I absolutely loved this place!!  I traveled to Boston as one of my legs of my Jet Blue "All You Can Jet Pass" trip.  In researching various hotels, I was trying to find places around the $100 range and this hotel went above and beyond my expectations for what I paid in comparison to what I got.

The only thing I regret is that I was there for a short period of time and I was running around trying to do touristy stuff and wasn't able to even really enjoy the hotel.

Sure, it's a bit out of the ways, but it's easy to get to the hotel via the train/subway.  I didn't have a car for my whole trip and I found it easy to get to and from the hotel.

When I first arrived, it did look kind of ...well, it was all bricks and not as modern as I thought it would look like from the outside.  Don't let that fool you though. Once you enter the hotel, you're completely taken to another world from that of the outside of the hotel.

The decor inside the hotel was trendy and upscale.  The room itself was decorated very nicely and had a lot of nice amenities (Aveda soaps/shampoos, which I am now addicted to because of this trip.)

The bed was comfortable and huge.  The pool was very nice looking, but because of the weather and my tourist agenda, I wasn't even able to enjoy it.  (Check out the photos)

Internet was free here as well, which is a HUGE bonus for an internet addict like myself.

Initially, I had some qualms about the hotel being somewhat far from downtown Boston, but after the ease of the subway, I really didn't notice how far this hotel was.

I really enjoyed my stay here and I highly recommend it. Check out my pictures to see some of the decor and the room I stayed in.

so i booked a room for my girlfriend's birthday.  we were going to have a bunch of friends come by and use the pool.  sundays they have a dj and it costs $25 to have pool access.  not too long before i called to make sure everything was ok.  it wasn't.  they had recently changed their policy so that only people staying at the hotel were able to use the pool on weekends.  so we changed plans completely cancelled the reservation and set it up so a couple of her friends would meet us there monday so that we could sit poolside and have food and drinks.  we got in ok but they wouldn't let out friends in because they only let in a certain number of people in each day(they didn't have a specific number)  they wouldn't let me give one of my gf's friends my access and they wouldn't refund our money.  very unaccomadating and jsut over all a bad experience

My boyfriend and I loved staying here!

True, the room was small but it was still cozy. The King size bed was comfy. The room was clean. The flat screen TV was great. The single cup coffee maker was useful. Everything was pretty much as new as it gets. The hotel smelled great all over too.

We stayed at a room overlooking the pool. Too bad we didn't have enough time to chill poolside (we only stayed for one night, boohoo). The bathroom was a big plus! Hotel bathrooms usually make me feel icky and grossed out but not this one. I loved the Aveda bath amenities & the spa shower head. I seriously took two 25 minute showers in there! We felt relaxed.

We also ordered some breakfast before we checked out & it was really yummy. We had cinnamon french toast and a croissant sandwich (with some Starbucks coffee from their cafe).

Overall, my boyfriend is usually picky about hotels but he was very happy during our stay there (and so was I). We will definitely stay at Hotel Indigo again. Plus it's only 15-20 minutes into Boston.

Hooray for boutique hotels!

Zen.  Sexy.  Green.

The Indigo is a boutique hotel that looks like it was plucked out of South Beach and set down in Newton.  From the moment you walk in you know you're somewhere special.  I loved my room and all the amenities.

For more magic during the warm weather months, go poolside and get spoiled by with the food and service of their restaurant, Bokx109.

It's a beautiful and restful oasis about a block from Riverside stop of the D line.

Picture a supermodel driving an older-model Camry.

That's the kind of jarring cognitive dissonance you might experience when you stay at this hotel, a retired Holiday Inn made over into one of Inter-Continental Hotels' newest attempts at a boutique market entry.  There's potential here, but it needs a little more work, especially on attention to details--some of them very significant.   This hotel could easily have scored 5 stars from me, but some significant mistakes took it down a couple of notches.

