The Vintage Park is an awesome getaway in the city.  The staff is great, and with their tenure, they'll probably recognize you if you're a frequent guest.  The rooms are very nice and really comfortable.  Oh, and there's nothing better than coming back to your hotel and having wine ready and waiting.

This place is a gem and you've gotta stay here for at least one night if you're going through town.

I was a little skeptical of the name until I found out it's part of the Kimpton brand of hotels. We stayed three nights here and it was a very pleasurable experience.

The room was large and furnished well. The convenience of its location in downtown was excellent. And the staff was top notch, especially Gabriel the evening attendant.

Loved the exotic print whimsical print robes in the room and the turn-down service. If you don't have a wireless card for your notebook, the hotel offers free wifi if you sign up for a Kimpton loyalty program account.

Would stay here again when I'm in Seattle.

I stayed at the Hotel Vintage Park for three nights in June.  I was here for a conference, and we wanted a hotel in a good neighborhood but not too far of a walk from the conference on the waterfront.  This was a fabulous choice!

CHEERS to free wine every day!  They offered a few different ones each day, including sangria, along with delicious bar snacks.

CHEERS also to the TURN-DOWN SERVICE!  So nice.  And who puts chocolates on pillows anymore?!

Points for the great location (close to great shopping and a mile from the waterfront), the sexy room decor and the kind staff.

Despite the free wine, there wasn't much of a fun atmosphere.  My colleague and I are both girls in our mid-twenties and we were the youngest people there by far.

I would definitely stay here again.

We got a pretty killer deal through hotwire for our room on the 9th floor of this four star rated hotel.  $99 to be exact.  Valet parking for the night is $30 or you can park in the lot across the street for $26 (up to 24 hours).

The pluses:
+comfortable bed
+soft leopard print robes (perfect fit on me 5'7 and medium build)
+fairly quiet
+24 hour room service by Tulio's!
+intimacy kit in mini bar

The negatives:
-the shower head could use some fixing.  To quote my husband on the strength of the stream "I piss harder than this!"
-soft leopard print robes (horrible fit on 6'3 medium build husband, he looked like Zaf Branigan)
-no lid for ice bucket
-Foot long black hair sticking out from "clean" folded bath towel.  Gross!
-intimacy kit, spring for the version the includes the mini-vibe.  That always gives me reason to add an additional star to a hotels rating.

Hotel Vintage Park wins instant points for providing free wi-fi.  This is probably nothing big in a city that offers free wireless connections like other cities offer exhaust fumes, but after a string of conference hotels where I had to pay exorbitant fees and buy ethernet cables, it's a real treat to just open up the laptop & connect.

Beyond this minor wonderfulness, the hotel is actually quite nice and well appointed.  Aveda products in the bathroom, an impressively stocked minibar, complimentary plush animal-print bathrobes and purchasable animal print undies (which is a little weird).  I wasn't keen on the feather pillows which collapsed like souffles with any sort of cranial impact, but otherwise, the bed was nice.

And let's not forget the nightly complimentary wine tastings in the lobby, featuring Washington winemakers and their wares.  Amazingly, we only made it to one tasting (it really was a beer-fueled trip), but I enjoyed the generous pours in the small front room of the hotel.  The tasters on a Thursday night were few, but apparently Friday night the room was just packed.

Locationwise, the hotel was a bit removed from restaurants and the convention center, but Seattle is so walkable, I didn't feel isolated or lacking for nearby coffee or beer options.  From the backside of the 11th floor we had a crappy view of the tops of shorter buildings and the exit ramp of the highway, but the front of the hotel overlooks the Seattle Public Library, so that's fun for librarians.

All in all, I recommend the hotel for wine fans, folks who don't mind walking a bit, and bookish types.

I can't say enough great things about this hotel. I signed up for their "Kimpton InTouch" program before staying here and they upgraded us to my "preferred" King deluxe corner room free of charge!

They also put a note with two cookies in the room as a thank you...yummy! The hotel staff is wonderful and will do anything to help out. The front desk girls gave some great restaurant recommendations. The complimentary coffee downstairs is the best I've ever had (perhaps because we were in Seattle) and the wine hour adds a nice touch.

If you're looking for an affordable hotel but don't want to suffer in a dumpy hotel with no amenities, I highly recommend Vintage Park. Also, Pike Place Market is in close proximity for walking there, and there's a TON of shops and restaurants in the immediate area. I won't stay anywhere else in Seattle.

