Not sure if this is for the Hotel or the Green Room restaurant but believe me - both are 5 stars and well worth a visit.

There is also the DuPont Theatre which offers great plays.

I've eaten here for years.

Very good restaurant and hotel.  The pricing is a bit high, for the quality (i.e. the steak I ordered was a bit fatty for the price) but the atmosphere is very nice and romantic.  They even have a harpist on Friday and Saturday nights.

Good for families, dates and Sunday brunch.

You do not have to be rich or famous to stay here, but you will feel like royalty while you are.

You walk into high vaulted ceilings and white marble floors. The reception area is huge, upon which you find a long wooden desk with an assembly line of welcoming staff to make check-in a breeze.

The elevators are off to the side and make it seem private and not like a hustle and bustle affair of getting the luggage to the room, even though using a bellman.

The award winning and very historic hotel is awesome, spectacular and beautiful! The rooms are suites and very large. Ah yes, the bed, words do not describe it. It is higher up. large, beautiful and on display in the middle of the room or so it seems. Down, down and more down and oh so soft, you fall right into it.

There is a large sitting area, totally separate from the bedroom. The bathroom is off from the sitting area and gorgeous with bath robes, slippers and the greatest crystal accessories and the best magnifying mirror I have ever used. Top of the line amenities.

We did have one incident, which took awhile to understand. The adjoining room was unlocked, so we locked our side of it of course. We came into the room the next day and the door was open, I locked it again.  We were checking out that day so we did not report it.

When we did go to check-out we were told that we should have never been placed in that wing, (we did wonder why it was so quiet and barren) because they were using a crane and ball to demolish a building next to us. It is funny now, we watched them do it!

The Green Room is their main dining room and has won many awards for their excellent cuisine and service.  Very fancy indeed, great service, not at all stuffy.  Foie Gras was wonderful and the filet mignon was excellent. My husband enjoyed the pork tenderloin.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here and I would definitely return.  They also have a theatre and there is a lot to do and see in the area.

I have stayed at many hotels in the past year, but I wanted to review this one first, since it was exceptional in every way.  First of all let me say that the overall ambience of the place is ritzy and causes one to envision the luxury that likes of Howard Hughes and Nelson Rockefeller were accustomed to.  Although the looks are old fashioned, the place is like new in every way I could see.

The suite I stayed in for two nights was stunning in decor.  I appreciated the guest lavatory.  I did not, however, appreciate the lack of coffee when right on the counter was a small coffee maker.  When I asked the concierge where the coffee was, he replied, "There is not supposed to be coffee.  Would you like me to transfer you to room service?"  Makes one wonder, even before his first cup, why, then the pot??

The bed was so comfortable.  The pillows were perfect.  I am terribly picky about beds.  Most hotels I have stayed in seem to have cheap beds even when they are not budget hotels.  The room was adorned with dark wood trim and panels, and was a sight to behold.  The room service was beyond compare. The elevators are super fast, and there was not one single wait, ever!

Now to the best part, The Green Room...  If you ever get into Wilmington, DE go eat at this place.  I am not normally enamored by French cuisine, but this is truly an exception.  Not since the Greenbrier Hotel have I had such satisfying service, ambiance and food.  It is a 5 diamond in my opinion.

If you have business in Wilmington, DE, Philadelphia, PA, or any of the nearby cities, treat yourself to this hotel.  You will get your money's worth.  I guarantee it!
