Just made our second visit to Jackson Hole to ski and our second time staying at  the Hotel Terra. This time I was getting engaged so I brought most of my family along. I usually get complaints form someone about the accommodations but this trip there was nothing but compliments.
The rooms are very clean; no issues walking bare foot or laying on the couch. Beds are comfortable, showers are very clean with a cool tub. Good TVs and good sound system in the living room.
Hotel staff is amazing, we accidental left a Ipad behind and the staff did a amazing job of locating it and mailing it back. They even had a bottle of champagne and a nicely written letter to greet us after the marriage proposal :,)
Hotel has a great cafe and Italian restaurant. There's a awesome heated infinity pool that's a must visit. There are a lot of other restaurants and bars that are walking distance. And the best part is the ski tram is 100 yards away from resort. You literally get to ski right up to the front door of the hotel.

They were great at this hotel. the concierge helped us with booking things before we got there. They had cupcakes ready at the room since they knew i was there for my bday. We killed the cupycakes in 2 minutes. They did tell us there was no dog sledding available so we booked another activity but later found a place that did dog sledding and they were gonna charge us full price for canceling our activity to do the dog sledding but they got it all taken care of so I woldnt have to. They also gave us a bottle of wine as an apology.
The rooms are super small, but you wont be in there that much anyway. The restaurant downstairs is supper yummy!.

This was my girlfriend and my second consecutive year staying at Hotel Terra and I was once again blown away by the hotel, the customer service and proximity to the mountain.  Everything from the breakfast at the Terra Cafe to apres ski at the Osteria to the ski valet are first class!  Also, I highly recommend using the on-site ski shop as the staff is very knowledgeable and house great skies (demos are far above most places).  Also, the staff always has a smile on their face, always greeting you by your last name and will go out of their way for you.  In fact, after checking in I informed them I preferred the location and room I had last year over the one they had provided this year.  Being sold out there was nothing they could do, but then upgraded us to a suite the next day... we were blown away!  Hotel Terra is the best resort in Teton Village in my opinion and highly highly recommended.

We stayed one night after a long exhausting trip in yelowstone anfpd grand Teton national parks. The hotel is perfect. Really nothing to complain of. E front desk is warm and helpful, and the room is magnificent. We are lucky to stay for the time. When the ski season starts a few weeks away, the price will skyrocket, double or even triple of the price we paid.

Third year in a row we've taken our snowboarding trip in Jackson Hole and stayed at the Hotel Terra. We love this hotel, so allow me to give a much needed update for Conde Nast Traveler's second ranked ski hotel.

We literally got the same exact suite we had the previous year. It is a huge suite facing the mountain, complete with balcony. All stainless kitchen with full size fridge, dishwasher and coffee maker. The living room had a comfy pull out couch that easily would be enough room for another couple. They know what they are doing from an A/V perspective and our suite had huge plasmas, cable system with guide so you know what's on, an ipod radio, and Bose DVD/CD surround speaker system. Tons of plugs for all of your gadgets. Boot warmers and plenty of hooks for when you get back from the mountain, or was it the Moose? The bath had a big soaking tub, double sink and rain shower head. Good thing they had a heated floor in there because it got really cold during our stay, I'm talking like subzero cold. The bed was super comfy and had extra pillows.

The Terra sets the bar for Eco hotels with its LEED certification. You'll notice those little touches all around. The master switch as you leave the suite seems like such a no brainer, but you rarely see it. Don't think for a second you're trading anything to go green, the Terra is luxurious.

The Italian restaurant off the lobby, Osteria, is fantastic. We love the Chill spa, where a rub, steam and soak is the perfect remedy for the bumps and bruises the mountain deals you. They've completed construction on the other wing since our first stay and it now includes a gym and enormous outdoor jacuzzi that overlooks Teton Village.

Ski in/out has never been easier and I rode right up to the dudes and dropped the boards. The Terra is steps away from the Big Red cable car that takes you up 4189 vertical feet of the sickest terrain you're ever going to ride. Should that seem too much for you, you can hang a right and spend the day at the Mangy Moose-only the best apres ski scene and $4.50 20oz!