The "commercialized zen" lobby with expensive-looking flooring and fixtures makes a nice first impression, with tasteful ornamental plants in hypermodern vases, a big bowl of green apples in the parking garage mini-lobby, and nicely designed, tucked away lounging areas and dining room.  But I'm not sure a huge jar of small York Peppermint Patties on the front desk is quite in keeping with the mood.  If you want to be Eurotrash modern, shouldn't those candies be some higher brand?

There are other oddities, too, some forced on the place by that past life as a Holiday Inn tucked away in an innocuous corner of this bedroom suburb.

My room, beautifully furnished and designed, was just three steps up from the lobby...and the soundproofing just doesn't cut the moutarde, if you will.  From my bed, I could literally hear the cute overnight bellboy typing on the laptop he was cuddling on a sofa in that corner of the lobby.

When I first opened the door to my room, I delighted in the bed, the bedding, and most of the rest of the furniture and fixtures, especially the bathroom.  And yes, the Aveda toiletries were great, but unfortunately, I (much) later found something disgusting in the toilet itself.

At first I thought someone had tossed an unsmoked cigarette in the bowl, because there were floating tan flakes just like unsmoked tobacco in the water.  Upon closer examination, it turned out to be little globules of some kind of brown algae growing on one of the mechanical pieces in the toilet tank.  I was too beat from a hectic round of topsy-turvy travel changes from the day and just decided to put up with it, but I might just as easily have demanded a new room--on reflection, I think I should have.  I mentioned it upon checkout the next morning but the woman on duty didn't seem too fazed.

The free wireless internet access, cool lounger and ottoman with a swingover laptop arm, and nice textiles made the rest of my late evening comfortable, but be warned--if you are hungry, there is literally nothing open around here after 10 or 11 pm for a late nosh, and the vending area is confined to a corner of the downstairs restaurant/lounge area and hard to find on your own.

This is another strategic mistake.  This brand clearly wants to appeal to a younger, more sophisticated generation of leisure and business travelers, and for the most part it hits the mark on the look.

But those kinds of travelers will often be arriving or returning late to the house, and you need to be able to offer them something more than Cheetos and candy bars, especially when the neighborhood's nearest amenity is a convenience store 3 miles away.  I was famished after the usual crazy travel disruptions.  The hautest cuisine available to me was Pop Tarts, and nothing was available to toast them in.

The night duty manager didn't seem to have more creative suggestions than that convenience store, and couldn't suggest a diner anywhere nearby that might be open late, or even a fast food place.  He led me to the vending machines when I met him having his own dinner in the back of the cafe downstairs.

Find a way to attach a late-night store with salads, microwaveable pasta or entries, or other better snacking options and you'll round out the picture much better.

And the last jarring note made its presence known the next morning.  I had a lunch meeting and had hoped to catch up on sleep by sleeping in a bit, but the heinous, overwhelming sound of construction--grinding, pounding, and clanking--practically knocked me out of my bed the next morning.

I just don't think that for over 200 dollars a night with taxes, you should foist this kind of noise on your guests.  I realize they have work to finish--the pool and apparently some other elements of the property are still not complete--but you don't charge this kind of price for this experience.  It was so loud my TV could not be heard and there is no way I could have conducted a business con-call from that room with all that going on around me.  How about a warning from the reservations center combined with a little discount?   I checked out and fled to a different property with a better rate, a bit closer to my customers.  I was never asked how my stay was upon checkout, either.  If you don't care, why should I offer up the information?

You've got a lot of it right, Indigo, but you need to rethink a few things.

Had the first reviewer done his homework ahead of time and at least scouted the hotel's location, he would've known right off the bat there is nothing in the immediate area worth checking out.  This is a suburban hotel and as is the case with most suburban hotels, you sacrifice some of the more expensive amenities (location, in-house restaurant and room service) for a less expensive room rate.  The hotel has a clean and modern look that puts the comfort level on par with the fancier places in the Back Bay like the Colonnade, but at a price roughly 60-100 dollars less than the going rates in the Back Bay.

