and chairs). I could have run laps in there if I wanted.

As most business travelers will agree, one of the most important things about a hotel is how comfortable the bed is. My king-size was soft, and I awoke feeling refreshed and ready-to-go.

The Dragonfly, the bar/restaurant downstairs is a pretty cool scene as well. It was cracking on a Monday night, with a strange variety of businessmen, Dallas matriarchs sipping cosmos, and older gentleman sporting girls half their age on their arm. The stench of serious coin in that room was palpable.

The staff was friendly, and I would return in a heartbeat.

ZaZa is all sexy exotic ambiance. This is the sort of place where anything could happen.

The rooms are spacious and luxurious... and yes they do offer a shag bag.The room I had on my stay had a balcony overlooking the lit up poolside bar which was pretty entertaining to people watch while munching on room service.

Dragonfly the restaurant/bar is amazing and you owe it to yourself to have at least BOTH breakfast & dinner there... the wine list is fabulous.

At night the poolside bar is simply magical. The scene changes from night to night though and sometimes it can be a bit too crowded and pretentious.

But overall this place is gem for Dallas and I would definitly recommend it if you can splurge on it!

I stayed here during a recent business trip.  Great location for me, two blocks from the office, also easy to walk or take the trolley to other restaurants around the area.

Staff - Front desk staff were friendly and well dressed, reminds me of the W Hotel style.

Four floors - required you to insert your room key in the elevator for the top floor...of course that's the floor I'm on.  It got a bit annoying...but o well.

Large room - has a couch w/ a nice flat screen TV in the seating area...then the bed is nicely situated next to the big window...nice size bathroom also.

People that hangs out here tend to be the "beautiful people" crowd.  There were couple events that were held here.  People definitely were all dressed to impress, nice cars around always...

Overall - It's not a bad place to stay....BUT...here is my true complaint...REMEMBER to check your bill carefully when you are leaving....they incorrectly charged me for mini-bar twice (I didn't even opened the mini-bar)....front desk apologized and removed the charges.  But I got another charge on my credit card bill for one more mini-bar charge that was not even on my bill!!!! I had to call accounting to have them credit that back to my credit card.

Seriously - I am a probably a fairly frugal person that would NEVER touch the mini bar stuff ($4 for kit kat...seriously??) I would probably walk across the street to the store to get it and come back to the hotel.  SO.... The hotel staff either don't know how to count correctly...or they kept charging another room to my account!!! Blah...

Damn this hotel is zen! Hallways are darkly lit, racy photography hang on the wall, everything smells good, large bowls of candy litter the lobby, a gym with everything you need for a decent workout, and old campy TV shows like Love Boat and I Dream of Jeannie play on small screens near the elevator. Willy Wonka was on last night. Cool!

You can control your lighting in your room to create the perfect mood. The beds are comfy, the mini bar has everything you could ask for including oddities such as oxygen, and when housekeeping turns down your bed, they leave a Mr. Goodbar on your pillow. A big one not a mini.

The pool even has beach balls, rafts, and alligators floating in the water. This place is just cool. I feel very relaxed here and I'm working my ass off. I have a great bar where I can blow off some steam and have a good meal. I never need to leave.

Can I move in please???

I'm visiting Dallas and my friend tells me I must stay at Hotel ZaZa.  I'm from LA so I guess she thought this would be "LA style".  It felt a little like it was trying too hard but I understand the importance of being distinct and standing out in a crowd of hotel options, so I forgive it for that.  The staff was fairly friendly, certainly friendlier than the staff of the Mondrian or The Standard in LA.  The valet was great.  The Helmut Newton fashion photography in the halls was cool and set a mood which I liked.  There was something slightly Vegas about the hotel in general, sans the slot machines.  My room was large and very comfortable.  I loved the glass panel between the shower and the bedroom.  It was etched with a quote I don't remember now but it was cool and original.  The only real complaint I have is that it was a weekend and at night there was a monster party in the restaurant downstairs that lasted all night.  My room was very loud and I kept hearing drunks scream and stumble down the hall way all night.  But other than that, it was a decent, clean and above average place to stay.
But stay away from the spa...

