Love it. I have had so much fun here. NYE parties, fun get-togethers, girls' getaway weekends, or a romantic dinner and weekend for two, I been here a ton, and have always had a lovely experience. I love the rooms, so comfy and cozy. The staff happily caters to your every whim. Dio Deka is divine too.

Oh, and I love the pedicures at the spa!

Great deal if you book a suite with a couple of friends.  The one bedroom suite has lots of space with a lovely decor in a peaceful setting (dont get a room that overlooks the pool--the late night noise is intense).  Very friendly and helpful staff.  Free underground and outside parking.  Good spa on site.  The pool/hot tub area is small in a good way, but people were trashing it with wine bottles and empty Cheese-it boxes. Come on people, no fair treating the hotel staff like your personal servants.

Didnt get to try the in-house restaurant, but will next time.

I think that this hotel is just about perfect. I love the layout. It feels so nice, and everyone is so helpful-- without the snob factor. I had a great time and its just way worth stopping by and checking it out.

I can't say I was too keen on Hotel Los Gatos.  The rooms were clean but the bed was not comfortable.  The continental breakfast (yogurt, fruit, and an english muffin) was $10 a person.  Our very pretty balcony overlooked a backyard fence of some sort.  The decor was a weird mix of Asian influenced-15th century French.  Not quite my tastes.  There were other odd tidbits at the hotel.  Such as the shower.  It had clearly been remodeled since the hole where the shower head once was still remained.  I would expect something better for the price.
We weren't here for very long (just one short night) though I'm not sure that there would have been much to do if we had stayed longer.

My daughter had her wedding reception at the Los Gatos Opera House, and we figured it would be convenient for all of our out of town guests to stay at Hotel Los Gatos, as it is just down the street. I worked with Karen Casas in group sales and she did a phenomenal job of giving us a great rate and booking rooms. I left gift bags at the front desk to deliver to all of our out-of-towners as they checked in, and that was handled perfectly. The young man who took care of my friends and family at the continental breakfast ($10) in the morning was so pleasant, courteous and helpful with all requests. The entire experience at this hotel was great, and the location in the cute town of Los Gatos is unbeatable.

Truly a hidden gem.

I stayed here for a corporate event and my, was I quite impressed! The room was beautiful and I must say, the bed was one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in. Lush reds and browns with a fireplace in your room too! Very romantical. My goose down comforter was heavenly; I felt like I was floating on a cloud.

Beautiful grounds too - reminded me of a Spanish hacienda.  The restaurant was unremarkable and to be honest, I don't even remember what it was called but I do remember hitting the restaurant bar the night before and they had decent drinks.

It's a nice place to get away from the chaos of the Bay Area and undwind and it's close enough to do a weekender trip. I would recommend a trip out here with the girls or your significant other.

A Very nice place for a wedding party!

As a professional wedding photograper, I appreciate venues with lots of options for portraits, ie., colorful backdrops, beautiful architecture, nice reflected lighting, and balconies! A balcony is key for the atmospheric shots (see my uploaded photos).

The planning and onsite event staff was easy to work with, and the groups I've seen here have always had a great time!

The room at the Hotel Los Gatos was super delicious!--cozy comfortable, roomy--could have been a bedroom in a very nice home... Nice, clean, warmly furnished bathroom. A bed so snugly you would die in it if you had the choice. TV, DVD player, stocked bar, free T1 Internet service. All this with the gentle spatter of much needed rain. Very romantic...

For a complete review including pictures and our review of Dio Deka the hotel restaurant please visit: http://www.irasciblech...

They have a great comfy living rooms--relaxing reading areas all around the hotel.

My favorite one was off of the lobby area with a fireplace roaring. I found myself there just before dinner relaxing, sitting with my feet up on an ottoman, in front of the fire, with a newspaper and birthday Guinness--perfect!

We had dinner reservations for 6:30 at Dio Deka, the hotel restaurant--we've eaten there before. Dio Deka is a Greek Mediterranean restaurant. WONDERFUL!

This is on the expensive side and the pool area was trashed by drunken grads/ wedding party guests.  Our lounging was frequently interrupted by other patrons yelling.  For the price tag associated with the room, I felt the staff could have controlled the guests and noise.  (Oh, and our bathroom had a burned out bulb.)  That said, the king suite was beautiful and spacious - loved the fireplace and the amenities.

I had my wedding reception here and the place is gorgeous. My guests were in aww. The rooms are clean and very nice. Loved our balcony. The pool & jacuzzi were wonderful. Great location. Quiet. Free parking. Staff were wonderful & helpful! Even wrote us a card! The buffet breakfast was free so that was nice, kinda $ for what you get.  We love to go there. Dio Deka is a wonderful place for dinner and then retreat to the hotel...perfect for a romantic weekend get away!