Hotel Indigo is located just off 128 near the Riverside Green Line stop.  It's a very strategic location because it's pretty convenient to Burlington and the 128 industry/commercial belt and Boston.  Folks who have business to conduct in the 128 belt have an easy commute but also have the option of taking the T into Boston after work to see the sights without the hassle of traffic or confusing streets.

The European-inspired dcor of the rooms creative and functional, which made the room feel larger than it really was.  The bathroom and shower were clean and styled like a spa which is what made this stay so relaxing.  A wooden shower chair is included, which allows guests to relax under the shower head's massage setting.  I will also add that there was also plenty of room for a guest to share the shower with...you know, if you want to help the environment and save some water.

The hotel opened in mid-January and though there is still some construction underway to complete the renovation, this was a very relaxing place to stay.  If you are the type of traveler who is on a budget and only needs a place to sleep and bathe, then definitely consider staying at the Hotel Indigo.  If you want more amenities, you have to pay for it.  Stay in Boston if that is actually the case.

The price was right--$115 for one Saturday night. The parking was not right, however. There was a big party going on and it was very difficult to find a spot. The room was small but adequate. The bathroom was gorgeous. Very Swedish or something, with a beautiful shallow square sink, glass shelves, a large glass shower stall with a wooden bench and dramatic lighting. Our room had a light shining in from the sign out front so it was bright all night. The room was also near the elevator and a number of Red Sox fans made loud, happy noises outside our room after the game ended. (We were happy that the Sox won but we did not celebrate outside anyone else's room.) The hotel  tries hard to be "classy" and pretty much "fails".

This place was a great stay because I knew what to expect. It is near the T-stop which is in the greater Boston area, and quite frankly, I think I can run faster than the T because it takes forever using it to go into the city. I had a car and used it to house my parents for graduation. I really like the layout and the hotel room. It might have been small but it's not like I paid for a room at the Ritz. I thought the service was fine, I needed various alarms and for them to store something for me until the end of the next day, when we would be gone and they were helpful.

nice boutique hotel. the room furnishings were modern and the bed was very comfy. i loved the flat screen tv and the fact that they had more channel station options since most hotels suck and only give you news and espn. The fitness center is pretty nice and the pool looked relaxing but it was too chilly to try since its outdoors. The best thing about the hotel is the shower, the pressure was fuking awesome and I love how there was a little wooden bench in there to sit on while your back is getting hailed on, lol, TMI.

On to my dislikes:

The room service was terrible. The menu options were limited and when I finally got my order, the portion was tiny, not even reasonable tiny but funny, wow, tiny. My chicken was straight up no bigger than the palm of my hand and that thing was over roasted, tough as hell. Maybe that's why it was so small bc it shrank from being in the oven for so long. WTF. And how the hell did they not even give me any salt or pepper on my tray? No ice water? They def need to work on their service.

The Hotel Indigo is a beautiful, trendy hotel attempting to take the Boston suburbs by storm...However, it is actually more like the storm hit the hotel.  I wanted to love this fun and innovative hotel, but was repulsed by the horrible customer service and dirty rooms.  My 3 day stay was an endless string of hassles; I just wound up laughing at the end, because it was all so ridiculous...

Let me begin the nightmare tale--So I arrive at the Indigo with my two colleagues.  We pull up to the old, dingy building and are greeted with bittersweet mandatory valet parking.  The valets were only on staff from about 9 am to 8 pm, so if you needed your car at any other times, you had to grab your keys from the front desk and go searching for your car in the double-tiered parking garage (no direction was provided).  We walked into the gorgeous lobby and were impressed with the minimalistic decor so rarely found in a suburban hotel.  The three of us had an easy check-in and headed up to our rooms.  The rooms were on the small side, but had modern bathrooms and furnishings, including a large LCD TV.   I wished the room had a fridge and a larger closet though.  Also, one of my colleagues entered her room just to find that the bed was unmade and there was a dirty towel lying on the floor.  She went back to the front desk to request a new room.  The man behind the sales desk apologized and offered her another room.  However, he also creepily added that he would have to accompany her upstairs to make sure the air conditioner worked in her new room.  Being the end of June-beginning of July, I should hope it would work!

