I would say that over the past 4 months or so Ive probably stayed here 30 or so nights (perhaps a little bit more)

Front desk:
Ive found the ladies at the front desk to be exceedingly helpful with dinner suggestions, directions, helping me the dozen times I left my key in my room, etc.

Happy hour/Food:
The beer selection is pretty decent and free during the happy hour.   The food isnt too bad - its usually meatballs or something fried, which is expected from finger food.     The breakfast is usually traditional scrambled eggs and pasteries.  Overall, its decent.   I usually get my own food out there cause I have a problem with buffets and my lack of willpower.

Rooms:
Ive never really had a problem with my room.   The suites are nice and the rooms are good.   I like the double queen room since it seems mildly bigger for some reason or the other.   The beds are _really_ comfortable and I rarely have a difficult time sleeping there.

Overall, I like this place - I suppose that's why I keep going there for my extended stays in the valley.    Its probably the nicest "business" class hotel that Ive stayed in around the valley.  I would suggest it in a heartbeat - oddly enough, Ill be there next week.  Whee!

I have stayed in several hotels in the South Bay over a period of 3 years. That includes the the so called 4 star hotel called Cypress in Cupertino or the Hilton Garden or the Hyatt. Hotel Sierra is the best among them.

Cypress hotel doesn't have a microwave if I wanted to buy something and heat it since I check-in late at night. They don't have a coffee machine either. It's on request. If you request, it takes hours deliver them and almost check out time. Where do they leave the Microwave and Coffee machine? Near the bathroom sink, taking up half the space.Their mini-fridge is locked and key given only on-request. Even a 50 dollars a day extended say does better than this. I'll write a review for Cypress later :-).

I stayed here for 2 days when I returned after a long vacation abroad and had to stay here before I could move to my new accommodation. The hotel seems very new. Rooms are very clean. Even compact sized rooms are designed in a creative way to to make room for all the amenities. Room amenities? It has them all. A kitchen with micro wave, utilities, plates, etc.. etc.. A mini living room area with sofa and chair. The TV faces the living room but it can be rotated 90 degrees to face your bed.  A cool work area with desk, chair etc.. The price was around $80 per day cause I stayed on  weekend deal. It goes higher during weekdays.

It's surrounded by many places to eat, cafes, sandwich places and one of the best Safeway I have seen in South Bay. Close to Sun Mircosystems and other companies.

I would recommend this place if someone is going to stay on a week long or long term  visit and needs the kitchen or a friend visiting for the weekend.

Princess is right about the manager lady. She did the exact same interruption when I was moving in. The guy at the front desk appeared very reluctant to rent out the room :-), cold and bored. But the front desk people who work during the day were very nice ( a Hispanic lady and guy). They were also very helpful when I returned a day later to collect my phone charger that I left in the room.

There is certainly no shortage of hotels in the Silicon Valley... but of all of them that I've stayed in over the years, this place is far and away my favorite.  It's saying a lot for me to give 5 stars to a hotel, because usually I wind up finding a few things that annoy me to death.  Hotels just never seem like places that I feel comfortable enough to stretch out and relax in.  Hotel Sierra is a pleasant exception to this.

The Suites are spacious.  A nice tasty breakfast is included.  A full kitchen in the room!  Flat panel TV.  The room was extremely quiet for being right next to a fairly busy road.  Free internet.  You can't beat the location, as it's amongst all of the big businesses around here.  The shopping center has ample restaurants, and a grocery store!  (Perfect for a place with a full kitchen).  I could go on, but you get the picture.  Certainly an excellent choice if you're looking for a place to stay out here. :)

I didn't want to leave! I LOVED this place. Excellent decor. Attentive staff. FREE local shuttles - in an Escalade (holla!) FREE internet. FREE breakfast with an omelet bar. Ok...the omelet was a notch better than what I make at home and I kinda suck at it...but, it was FREE! Everything was clean beyond belief. Located right next to a cute strip mall/town center/planned community. Great weekend price - but, beware it almost doubles for Sun-Wed. Ok...who was in charge of buying the towels for this place? They suck! Scratchy beyond belief! Sand paper alert! Let's just say my va-jay-jay did not enjoy the hotel as much...
Aside from an over exfoliated hooch - this place ROCKS!

if i could give zero stars, i would.. but im forced me to give them A STAR.

its a lie, the front desk is totally not friendly. to any of the front desk agents reading this; you guys are not friendly at all. a couple of friends (4) & i needed a place to stay, this was about 11:15pm on a saturday night (last night) .. not bothering on helping us, this tall lady with long curly dog hair intruded to mine & another front desk agent's conversation..i'm guessing she was manager during night shift? but still.. she didn't keep her cool where she basically gave attitude and being a b*tch.

i totally understand it was late at night and we had the image as "party people" but their "can-do" attitude SUCKED!!!!! f*ck hotel sierra. even if they were sold out that night, the least they (SHE) couldve done was apologize and find us another hotel.. but nooooooo she's an ASS and i'm about to find out who she is exactly.

This is the second time we stayed here for my birthday, and I still love the place.  The standard room is spacious with a cute little kitchen.  Everything is immaculate and pleasing to the eye.  The sheets are soft and the pillows are fluffy.  They need to switch to a gentler bleach with fragrance, though.  It's ruining their towels.  My favorite part of the hotel is the extensive complimentary breakfast in their spacious dining hall.

The hotel is located inside the Rivermark Plaza, which has lots of eateries and a fancy Safeway.

This hotel was fabulous.  It's beautiful inside and out with a full kitchen in the rooms.  We stayed here for a bachelorette party and were very comfortable with 6 ladies in one room.  They have an evening cocktail hour and free breakfast.  As well the hotel is walking distance to a shopping center with plenty of restaurants, services and a grocery store.  It was a great place to stay!

This is a GREAT hotel for business or leisure travelers!

It's in the middle of all the big players in the Silicon Valley. It's the tallest building in the Rivermark Plaza in Santa Clara, so you can't miss it. I have to admit, the GM is a good friend and a golf buddy of mine. The property is immaculately well managed and maintained. I love their entire friendly staff.

Pros: All rooms are mini-suites(bedroom, living room, bathroom, and small kitchen), FREE breakfast every morning, awesome pool, Happy Hour at night w/ BEER & appetizers, modern decor through out, gym, business center, great employees, location. Tons of restaurants, tanning, banking, and grocery inside the plaza. You can walk to all of them.
Cons: Parking can be tough during the lunch time! There is a parking structure in front though. Not the cheapest hotel per night.

They know that each travelers' experience can create a positive reputation for future business. It's a specialty hotel, not like a Marriott or Hilton, so there aren't that many locations. I will have my cousins stay there this winter. Cheers!