We had our wedding ceremony and reception here in April. It was absolutely GORGEOUS!

Many of the guests also stayed here and they loved the location and the hotel. We had a king suite, and got a discount because of our wedding block.

The king suite had beautiful bedding and included a lovely fireplace. The bathroom was also very nice, and had a separate shower/tub. The room also had robes for us to use during our stay. It was also wonderful to have the balcony overlooking the courtyard.

The hotel itself is really just beautiful, and provides so many, many good options for wedding photos.

The sales staff that we worked with were nice, but not always that good with follow up and there was frequently miscommunications with them. Nothing super serious, but they had trouble following our instructions for billing, and understanding our requests. It was always cleared up politely after being addressed. But we were surprised to have so many misunderstandings with Sales.

I've written a separate review on the banquet/staff/food provided by Dio Deka, the on-site restaurant at Hotel Los Gatos . Everyone that we worked with there were so incredible. If I could give them more than 5 stars, I would!

My Husband surprised me with a massage for mothers day this year. He called, set up the appt. And gave them his credit card. Massage was nice, I got lost getting back to the Lobby! I went to check out and they handed me a bill. I said this is a Mothers Day gift (actually exactly on Mothers Day), and my husband called to set it up so you should have his credit card number from the phone call. They said they don't take credit cards over the phone. I asked then how would this have been a gift if I have to pay? He would have had to some down to sign a paper or fax in an authorization. FAX? who has that anymore. I asked why this wasn't told to him when he called to set the appt. up and the 2 women behind the desk said he must have been confused? WHAT...anyway, woudn't go back because of the hassle. Didn't mind paying for my own gift but they could have done something better than blame it on him.

I have stayed at this hotel about 3 times (and I live in San Jose!) This is where my bridesmaids and I got ready when I got married. We had a suite and it was AWESOME! We recommended all of our guests stay here as well and everyone was impressed. The decor is amazing and the ambience is perfect. It is also in a great location so you can walk to breakfast, lunch or dinner and shop, shop, shop!

Good Points:

All-access to the Los Gatos health club.
Charming boutique hotel.
Centrally located and within walking distance of Old Town LG.
Aveda goodies.
The exterior of the building is gorgeous and the balconies reminiscent of Europe.
Plush bathrobes are provided.
Free breakfast for the Suites.

Turnoffs:

We had to remind the front desk numerous times about requests for the necessities.
Some of the towels reeked of bleach.
Very dim lighting, along with eerie paintings in the hallways.

Very pretty hotel, but the prices are kinda insane.  The staff didn't seem to care why we were there - c'mon, local billing address on the credit card, one night stay, you KNOW it's for a special reason of some sort.  For this price, I wish they'd realize that this is a special occasion type of outing for local folks.

Nice things - the access to the Los Gatos Athletic Club is great, the free breakfast was fabulous (Panera Bakery goodies, smoked salmon, yogurt, make-your-own-waffles, etc).  The toiletries are nice too, but they used to have Aveda and I prefer that.

Pros:
Great ambience, friendly staff, nicely decorated
Very quiet rooms at night - great.
V. Clean
Very relaxing

Downsides:
Water is way too chlorinated. Get bottled from the front desk if you want to make drinks in the rooms.
Robes in rooms were old and well worn
You have to pay for Continental Breakfast  (most hotels are complimentatry)
Not as good as other JDV hotels I have stayed

I picked this hotel for my wedding weekend and it was AMAZING! I got a grand suite and the room was absolutely spacious.  Some of our guests stayed here as well and they also loved it.  I worked with Karen Casas to do a wedding block and she was wonderful.  After our wedding, we come into our room to find rose petals on the floor, around the bathtub, the fireplace was on and there was a heart-shaped rose petal design on our bed...nice! Perfect way to end a perfect day.

You aren't going to find much of a nicer place around. First, there aren't really a plethora of hotels around Los Gatos (Jefe...do you know what plethora means? - you get cool points if you know where that is from). Second, a few miles away is San Jose and the surrounding areas. And well, it's kind of the suburbs and not too swanky like this place.

Very spacious rooms. Nice decor all around. I liked it. I mean hey, someone else was footing the bill, so what do I care. I wouldn't drop the coinage on the place, but it's nice.

For my boyfriend's birthday this year I wanted to do something really special, but still remain local.  I booked one of the finest rooms in the hotel, equipped with this fantastic shuttered window from the bedroom to the whirlpool tub.  Can you say OH-la-la?!

When we arrived to our room after a fantastic dinner the staff had already prepared the room with "mood lighting" and even provided a lovely cake for us to share!!!  It was everything I wanted to accomplish to make it a memorable evening.

