I love hot sauce and the Hot Licks chain! Who doesn't want to try free samples that kick your taste buds in the ass!? I love the variety, the pictures on the labels, and the comedic names of many of these sauces. Try the ghost pepper. You won't be disappointed!

Hmm, so where do you go if have hot salsa fetish and really want to burn a hole in your stomach. You go to hot licks!
This place has various styles and ratings of different salsas, sauces and such. Love their Ring of Fire Habanero as well as their Kick me in the Ass sauce. Dont know what sauce to try you can get samples and such. However, I have warning, do not try Daves Insanity Sauce unless your a masochist, that stuff is rocket fuel. And if you do try it, one drop only. One Drop!! -

I love Hot Licks. Have been to there San Diego store before and this was my first time in the Long Beach store. Very cool place, always helpful staff.
I love hot sauce and love to try all the new different sauces. The fact they open up bottles for you to try is the best.
They have many different salsa's and rubs as well. A large assortment of gifts and snacks too. -

It's gettin hot in here
So take off all your clothes
Wait up, this is just a hot sauce shop, there is no reason to get naked.
For the last three years I have been on a strict (LOL) diet. When I am eating healthy I usually only eat grilled chicken that I cook on my George Forman grill.
The GFG is an awesome machine but if you have used one before you know it takes all the fat and natural grease (all the flavor) out of the chicken leaving the piece of meat kind of dry. One thing I like to do to make my chicken more flavorful is to drench it in hot sauce. Since hot sauce is usually low in calories (some have no calories at all) I like to use it better then ketchup or BBQ sauce. I have been known to use a half a bottle in one sitting so I can go through bottles quite fast.
Normally I would just go to Albertsons or Vons to buy my hot sauce but now that I live in the LBC I have a new shop where I can purchase all my favorite spicy condiments.
Hot Licks has it all.
Tapatio, Gringo Bandito, Tabasco, Kick Ass Hot Sauce, Dave's Hurtin' Habanero, Ring of Fire Garden Fresh Sauce, and much, much more.
But hot sauce is not all this muy caliente shop offers. They also have different types of spicy mustards, spicy BBQ sauce, Cajon seasonings, ETC.
Every time I come here I like to buy a different type of hot sauce. My goal is to try all the hot sauces that they sell.
When you walk in they also have a tasting area that allows you to try some of their amazing products. If a sauce is too hot for you then they do have cups of water for you to drink.
My only problem with this place is that their prices for the normal, easy to find sauces like Tapatio and Tabasco are almost two dollars more then they are at a grocery store.
Ve ha esta tienda por que esta ardiendo (I hope this makes sense).Listed in: Da LBC!

Great spots to pick up your favorite hot sauces or seasonings... Only disappointment is that they didn't carry pure cap... I like that they let you taste the sauces before you purchase...

Some like it hot.
Dewd, this place is friggin great. They have marinades, dipping sauces, splash sauces, seasoning mixtures and even spicy popsicles. No kidding.
There are so many sauces. Don't let them intimidate you. They have a tasting tray so you can sample before you purchase. That was super helpful for me.
I purchased: Gringo Bandito. I highly recommend it! It's not too spicy, but still has some pep and great flavor. It's the sauce from the band Offspring. Ha! It's damn good.
One major plus is that they carry a cajun seasoning that I used to have relatives mail to me from Louisiana. You gotta try it. It's called "Slap Ya Mama".
Don't half step. This is a great place to purchase gifts for people out of the city or country. -