I don't know about the ZaZa hotel.  Maybe its an aquired taste.  I spent one night there and found the atmosphere to be, well......pretentious.  I believe my friend and I were denied entrance to the bar or it was suggested that we wait to be chosen.  That situation is still unclear as the door guy  only nodded and grunted.  In conclusion, their latin hospitality was off.
I will give them credit for the rooms.  They are nicely decorated and comfortable. BUT if you look closely, you will notice that some of the construction is shabby.  For example, I noticed holes in the cieling around the recessed lighting.  A few dents here and there are ok with me, but if you want to play up the posh hotel thing, play it up right.

Bomb-bizzle.

Seriously, bomb-bizzle.

A+ for decor
A+ for concierge (so nice)
A+ for comfy bed
A+ for their bar
A+ room service (breakfast is YUM-E)
A+ for general atmosphere

If you're ever in Dallas and want a hip, chic hotel you need to stay here. It's a little far from the airport ($45 cab fare) but sooo-ho-ho worth it.

Great hotel...great breakfast!! Their steak & eggs breakfast is fantastic. It feels very low-key and understated.

Spa - Not so great. I expected way better service than what I received. The lady who did my facial seemed to be in a hurry and the whole experience felt very rushed. Won't go again.

Who can possibly remember if this is a nice hotel or not...I was so drunk I barely remember what it all looked like ~ haaa
No, seriously  I have stayed in some super nice places w/ some major service so it was alright BUT I think that all hotels should take lessons from Chicago hotels they are by far the finest, w/ wonderful assistance and treat you like you are a queen even if they are sure of your real status...I tested it since I had the opportunity ~ long story but trust me I do with most hotels.
Anway, the one thing I did like that I really never see hotels do is give you a cold bottle of water when they pull your car around in the morning ~ I personally thought that was perfect esp since I was suffering from a few too many zaza tini's
I prefer Four Season's Las Colinas & a couple others over the ZaZa

What a cool experience.  The hotel... the spa... the whole place is cool.  Luckily we landed a great deal so the price wasn't so bad.

It is certainly the place to people watch and be seen.  Although if you go in jeans no one will judge.

The rooms are comfortable and have all the amenities you could want.  Great comfortable beds, killer robes... and if you have trouble with the noise of the party happening at the bar downstairs... just turn on the air humidifier to muffle the sound when you're not wanting the party!

I went here for a bachelors party that my friend threw. Parking was only valet parking soo we tried to find some on the side street. The party stayed at  room called Rock Star damn  that room was niiiiiiiiiiice. There was also a big basket filled with chocalate coins in the middle of the table. We did stop by the bar it was ok nothing really exciting happend. But when we tried to go back to the room the same bouncer from the club told us we cant go back cause theres too many people in room. Its ok cause we went around the other way and came back up. Then after that my memory got cloudy it could have been the patron shots we were taking.

I love the swanky, chic  bohemian-like ambiance of the hotel and it's popular Dragonfly (restaurant / lounge bar).  Yes I agree that it does remind me of "LA scene", but that's part of the reason why it's so cool.  I am not fond of dive bars, so this place was perfect for me.

Great room, great shower (with super nice smelly molton brown!), lovely staff.  Waaaaay trendy and silly people roaming the halls at all hours. If you want to be seen, go here.  If you want to sleep at night, don't stay on the 4th floor.

Very nice breakfast - yummy waffles and chicken sausage and lots of other goodies...

Random movies and videos playing in the lobby and hall kept me almost as entertained as the people-watching ;)

There is something very sensual about this hotel.  Maybe its the fine ass bellmen/valet people, or the window in my shower that looked out to the rest of the room, or the unfortunately thin walls which (much to my chagrin) allowed me to be awakened at all hours of the night to the sound of my neighbor's sexual escapades.  Great service and nice lounge/restaurant.  Felt very welcomed.  Would stay here again...but not alone : ).

What can I say?

This has to be, hands down, the sexiest hotel I have ever stayed at. You walk in and you KNOW you are going to have a great time at this hotel...

Even the elevator is sexy...inspires you to just wanna make out....and desperatly hoping some hot fine (slightly intoxicated) dude steps in with you...and just wants to ravish you...

The ROOM...O...M....Gosh!....beautiful...sexy....you could ballroom in the bathroom.