I'm a local wedding photographer and have had the opportunity to work with the amazing folks at the Hotel Los Gatos.  Trust me, if you want a location that is  perfect for a wedding, this is your place.  The decor is truly amazing, the lighting is unreal for photos and the staff doesn't miss a single detail.

My husband was coordinating an event in Old Town so we needed accomodations for our home base.  The price didn't scare me.  Gawds, it's Los Gatos afterall.  From the outside and lobby you feel as if this will be a charming experience.  Um.  You would have made a very poor presumption. Checking in was like any motel/hotel.  Nothing to make me feel welcome.

The room was adequate.  The fireplace and balcony make for a cozy room.  I too did love the shutters between the jacuzzi and the bedroom.  All was well until the evening.  And then late evening.  The man in the next room must have had pneumonia or tuberculosis or something.  The walls are so thin I could hear every cough, fart, and other disgusting noises that I do not wish to ponder the source of.  At approximately 2 am a large group of drunk people opted to enjoy the rest of their carousing outside near the pool.  They were obnoxious with their yelling, screaming, drinking, and chasing one another.  I gave it 30 minutes and then called the front desk.  I was advised that they were aware of it and would take care of the problem.  Another 45 minutes went by and suddenly other guests in the hotel began yelling out of their windows for the group by the pool to shut the f*** up.  I again called down to the front desk and was advised that they had already taken care of it.  I gave up and just sat on the balcony watching the loonacy.

Maybe I'm being snooty, but I would think that a hotel in Los Gatos that charges what they charge would cater to a certain quality of guest.  Apparently any hoodrat can afford to stay there and the staff at HLG is scared to do anything to control their wayward guests.  So for my $500 bucks I got to feel as if I was in the hospital between the psych ward and detox.

Perhaps it would be better to stay at the Fairmont in San Jose and make the drive to LG.

I'm a wedding videographer (http://www.signetringf...) who has had the opportunity to film at Hotel Los Gatos, and stay there overnight as well.   I absolutely love this place, both as a place to stay and as a wedding venue.
The potential for beautiful videography/photography is excellent...there is an outside courtyard with a black cast iron staircase, with a very old world elegant feel.  The rooms are classically designed, and when we captured our bride and groom standing near the windows with light filtering in through the curtains, it really made for some priceless footage.  Also, the inside of the hotel lobby with the colors they have in there...rusts, burgundy, and dark mahogany...really nice.
When I stayed there overnight, I also experienced great service and would be delighted to go back again.   They really make sure you feel pampered.
An additional plus:  Dio Deka as a caterer is amazing.  Expensive, but the food is worth it.  If you ever get the chance I heartily recommend the filet mignon, probably the best I've ever had.

Booked a suite last december, when checking in to room realized it was not the one I had payed for (suite with balcony with separate living area).  Went back to desk, lady said their website must of had the wrong pictures...oh please!  Finally found the room I wanted, when leaving the desk clerk apologized and said a bottle of champagne would be sent up for our trouble.  Was very pleased..but guess what?  No champagne.  Didn't even want to get more annoyed by calling to the front desk.  Next morning at check out told the gentlemen at the desk.  He said "I was not told about any champagne when I started my shift. period.  No apology..walked away very dissatisfied with the whole experience.. paid 300.00 for one night..my bad!

Stayed in a suite with five girlfriends for a bachelorette getaway.  It was absolutely perfect for us: two bedrooms and a living room area with a pull-out sofa.  The hotel decor was very nice, not cheesy.  We relaxed in the hot tub late into the night.  The concierge left us gift bags with bottled water, wine and cookies!! The only drawback was that the fireplace was difficult to turn on and off, but the staff was happy to help us out.  It was a wonderful weekend, thank you Hotel Los Gatos.

It's a beautiful small hotel with a lot of charm.  I got married here, and I have to say luckily I had a small wedding because there really isn't a lot of room for more than 100 guests.
There were a few mix ups with our wedding being double booked with the yearly vintners festival and all, but in the end it all worked out okay... after several meetings and getting a large chunk of $$$ back because of their contract violations.
Our wedding guests told us they loved our wedding and didn't seem to notice the mishaps of the hotel.  They also raved about  the food that was provided by Kuleto's ( now closed).
The bridal suite was very comfortable and ideal for a busy day of preparing for a wedding and a nice wedding night place to stay as well.  The hotel has many beautiful amenities and is walking distance to all of the adorable shops in Los Gatos.    Definitely try to get one of the bridal suites (even if you're not getting married)... you won't be disappointed.

Hotel is nice and clean.  Very welcoming staff, friendly upon arrival and departure.  Join the club, as I heard it has good perks if you're an often visitor.  Breakfast is a bit lacking, but good tea/coffee and pastries are ok enough.  Access to the gym down the street is perfect.  It's a stellar place, and makes the hotel great.