The Good:
1. Friendly, attentive staff
2. Big room
3. Comfy bed
4. Within walking distance of Pike Place Market as well as loads of tasty restaurants + shopping

The Not So Good:
1. Teeny bathroom with miserable shower head/drain - tub shut off was broken
2. Stale mini-bar snacks
3. Noise from 5th is deafening - esp on weekday mornings
4. No view (from any room)
5. Tulio's food is terrible! I'm not sure why it rates high on anyone's list, but our wine was flavorless, the appetizers uninspired, and the pasta was sad and limp

A mixed bag for us.

Would give this 4 stars save for a couple of issues. Stayed here on business for 4 nights back in October. Don't expect a spectacular view from any room. The hotel is short and on the edge of the financial district among the MUCH taller buildings. Most likely you'll have a view of another building, if you're lucky the little park and library.

THE GOOD
The room - fabulous and huge; with a dvd player and widescreen, flat tv; bathroom was good sized but not huge but the tub was nice; toiletries provided were limited and just so-so in quality (I think they were rosemary scent and I could have done without my hair smelling like that all day)

The bedding - AWESOME; great big pile of pillows on a king-sized bed with crisp sheets, a down comforter, and a feather bed mattress topper thingy (that I am probably going to buy from the Kimpton web site as it was immensely comfortable even with my back issues, and reasonably priced for purchase). This was a divine sleeping experience.

Hotel staff - very nice and helpful

Location - easy walk over to Pike Place market for a little sight seeing and souvenir hunting, and convenient to where we needed to be for work

Evening complimentary wine tasting in lobby - a nice touch

Fitness room - for the size of this boutique hotel surprisingly good

Minibar fridge in room isn't stocked to the gills and is not RFID sensitive - so you can use it to keep leftover take out or your own sodas cool (see below for why)

THE NOT SO GOOD
Wireless internet access - its available in the rooms (YAY); its also a pain in the a** to get connected (and I'm an IT person); the support line - actually has people who can help you (YAY)

My door - did not automatically close all the way and therefore very easy to leave with your room unlocked, EXTREMELY IRRITATING

They will charge you for air if they could - that "we have incidental items you might have forgotten", sure they do, but not at incidental prices - its worth the walk 2 blocks over to the massive pharmacy/convenience store to get what you might need; I stocked up on toothpaste, soda, and snacks for what it would have cost for a couple cans of coke out of the minibar

Hotel food (both at the italian restaurant and room service) - AWFUL IN BOTH PLACES (the red-wine vinaigrette on my salad was particularly horrid), not a single thing anyone in my group had was any good, save for the cheese plate I got at room service; as another reviewer said - scam a restaurant menu if you can as the prices are cheaper and more variety at least in the fare. I ended up skipping down the street a few blocks to Elephant & Castle (british pub theme chain) and getting take-out of a few of my favorite items.

I would stay here again as the hotel is nice and the staff cheerful, friendly and helpful. And I'll recommend it to others. But I'll be mindful of its shortcomings.

I can't say enough good things about this hotel.  I would definitely recommend this to any of my friends that want to stay in downtown Seattle.

I only stayed one night on New Year's Eve but I wish I could have stayed longer.  The front desk staff was very friendly and the location was great (except hauling luggage from the ferry, up the hill).  When I arrived in my room I was greeted by a handwritten note with my name at the top and a complimentary bottle of wine.  All of this despite the fact I was staying on a government rate ($187 after taxes).

The room had nice modern furnishing and the bed and linen were some of the best I'd ever slept on.  They had leopard print robes in the closet on REAL hangars.  There was a mini fridge/bar (there was room for a couple of our own bottles of water in the fridge).  We received complimentary turndown service and extra towels were delivered by one of the staff when we asked.

The complimentary continental breakfast at the restaurant was great.  Definitely a cut above paper cups next to an orange juice machine.

We missed the complimentary wine reception in the lounge/lobby but it looked nice.

I plan to stay here again next time I have a late night event in Seattle.  It was wonderful.

We stayed at the Hotel Vintage Park over New Years.

Our party chose this hotel because of its dog friendly policy. Since we'd be out a good chunk of the night I didn't want to leave my dog at home all night on the other side of the sound.

Despite billing themselves out as a boutique hotel, I found their rooms to be more cookie-cutter Hilton than trendy and upscale. The lobby is very small and pretty useless for any function other than checking in. They tried serving champagne early in the evening to their guests but it was more like a rock concert it was so packed in that tinly lobby.

The fact that their rooms are named after local wineries and their name contains the word vintage, you'd think they'd have a stellar wine list. Not so.

