Definitely a cute hotel with a really friendly staff. We got in late and dirty, after a day of hiking in Yosemite, and the woman who greeted us couldn't have been nicer. The room was kind of small, but really cute. My only real complaint is that there didn't seem to be any electrical outlets anywhere. I couldn't find any place, either in our room or in the lounge, to plug my laptop in. Luckily, they had a couple of computers which guests could use for free.

After dinner, we came back and had a glass of wine in the lounge, and the wine was surprisingly nice, not to mention a generous pour. Breakfast wasn't bad, certainly better than what you'll get at a big hotel, but not as good as what you'll find at other bed and breakfasts. It definitely hit the spot before a day of driving though.

A must stop on your way to Yosemite, Lynn the innkeeper was very accommodating and full of information, especially needed since it was my first time visit to Yosemite, i loved the Victorian Hotel, you want the feeling of a blast in the past..nice place to stay!! And don't forget to introduce yourself to the MAYOR of Groveland..'Goose' (the dog)

Just returned from a stay here and we are very happy with the great service!  The staff was friendly, especially their house dog named Goose.  Our room had a cozy feel to it, the bed was comfortable and the bathroom had an old tub and shower head that felt great when you took a shower.  The walls were thick so you couldn't hear your neighbors.  Free wi-fi throughout the hotel along with free use of their computers with no charge!  We did'nt get a chance to eat dinner their but we enjoyed our free breakfast the next morning.  Everything was fresh and well prepared.  You can enjoy a little seating area of the town from the patio upstairs.  We were very happy with our stay!

Mixed reveiws.  The hotel is really cute, but our room (room 12) was definitely lacking ($159.00 for a Saturday night in August).  Although the room was large, the bathroom was in the bedroom, without a door!  No bathroom door?  Unheard of!  The tub is literally in front on the bed.  The room's other major downfall was that the air conditioner is more or less just a white noise maker.  The AC doesn't cool the room, so if you like it cold at night, room 12 in the middle of the summer probably isn't your thing.  On the positive side, the hotel staff was wonderful and the free buffet breakfast was nice.

Groveland is a nice little town.  Very small, but in a good location if you don't want to or can't stay in the park.  If I go back to Yosemite, I'll definitely try to stay in the park itself.  Although Groveland is adorable and only 30 minutes from the park entrance, it is another 30 minutes from the park entrance to actually get to anything you want to see or do.

Voted by myself and IR man (yes, it makes my boyfriend happy to be called by his superhero alias-don't ask - I just nod and smile and that usually works because he's so damn cute!) - as the "best place to spend the last night of a camping trip during the heaviest May rains on record at Yosemite"

Very comfortable, sweet people there, cute dog, piano in the parlor (if we'd been there longer, I definitely would have played!) - good breakfast (I was surprised by the scrambled eggs- had lower expectations!) -- cozy, comfy bed! - oh, and they should turn the shower in Room 11 into a spa treatment -- it's quite possibly the best shower I've ever taken!

We stayed at the Hotel Charlotte because we couldn't get reservations at the Yosemite Lodge.  Husband booked 2 rooms for the family.  Room 2 & 4 which had a shared bathroom (2-doors that you can lock once inside).  Room 2 had 2 small twin beds & he requested a roll-away bed.

I shared a room with my mom.  The bed might have been a queen which was fine.

Each room had one sink.  The bathroom had 1 toilet & a tall tub that I could barely get over.

We had dinner at the Hotel that I thought was average.  A bit pricey too.

FREE breakfast was pancake & eggs with coffee, tea bags, & hot water.  Supposed to be at 7:30am, but they were running late so had to wait around for the pancakes & eggs which was annoying since we wanted to get to the park ASAP.

Yosemite is about 1hr or 1hr Plus away from Groveland.

    For 2 rooms w/ shared bathroom it was $209 + $16.72 tax = $225.72.

Just returned from a stay here, and 5 stars all the way for the extraordinary hospitality.  Friendliest proprietors I've ever met, nice breakfast buffet, and a way better value than staying inside Yosemite.  We also had dinner one night at the restaurant, and thought it was very good for the value as well.  Rooms were cozy and nicely modernized - satellite t.v. and all.  Nice and quiet.  I've stayed at B&B's before with super-thin walls, and this was not the case.

It's funny - every bed and breakfast I have ever reviewed on Yelp/ travel sites has had previous reviewers complaining about the size and simplicity of rooms.  These people don't seem to understand the B&B concept.  If you want to stay at a generic chain hotel, by all means, do so, but don't expect that from a family-run B&B!