Later in the evening, we returned to our rooms to go to bed.  I lifted the towel bowl lid to find dried urine spots all over the seat.  I also pulled back one side of the bedsheets to find a stain on one side of the bed.  Being that it was so late in the evening, I just decided to wipe down the toilet and sleep on the other side of the bed.  The following morning I headed down to the gym, which was stocked with various machines and weights, as well as a water cooler and several TVs.  The gym offers a great view onto the gorgeous pool deck, equipped with several cabanas, lounge areas, and a bar.  However, the TV on my machine was broken and did not have any network stations available.  Plus, the temperature gauge had been turned up to 75 degrees and was difficult to adjust.  So after my sweaty workout, I headed upstairs for a shower.  I opened the sleek glass stall shower to find the tile floor covered with long strands of dark, wavy hair.  There was also a nappy wooden bench in the shower (not sure who would actually sit on this) that had blobs of dried toothpaste on it.  I was absolutely disgusted.

I headed out for the day and returned with my coworkers later that afternoon.  Both I and another colleague were unable to get into our rooms and needed to get our keys reprogrammed.  The front desk staff was extremely rude and seemed annoyed about assisting us with this.  I chose this time to retort with a complaint about my filthy room.  The following morning, the housekeeping woman knocked on my door at 8 am.  I asked her to come back later.  She knocked again at 8:20.  I replied that I would be checking out soon and for her to return after that.  My colleagues had similar experiences, and we were all pretty annoyed.

The restaurant and lounge (see BOKX 109 review) were the only pluses of this hotel.

Basically, this hotel offers a lot of amenities and a trendy feel, however the rude staff and dirty rooms are enough to keep me away for good.

I haven't stayed at the Indigo, cause well, it's next door to my office and seriously, how drunk would I have to be??  But I've had the grand tour from the friendly staff and had a few happy hours in their little cafe area and it's really nice!  The new restaurant should open at the end of this month, which will be awesome since there is NO food in the area and it looks amazing inside.  Pool is nice and the fitness center is amazing.  Co-workers traveling to the office have stayed there and loved it.

i have not stayed overnight at hotel indigo but i did stop by one evening for drinks in the Bokx with a friend and also got a tour from a front desk agent. as others have pointed out this used to be a holiday inn and though i freely admit that indigo has rocking interior design, the ultimate flaw of the hotel are the impossibly tiny rooms. they are gorgeous, with ultra mod fabrics and calming colors, ipod docks and flat screens, aveda amenities and sparkling surfaces. but the room is the size of a shoebox. there is a closet opposite the bathroom but for some reason they felt compelled to add an armoire to an already tight fit. i can't imagine there is a room here with a king bed. but man, a sexy sexy room (for one person only...)

the meeting space is scant but also well-decorated and the outside pool lounge is very chateau marmont lavish. unfortunately if you want to relax in one of the three tent cabanas you have to RENT them. what? strange.

Bokx is the restaurant and bar on the lower level of the two story lobby. more beautiful design, including a wine cellar tasting area. but how do i say this...there is nothing you would want to eat on this menu. it's fancy schmancy all right, if you like french fries boiled in duck fat. which i don't. my friend and i ordered calamari which was okay, but really expensive for the serving size ($8) and then i ordered the cebiche special for $15. it consisted of three types of cebiche (a peruvian dish of raw fish marinated in various lemon-lime juices and hot peppers). YUM mama loves her some cebiche. as i waited for it i thought about those 'fantastico' ceviches  i ate in lima, peru; heaping piles of fish and shellfish chilled and extra spicy, accompanied by...what the hell is being set in front of me right now? what is this business in 3 shot glasses? THIS is what i just paid $15 for? haha, funny joke guys, where's my mountain of seafood?

and honestly my friend and i struggled to find anything else on that menu that we would willing shell out exorbitant prices for or thought might be good. so skip Bokx.