My friend and I stayed in this hotel for a week last summer on our trip to Seattle. I was really excited about it because it looked gorgeous and it was across the street from the Seattle Central Library. Our room was really luxurious and spacious. The bed would have to have been the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in. We ordered room service twice from Tulios, and while the food was good, it was overpriced. We found a Subway nearby and it was a great alternative. The movies were also ridiculously overpriced and as much as we tried, we couldn't find a video rental place anywhere. We finally ended up buying a few DVDs to watch late at night.  Overall, the service was good, the rooms were nice, and the location was great; we were in walking distance of a bunch of great restaurants and shops. I would love to come back on my next trip to Seattle.

Another great Kimpton property.

Great location.  Close to work for me, but also close to SAM, the (amazing) library, and some of the best restaurants and wine bars downtown (Wild Ginger, Purple, etc).  Pike St/Pl Market and Convention Center are 15-20 min walks away.  Easy.

The rooms are a bit smallish, and if you valet a car, call ahead in plenty of time to get it (the garage is one of those car elevator things and it just take longer than it does other places).  Those are the only downsides.  The staff is great - the restaurant is very good, and the living room is fun!

And, of course, Starbucks is close.

I have to say i felt a little out of place here but it was amazing. it was a little much for a single guy just staying a night with leopard robes in the closet and clothes that they are selling. lol including leopard nighty and so on. lol i really wonder if people buy this stuff. the beds where comfortable and I got a great rate on this place. the reason i say i felt out of place is because there was a bentley parked outside and offered wine the minute i walked in the door. I'm simple. lol enjoy

I stayed at this hotel for a week for work while I was in Seattle.  It was a really great experience!  The hotel is right downtown, close to the highway and public transporation.  The price range of this hotel is affordable (~$170 a night)

The staff is amazingly nice!  They upgraded my room to a nice spacious corner room with a view.  They have a wine hour from 5 to 6pm (from local wineries).  The amenities are great.  The room was clean and spacious.

I would definitely stay in this hotel again.  I'm a Kimpton member now too...

We had a great experience at Vintage park.  The staff were all super friendly and helpful.  The room was quite a bit smaller than I'd hoped, but the bed was fabulously comfortable (as I've come to expect at Kimpton's), the Aveda products are great and I LOVE the animal print robes (for the person who didn't - that's a Kimpton standard thing).

Our room was in tip-top shape, quiet and I noticed no dank or smoky halls that others have commented on.  I like their TV set-up and the in-room workout channels.  We used the fitness facility which was also tiny, but it had all the basics, just not a lot of it.

All in all, a great stay - I would likely opt for the Monaco on the next stay however, in hopes of getting a larger room and for a change of pace.

Though I didn't know it at the time, it was Seafair that cockblocked my ability to get a room at my hotel of choice for an entire week.  I was a little uncertain of Hotel Vintage Park based on the pictures, but I was getting a fantastic price for a good location, and really, I needed a hotel.  So Hotel Vintage Park it was, and in hindsight, I had nothing to worry about.

The room was large , the staff formal but friendly, the wifi fast free and reliable, they had a free wine tasting happy hour from 5-6, and they even had *on-demand* GameCube games for $6.95 an hour.  And really, you should know by now that I'm a sucker for nice sheets.

My only nit?  Their housekeeping was the most meddlesome I've ever encountered:  In addition to morning cleaning, they would come in while I was out in the evening and turn on the radio (re-tuned from my NPR alarm to some soft-rock or light-jazz) and turn on all of the lamps in the room.  I don't think I slept through a single night with all of my lamps off.

And why oh why did they keep insisting on folding my dirty socks and underwear?

I found this hotel so gross that I checked out after my first night and moved to another hotel.  How can this be a 4-star hotel??? The hotel was dark and dingy with a very depressing vibe.  The room was dirty; black hairs everywhere and I'm blonde.  The bathroom was so small you could hardly close the door while inside.  This was in a "king premier" room.  My room faced 5th avenue with a view of a lit up parking garage.  5th avenue is very loud, and I could hear my neighbors and even the person above me coughing.  Honestly, I felt like I was staying in a slum in Harlem.  I would only recommend this hotel if you want to wake up early, becuase you will want to get out ASAP.

I'm a big fan of Kimpton hotels - both the Alexis and Monaco in Seattle are great.  At only $20 cheaper, the Hotel Vintage Park is so not worth it.  Also, I am spoilt when it comes to hotels, frequenting hotels like the W, Westin, and other 4-stars.  This was like a low-quality Sheraton.