Service has always been great, from everyone at the desk to the car valets. The blizzard shut down O'Hare and pushed back our return by a few days and they worked with us by keeping us in the same room at an agreeable rate. Now if only we could have gotten that two feet of fresh on this killer mountain. See you soon Terra. LDK

This is such a great spot in Teton Village.  It's eco-friendly with a warm, simple decor and friendly staff.  They have a nice cafe where you can grab breakfast to go or sit and enjoy it, and their restaurant sells good food at a decent price.  This is one of my favorite places to stay, despite being so far away from downtown.  Highly recommended!

The hotel is LEED silver-certified and is as eco-friendly as you could get.  Their friendliness to the environment, however, is outmatched by that of the staff.  Their effusive helpfulness, along with the pure gorgeousness of the surrounding nature, and the contemporary but lush decor of the hotel, makes it a dreamy experience. Speaking of dreamy - one of the most comfy beds ever ( very high-thread count organic cotton and pillowtop latex mattresses).

Parking is free and it's right by the tram and gondola up the mountain.  Hotel Terra is also really close to the south entrance to the Grand Tetons and a 10 min drive from great hikes (e.g., Jenny Lake).  Free wi-fi and self-parking and the Italian restaurant downstairs, Osteria, rivals that of our favorite Italian places in San Francisco.  I don't ever want to leave.

I will definitely be coming back to Hotel Terra. And rightly so, since they offer a discounted price to all returning customers. Loyal? Why yes, and here is why:

The staff is remarkably friendly and helpful. Every time we would come in from a splendid day of snowboarding, the ski check guy comes out of nowhere and takes your wet, cold equipment with an unfeigned smile. If you get a kick out of dry: in every room is a dryer for your boots and gloves. Oh, dryness... how I love thee.

I have to disagree with Jaime G about the cleanliness. When we went (January, 19, 2009) it was uber clean. Then again, I was the dirty rascal coming inside rubbing my wet boots all over their purty floor. I'm not sure what kind of fairy god mothers they've got on their staff, but rest assure its clean 24/7.

For the bath... yeah, it would take a long time to fill it up. It's gigantic! The water pressure isn't intense but that's probably because they're an eco-boutique. But who needs to fill up a whole tub when you've got a spacious hot tub and free steam room on the 6th floor? Not many people use the steam room, which is odd because it's DAMN good! All those toxins are gone in 5 minutes and you get to put cucumbers on your eyes. Seriously, you need to get over the "Ew, its all wet!" disorder and enjoy the feeling of intense sweating.

Jaime G is right on about the TV. Great, clean interface. Don't worry about movies... they have a TON.

The free WiFi reminds me of work and 1998 AOL, but you can pay for an upgrade if you need to download, ahem, whatever you need to download.

I also love how Hotel Terra has the best food in the village. Osteria alone is out of this world. However, Cascade has really tasty Buffalo Sliders that are definitely worth the 50 steps to Teton Lodge. Also, the cafe on the 1st floor is also a great little spot for morning crepes, yogurt, burritos or bagel lox.

We did have one inconvenience. One morning, the person next to us left their alarm on before they checked out and it would not go off for five minutes. We called the front desk and they took care of it. That night, they sent us some tasty chocolates and a handwritten letter apologizing for the disturbance. Thanks Julie M for the note! You really made us feel special! So, I guess it wasn't really much of an inconvenience.

Anyway, that's my review! Can't wait to come back. I hope next time we come, there's a huge dump. :)

I pretty much agree with everything Jamie G has to say about the hotel aside from clealiness, my room was very clean and there were no stains on the carpet so i didn't have an issue there

its great to see a top notch hotel making the effort to go green

the only thing i want to add is i had a great experience with both of the concierge: Jean and Nancy
Jean emailed me before we arrived and gave me great suggestions on activities and Nancy pointed us to the best hike in Yellowstone

the hotel is centrally located and it was perfect for our visit to Grand Teton and Yellowstone as well as the downtown Jackson area

can't wait to go back there again

How can you go wrong by staying in a place that is right in the heart of Teton Village, luxurious, stylish and comfortable while focusing on being eco-friendly?

