3 reviews for Hotel Lanai
Hotel Lanai is the original hotel on Lanai. We visited here several time when we wanted something different from Manele and Koele. It's quiet quaint place and everyone makes you feel at home and you can charge your dinner to your room even if you are not staying at that hotel and staying at Manele or Koele.
A quaint little hotel in the center of town. They offer only 12 rooms with great hospitality. However no TV's in the rooms. The Lana`i Grill offers local music every Friday & Saturday night featuring Alapa Drive. (a local band)
I am only reviewing the restaurant. The entertainment saved the evening. We were seated in the large tent "outside" where the entertainment was located. It started with having to sit in those awkward, cheap, flimsy white plastic chairs. Next came the most awful "musty/mold" smell that permeated the air. The waiter was young, and completely untrained. Hubby had to get up twice to find a water pitcher and refill our glasses. Service was so spotty it was just pathetic. Hubby ordered wedge salad (over $10 for small portion) and ribs (pushing $30) and the ribs were less than a half rack. We live in Honolulu, so we get the high prices but, please, meatloaf for $28...come on! I ordered two apps that looked significantly like they could have been from the freezer case at Costco in Maui...one was called Philly Cheese Spring Roll...I couldn't begin to tell you what the heck was inside, but in no way did it resemble anything close to philly cheese. Overall, the entertainment was great and the rest of the experience was just awful. I would give it no stars if I could. There are other interesting places in Lanai City with down to earth atmosphere and down to earth cooking...Something needs to change at LCG