Mamma Mia! I am the first one here to review this place. Well if you are familiar with the Hot Licks franchise this is your go to place for hot sauces...
I went here during a drunken lunch time break looking for the sauce that will change my life. Of course like any punk kid I walk in and ask for the hottest sauce they had.
So the sweet gal behind the counter and said that this stuff is the hottest we have amongst the samplers which I cant recall the name at the moment was satans something or other... the name doesn't really matter right know... all i know was that it was pretty damn hot but not the hottest i've had.... my friends on the other hand were crying... literally crying...
so i asked okay whats really the hottest in here... the gal who's only been there a month brought down this vial.... it looked like it held pure hatred inside mixed in with blood. it just looked awesome.... she gave me the whole speech on how you have to sign a waiver to buy this and that you have to be over 21 and that you need someone to sign a consent form that you were sane at the time of purchase.... she's claimed she's sold two bottles since she'd been there but I think more people are just buying it for novelty purposes.
in the end i didn't buy any hot sauce but was pleasantly surprised at the selection and did see my arch nemesis "el yucateco" in the green bottle sitting on the shelf. So i just purchase that mexican ice cream that you see the guys rolling around selling... its made of fruit and shit... i cant think of the name right now but most of you know what i mean.... i got the coconut which is my favorite and got some mexican candies and head back to work....
in the end stop by if you're in the area and test your taste buds if you dare... say hi to the girl behind the counter because she was pretty cool to talk to... -

Do you ever go into that hot sauce store and try to look at the bottles and determine how good that hot sauce tastes by what the picture looks like on the outside?
Well... this place lets you actually taste the hot sauces that they sell so that your tongue can do the picking and not just your eyes...
I fell in love with the first sauce I tasted. It was the Ring of Fire XX-Hot sauce... the one piled high in the center of the store... Amazing sauce... -

So I was half steppping along Shoreline, checking out the disgusting cesspool we have for a marina... when i saw a giant bottle of hot sauce!
I wandered in, tried some samples, caught my mouth on fire, and bought a few bottles of green stuff.
Pretty great if you're looking to perfect that chili recipe.
I will most likely be back. -

After Famous Daves my group wanted to explore the local shops not to mention walk off the load of food we had just consumed.
We couldn't look at food any longer, so we walked into hot licks since we were in love with the different sauces at Famous Daves.
After browsing and tasting their selection, my smarta** bf decided to ask the girl working there (the question, which I'm sure she just expects from every customer)
"what is the hottest sauce you have"
So she opens up this measley looking bottle and gets toothpicks (Toothpicks!!! after she was letting us taste the order flavors with popsicle sticks, I was worried right there and then)
She showed no emotion as she handed us the toothpicks, we all glared at each other and said hah, how bad can this be were all mexicans (well not me, at least...poor me was dealing with salvadorian tastebuds)
We all tasted the damn thing and were on FFFFIIIIIRRREEEE!!!!!!!!!!
I felt my food was coming back up.
Another said it made their ears pop
Hardcore bf ran out and rushed to the vending machine, just to see the freakin' machine was not working. He then rushes to the other vending machine and finally gets his most needed water. Needless to say, the mo'fo does NOT share with me....As I am as red as can be.
Long story short
I loved the girl working there, she didn't even warn us!
Great selections
Tabasco Chocolate!!!
and the memory of my bf dying of heat was too perfect!
Thank you Hot Licks!!! -

They have a very good selection, but it is a bit higher priced than you can find online on some things. The staff was quite knowledgeable, and were very free with the sampling. I sampled more than a dozen sauces, and ended up dropping $56 on various stuff. I'll definitely be back, but I'll be sure to do more research on prices next time, I could have saved myself ten or fifteen bucks, plus parking.

A lil expensive but you can try before you buy.....unique gifts too. Try the magma sauce........but don't get mad at me if you can't taste anything for a couple of days.

Smaller version of the hot sauce store you'd find at the Farmers' Market in the Fairfax District. Not as much of a selection although more variety in brands overall. My client (Figueroa Brothers) is all over the Farmers' Market but here is mainly products from their Hottest F'N Sauce/Coffee/Nuts brand. Cool thing was the gal at the counter loved that sauce and it was her favorite. Salsas, Nuts, Coffee, even Candy is available here. Really a good stop if you live in Long Beach and don't want to drive all the way to the Fairfax District to get your spicy fix.

I love hot licks! They have the widest, weirdest, and best selection of dry rubs, salsas, marinades, and hot sauces! I always get my dry rubs, and an occasional bottle of salsa there.