    That is Hotel Terra.

Fantastic location: a few minute walk to the lifts, restaurants, shops and public transportation into town.

Modern & cozy decor: think of the Midwest combined with mid town Manhattan. Gorgeous fireplaces, cow print ottomans, rustic colors on warm, welcoming pieces of furniture....all with a very urban flair.

Eco-Friendly: smoke free, chemical free, top notch air quality and ventilation systems, organic sheets & towels, fair trade organic coffee in rooms, organic bath products, and a huge focus on recycling through out the entire hotel.

Extras: twice daily housekeeping service, ipod docking station, flat screen TVs, Bose surround sound, high speed wireless, double sinks in bathroom, multiple spa robes (perfect for to and from the outdoor hot tub!), huge rain shower head, on site breakfast cafe and Italian restaurant, heated outdoor pool, outdoor hot tub top floor, on site spa services with fantastic steam room, late afternoon wine by the fireplace...

Add on top notch service (hello Ski Valet!), and the most accommodating staff (from front desk to valet to housekeeping), Hotel Terra is by far one of the nicest places to stay in Jackson Hole.

It's a brand new hotel in the famous ski resort.   Unlike the European type lodge, this hotel gave us a NY feeling.  We stayed at the new East wing that probably just opened for a few months.

The room employed a contemporary eco friendly design, comfortable and refreshing.  We're especially amazed by the deep soaking Zuma Airbath, and 'rainshower' head in bathrooms.  What else was better than a great bath/ shower after a whole day outdoor activities?  Plus all furniture and fixture was new and clean and the room size was reasonable.

The roof top hot tub would be something fun to do after skiing.  And the terra café offered great organic food at a reasonable price.

After staying at the tiny European type lodge, we found it here the nicest room in the whole area.

We received a recommendation from a friend to stay at Hotel Terra in Teton Village (Yes, even over the Four Seasons).  The staff is prompt, courteous, and willing to go out of their way to ensure that guests have an enjoyable (and memorable) stay.  The service is impeccable. We stayed in a normal guestroom and were "wowed" by all of the amenities - separate en suite bath with double sinks and a waterfall shower, turndown service, newspaper, refrigerator, coffee maker, and any other amenity you might need (free internet and bath robes).  It is VERY clean, which speaks volumes coming from me.  The views are incredible. There is also a "free" laundry service available on each floor.  Next time I would like to stay in one of the suites with a balcony.  I hesitate to say more about this "gem" on the mountainside..... I want to come back and find it just the way I left it.

I was blown away with this Hotel. Where do I start. Clean, well laid out room. Impeccable service. And the best part - it's a LEED certified green hotel. The attention to detail is like none other - from the artwork in the hallway to the simplicity of style and design in the rooms.

I agree... it's like W Hotel meets Dwell magazine in the amazing eco-center of Jackson Hole.

The summer time visit was amazing and now I can not wait until I can make it there in the winter. I hope it is just as amazing.

It is tough to find hotels that embrace the good taste and clean lines of Modernism.  Hoteliers are just starting to get it.  But horrid design still prevails.  So it was delightful to find this hotel during a brief late summer stay in Jackson Hole/Teton Village.

I definitely appreciated the overall design of the hotel's public and private spaces.  Materials and color choices were tasteful if a slight trendy.  We'll see how they hold up.  Noise is usually one of the problem points in most hotels, especially ones with thin walls.  But my stay at the Hotel Terra was quiet.  Then again, I was there in the off season and I did overhear some other guests who were complaining about construction noise on the other side of the hotel.  Overall, a well-designed hotel and a comfortable stay.