Two stars because the bed was somewhat comfortable.

I LOVE Kimpton Group hotels and rarely ever get to stay in them, so when Vintage Park popped up with a sooper deal at $149/night, I leaped.

I will not go into what kind of a shitty day of screwy airport variety I had trying to get to Seattle, but the best thing about the day was that I ended up at the Vintage Park, where their staff helped me with all of my stupid heavy boxes and led me to an upgraded executive king suite with a Tempurpedic mattress.  I took a bath with all of the L'Occitane products, put on the leopard-print robe and ended my crap day on the right note.

Also, Tulio, the Italian restaurant in the lobby, will bring you tiramisu at 4am if you want.

Four stars only because parking is really really really expensive ($30 overnight), and the room temperature settings don't go over 75 degrees Fahrenheit; it's *chilly* and if I want my damn hotel room to be tropical, then I want to be able to make it that way.

I've always wanted to stay at this hotel, but could never justify the cost of staying here, especially when I live in Seattle as it is!  However, I had a special someone in town and I figured it would be fun to splurge.  I got really lucky and found a great internet deal on the Kimpton Hotels website (via http://kayak.com) and got a room for only $139 (normally it's about $199/night).  Sweet!  The room included a king sized bed, tv armoire, a desk, two sitting chairs, and a side table.  It wasn't a large room, but for $139 I couldn't complain.  The room was very tastefully decorated and felt luxurious.  The bed was very comfortable and the linens were soft.  We did not want to get out of bed!  The bathroom was fairly large, which was nice.  The water pressure in the shower wasn't all that, but we lived.

Their computer server was down when I checked in, so they couldn't give me a key.  Instead, they had a bellhop escort me to my room.  I left my room and returned about an hour later and the server was still down(!) and again, the bellman had to let me into my room, which was mildly annoying.  But no biggie.  About half an hour later, the bellman returned to deliver two room keys.

The next morning, we asked for, and they promptly delivered a couple packets of Advil, for which they charged $2 + tax, but the relief they afforded our pounding heads was worth it. They also accommodated our much needed late check-out.  ;)  The parking was a hefty $28/night, FYI.

I had a very enjoyable stay here and have always been a fan of all the Kimpton hotels (such as Hotel Monaco).  If you're ever in Portland, try staying at the sister hotel, called Hotel Vintage Plaza (not "Park").  It's just as fabulous, if not more!

Having stayed in a bazillion hotels around the world, I give this place a solid three stars.  Totally acceptable.  It's not as stuffy as the Fairmont.  And heaps nicer than the Rennaissance Madison.

Good: Newer carpet, bedding, and draperies.  L'Occitane bath products.

Bad: Halls smell dank.  They haven't gotten the smoke smell out of the non-smoking rooms.

Meh?: Leopard-print robes.

My boyfriend and I stayed at this hotel for 4 nights and kept wondering, why is this a 4-star hotel??
The service from the valets and the cleaning staff was definitely 4-star, but the rest...i'd give it 2 or less.

*Size: We splurged on a King room and it was TINY. Especially the bathroom. For a slender, petite woman of 5'1" to not be able to fit into
the bathtub is kind of ridiculous.

*Sleep?: The bed was uncomfortable. The room was always HOT, despite turning down the outdated heating system.

*Smells: The halls had this awful smell of stale cigarette smoke. And every so often, cigarette smoke came wafting into our room through the vent. our whole floor was supposed to be a non-smoking zone. then came the even more disturbing Bleach smell coming in through the vent that made it unbearable to be in the room. I was told (by a friend who is a Hilton Hotel Manager) that this smell is some chemical used to get rid of the cigarette smoke smell.

*Service: We wanted the yellow pages, to look up any open restaurants. I called the front desk, they said they would send it right up. 2 hours later, nothing. i went down to ask for the yp again and was told there was a nearby phone booth with a phone directory that i could look at there. nice. 4 hours later, there was a loud bang at the door (despite our "do not disturb" sign being on our doorknob) announcing the arrival of the yellow pages.

*Location: Maybe it was because it was the weekend before New Years Eve, but NOTHING was open for business. only one of the million Starbucks locations was open. There were no restaurants within walking distance open for business (besides the hoity toity, over-priced tulio's and sazerac's), no drugstores, or even conveniance stores within walking distance.

Pleasantly surprised!
We started off super stoked..., my boyfriend and I purchased our reservations through Hotwire for $103 a night(!) and when we found out it was a Kimpton I thought "score!" but then I read the so-so reviews and had some concerns....