Most excellent place to eat dinner!  I've not stayed in the hotel, but the restaurant always has great food, great wine list and a full bar.  They have specific nights for specific foods (Thai night is an example), but I've never been disappointed.  Reservations are a must, but if you drop in unexpectedly, and look really sad, they will do their best to accommodate you.

Very helpful wait staff and very nice place to have a fabulous meal.

It's been far too long since we've been there (over a year now) but it always exceeded expectations, especially for such a tiny, tiny town. It's far better than the neighboring Pine Mountain Lake country club.
The chicken dishes and butternut squash soup are excellent.

We are fans of the restaurant at the Charlotte.  There is a nice variety of foods and wine, and a pleasing ambiance.  Our favorite meal is lunch. Their cheese plate is always a treat, and the soups are often unique and always tasty.
On our first visit we were offered a wine sampling special as part of our lunch (which if course included the cheese plate). It was a great idea.
We have our favorite table for 2 in the front window and enjoy a leisurely
meal watching the folks pass by outside.

Star #1 is for Trivia Night!  My husband and I joined in with all the locals and beat everyone, taking away a gift certificate.  It was fun and the locals were quite friendly!
Star #2 is for the Hotel Dog!  This hotel even has dog friendly rooms.  Although, I've never stayed as a guest here, I've just been a customer of the restaurant.
Star #3 is for the very clean bathroom. :)
No stars for the food.  The food reminded me of my mom's cooking, which is not so great (but not totally terrible either.)

If Groveland had a lot of other options, I probably wouldn't go back.  But it's a very friendly, cute place in a very small town, so I'm sure I'll return!

We stayed here the night prior to a rafting trip on the Toulumne as we had to meet 8 miles east of Groveland early the next morning.  Besides this convenience, this location is also close to Hetch Hetchy; we were able to fit in a 5 mile hike to Wapama Falls (lots of fun at high water) explore the dam and return to Groveland in under 5 hours.

Room #11 was in great condition, clean and newly renovated.  The bed was extra high, which was a little odd but not a problem for either of us (5"2 and 5"6).  This was also the only room with a shower instead of a tub.

Wifi was almost non-existent, something to do with the construction of the walls.  I used one of the 2 computers available in the common room.  The common room had an excellent collection of resource on Yosemite and the surrounding area.

The breakfast that comes with the room was amazing.  Good selection of continental breakfast items including toast, bagel, jams, cereals, milk, yoghurt, and a selection of fruit.  I had an extremely juicy locally grown grapefruit.  The hot bar consisted of home made pancakes, sausage and the best scrambled eggs!

I will definitely use them again on my next Toulumne rafting.  For the same price you can stay in a canvas tent cabin in Curry Village (which we did subsequently).  While Curry can't be beat for proximity to Valley sights, we definitely appreciated the comfy bed, clean room, private bath, clean air and real insulated walls (that keeps noise out) of Hotel Charlotte.

We had a such a wonderful time at Hotel Charlotte. We were on our way for a weekend in yosemite and spent the first night in Groveland (we were in the park for the next two nights). Groveland is a charming, cute, and a very fun tiny mountain town to spend the night in. It broke up the trip into an easy drive. And we had a lovely breakfast in the hotel restaurant and then we were on our way first thing in the morning! The staff was wonderful and helped us plan our yosemite to-do list. We did think our room was a little noisy, but it really wasn't a big deal and I'm looking forward to staying there again.

My brother flew in from Ireland -first visit to USA so of course I took him white water rafting on the Tuolumne and hiking in Yosemite.
We stayed two nights in Groveland at the Hotel Charlotte. I cannot recommend this Hotel enough! The hostess was a one woman show, it is family run complete with family dog-they have two dog friendly rooms. everyone was so friendly and helpful its like staying at a friends house! I felt like I was in a western movie! Acrossss the road is a great bar the Iron Door and next door to the hotel is a great Mexican place and up the road is Mountain Sage bookstore coffee shop come plant nursery-a very friendly lady served us coffee/the owner was not freindly at all but Miss Owen in the Nursery and her cat redcently arrived from out of state -were wonderful very chatty...it was lovely meeting her she is like a light bulb lighting up Groveland...
Love Groveland -looking for land to plant a Yurt and live happily ever after in Groveland

Very cozy bed and breakfast!  The staff is extremely friendly including the dog named Goose. He seems mostly indifferent to people, but watch out if you have treats. He turns into a stalker!  The hotel even has pet friendly rooms, which is a big plus for me.  After my stay, the owner even sent me a personal email thanking me for my stay. I would definately return.