In terms of problems/flaws:  Cleanliness was a slight issue as it is with most hotels where the housekeeping staff are more interested in turning over the room quickly as opposed to the fine details.  The hotel only opened in January 2008 but already there were dark stains on much of the carpet in the room's entryway.  The dark chocolate doors were pretty but they revealed all kinds of dirt and fingerprints and looked as though they had not been cleaned in a while.  The deep soaking tub was nice though the whirlpool function was way too loud as the motor is right under your back.  It also took a really long time to fill the bath.  In fact, I had to use the ice bucket to speed up the process with water from the sink.  The sleek, Modern bath fixtures were pretty.  But it took a long time for the hot water to come up which made it confusing as to which position was for hot water, especially as there was no text or label on the valve cover.  Likewise, it is impossible to lean in and test the temperature of the water coming out of the faucet because the spigot is at the far end of the bathtub and a fixed glass panel prevents that from happening.  Another example of something that looks good on a blueprint but is evidence of an architect's failure to understand how people actually use a room.

The hotel went to a lot of trouble to design graphic menus for the flat screen televisions.  Their effort shows.  The typefaces and colors were among the most beautiful of any hotel I have ever experienced.  However, the televisions themselves were very sluggish and did not turn on immediately.  Changing channels took a really long time and going back to the menu of channels was clumsy.

The "eco" aspects of the hotel were great.  But they could definitely take it further.  The presence of low VOC paints and finishes, organic sheets, towels and bath products was appreciated as was the opportunity for in-room recycling.  Even the materials used to clean the rooms are apparently earth-friendly.  The presence of a master switch by the door to control all of the room's lighting was a nice idea.  But with all of the energy and thought put into these things on a hotel-wide level, it surprised me to the extent that water usage seemed excluded from this list.  The deep soaking tubs really invited use.  And large, rain shower heads aren't exactly water misers.  It took a long time for hot water to come out of the tap so I had to waste lots of water just to get the temperature right for my shower.  This is not an insignificant issue, especially for a hotel in the West.  They could have mitigated this by using European-style bath and shower valves that let you preset the temperature and have separate pressure controls.  At the very least they could have thought of rainwater collection systems for toilet flushes or even a gray water system for irrigation.

It was great to have a clock radio with an iPod dock though more easily accessible electrical outlets or a charging station for electronic gear would have been a nice touch.  The coffee pot was missing from the coffee maker in my room too.

But with all of these criticisms aside, this hotel is far above most other hotels at this price point in the US.  I would definitely stay there again.

On our cross-country road trip, we were very lucky to find the Hotel Terra on tripadvisor. We booked for two nights, and loved it so much that on the first night we decided to stay an extra night.
We had an urban suite, which was the same price as a single King at the time. We were worried that the queen bed (which is pulled out of the wall) may not be as comfortable as a normal king, but it was amazing. We woke up every morning so refreshed.
Everything in the room was top-notch - gas fireplace, HD plasma tv, bose sound system, balcony looking out over the mountains. The restaurant in the hotel was excellent, and the cafe served awesome breakfast. Every member of the staff practically threw themselves at us to serve us.
I can't say anything negative at all about the place. We happened to be in the room when they came to clean it, and even the person cleaning did such a thorough job - spraying down every window, cleaning every little detail, we could not stop talking about how great this place was.
When we were checking out, we were seriously wondering if there was any way to just live there and skip the rest of our road trip. I highly recommend it for a wonderful getaway!

Wow! Eco-luxury right in Teton Village with beautiful public spaces and gorgeous rooms filled with thoughtful touches. Organic spa products, coffees, and linens, a jetted/bubble tub with rain shower, eco-friendly materials used in construction and in their regular maintenance so no off-gassing or odd cleaning fumes. The products are luxurious, comfortable, and high quality.

Reception is friendly and the lobby is really nice with a huge fireplace and plenty of seating to meet up with family or friends. Here now and get to return in a few days. Ahhh! Haven't tried the restaurants yet, but they look great. Roof-top hot tub has a nice view and small but nice lounging area.