I litterally didn't want to leave.
hot people, hot times...I can't wait to go back...

Alright . . . here comes the naysayer again . . .

I got kicked out of ZAZA for throwing party there . . . granted, I wasn't very careful with the extracurriculars, but I digress . . .

The staff is perfectly fine, until there's an issue. As soon as they can play their holier-than-thou card, they will. They are rude. Unless you look like you're going to tip them, they are rude.

And don't get the 70's themed suite . . . it's tiny and all in one room, with no balcony. Hardly worth the price.

There!!

Great experience!  Lovely room and excellent service.  Boutique experience.  The room was large and well appointed.  Free wireless internet.  The staff of the hotel went out of their way to be helpful.  Every time I picked up my car from valet they asked if I needed directions.  The air conditioner in my room seemed to be having trouble so I called the front desk and they sent someone from engineering up right away and it was fixed quickly.  I caught it on the right week because I got a great rate because I don't think my normal corporate budget would pay for this.

This is my favorite hotel in Dallas and it is one of my favorite hotels period.  The rooms are spacious and comfortable.  The vibe is eclectic and hip.  Sort of a cross between an Ian Schrager hotel and an interior design firm.  Tasteful but not cookie cutter.  And it is in a great part of town, especially for access to downtown or to uptown.  I also like that it is not a big hotel and you tend to get very personalized service from the front desk and reception staff.

The last time I was in Dallas, we skipped it and opted to try out the new W instead (I admit that I am a Starwood points whore).  Huge mistake.  Ugh.  I'll be back to ZaZa from now on.

The only gripes I have center around the "scene" here at night.  The pool area turns into a bar scene and it can alternate from fun and laid back to velvet rope pretension, depending on the night of the week and other factors not immediately understandable.  If you catch it on a good night, lounge around and have a few drinks.  If not, skip it and head out to somewhere fun.  There are plenty of nightlife alternatives within a 2 mile radius.

This is by far one of my favorite places to stay.  The facilities and decor are really cool but the real joy of this hotel is in the details.  The employees are so excited to see you when you walk in the door that you are sort of confused as to whether or not you have met them before.  But it's a very relaxed, welcoming attitude.  Reese's Peanut Butter cups on your pillow with turn-down.  Fragrant candles lit in your room when you arrive.  A "galley" on each floor by the elevators with sweet treats and beverages in the afternoons.  Witty signage like "stick it here" for your Internet port.  BVLGARI toiletries.  And all of this in a standard room!  It's a very nice treat, especially compared to large corporate chain hotels.  I'm a huge fan.

Update ... I'm sitting in the Moulin Rouge suite at Zaza right now.  Everything that I wrote about the standard room above is amplified.  I mean c'mon, the carpet is leaopard!!  Just love, love, love this place.

Hotel Zaza is the hippest boutique hotel in Dallas.  Great service and even better people watching.  Their Magnificent 7 Suites are really great, including such cool rooms as Rock Star, Last Czar and Leonardo.  And their ZaSpa is fantastic.  You can get a host of services there:  facial, massage, manicure, etc.  Plus they carry an excellent skin care line called Billy Jealousy.  It has the best shave cream I've ever used, Hydroplane Shave Cream.

Favorite Hotel in Dallas.  I surprised my ex girlfriend with a weekend there.  We had a party in our room with friends whom we met out at the bar off site.  This is the greatest place to have a lil hotel party.  I guess you could a room here a deal closer if you know what I mean. I heart the Hotel ZaZa

Interesting set up here.  I haven't stayed in the rooms but I did partake of the bar scene and they have a really cool pool party theme going on.  Relatively chill atmostphere and attractive furnishings.  Extensive wine bar too.

One of the kewlest places I have ever stayed. I got a suite and it was downright awesome. The bar is great, the ambience is fantastic and the rooms were just out of the world. The breakfast was not that great and i took that one star for it.

Gorgeous Rooms, great bathrooms in the suites, really fun pool and very hip restaurant.  This place is ultra-hip.  They have great service, valet, front desk, room service.  Spa on site and the pool always has hotties lounging around

Very hip hotel, great spa, and people watching to the extreme.  Make sure to check out the food at Dragonfly.