But I can tell you firsthand after a 3 night stay this last weekend... the snotty receptionist was nowhere to be found. Enter a nice pony-tailed gal with glasses, accommodating and eager to tell us as we arrived "You're just in time for our wine reception!"
We got to our room expecting a small cramped space with a queen bed only to find a decent sized room with a King bed and couch as well! The decor is a little dated & not my fave (I prefer more modern)-it's a classic old world style, but the sheets were clean and the bed was heavenly so I'm not complaining. I called in my Kimpton member number before hand (free by the way & worth while if you're staying there) and was happy to find complimentary Pellegrino sodas and shortbread cookies with a thank you card on the coffee table.
Other perks: DVD player, ridiculous leopard printed robes, cozy bedroom socks, well stocked mini-fridge, windows that actually open, free Internet access, and Aveda bathroom goodies.

GOOD TO KNOW:

If you're a wine drinker- the complimentary nightly wine receptions (5-6 PM) are not to be missed. Yes, you may find yourself surrounded by extremely white stuffy fuddy-duddy's but get over it, it's FREE WINE! Plus free pizza from the 4 star hotel restaurant Tulio if you're early enough. We had an awesome wine sommelier the first couple of nights who we ran into late one night in the elevator after an obviously heavily wine induced evening. He had a huge grin on his face when he yelled something to the effect of "Hey, it's you guys!" He was so rad, we wanted to take him back to Oakland with us.

Re: Room Service. We called room service 5 times and almost gave up. We called the front desk for a menu since there wasn't one in our room and gave up waiting, so walked down to pick one up. Ten minutes later someone dropped off the Tulio menu. NOTE- the room service menu and restaurant menu are different. The restaurant menu is less expensive, has different items, and the room service menu includes 20% gratuity and an additional service charge. We ended up calling the restaurant directly for food and avoided all additional charges including a tip (a savings of over $25!). The food was AWESOME. Seriously, I think the best meal we had in Seattle- I highly recommend the warm chocolate pudding cake with toasted meringue. Mmmmm....

Re: Parking. Yes, it's pricey, yes, you should probably tip which yeah, is an extra $3-5 depending just how thrifty you are... but damn is it convenient! It's so nice to be able to exit the 5 and avoid the craziness of the downtown mayhem by driving directly into the parking lot right off 5th Ave, and handing over your keys. We parked in the lot across the street the first night to save $4 and we definitely preferred spending the few extra bucks to stay at the hotel- no hassle and no worries about coming & going.

Like it's name this hotel is like a great vintage wine. Don't be fooled by the old brick exterior, the room I stayed at is not short from luxury.  The hotel staffs are kind and answered all questions I had about transportation and restaurants recommendations.  The 5-6pm wine tasting is wonderful which adds value to my stay.  We stayed at the 3rd floor and we could hear a bit of noise because it is in the heart of downtown

I recognize that I may be more critical of a hotel when staying for pleasure rather than work but I think that makes this a more helpful review. My husband and I chose HVP for our first night alone in 15 months (new parents). The lobby was suited for Christmas and smelled scrumptious. The front desk and valet were attentive. Room service, however, left something to be desired. We were hoping that would be a highlight where we might enjoy breakfast in bed and, knowing the reputation of Tulio, were expecting great things. Don't bother... pack a picnic. Bfst came without jam, butter, water, or the coffee cake we ordered. They did send it up right away when called down but the coffee cake was like sawdust. My eggs were cold and pancetta invisible. The room itself was cozy and we were sent wine and chocolates. The shower pressure was great and they even let us order a repeat movie after falling asleep... very nice touch. I would go here again... but just bring my own food.

Great 4-star boutique hotel (part of the Kimpton chain).  I Priceline'd this hotel, and was very content with the (standard) room we received - decent size, very clean and comfortable (bed was super comfy; no couch).  All rooms are named after a Washington winery (kind of cute!).  Free WiFi was great, enjoyed the Aveda products!  The robes in the closet seemed a little strange (I think they were old-school animal print)...all in all, a very pleasant stay!  Front desk was also very friendly, and they accommodated our early check-in, late check-out!  Only minuses - no fitness center (but like Tiffany T. said, do you really need it?), and cabs weren't super easy to come by - the hotel hailed a couple of cabs for us (they shouted down the street in a way I don't think I could!), but there's also a taxi stand down the block and around the corner (so no big deal).  Pretty good location in the heart of downtown.  I would happily stay here again.
