Highly recommended! I have two Jack Russell terriers who have littered 28-pups over the course of the years together (working on the 6th batch now). Everyone who takes one of Mango and Mammey's pups are urged to start a relationship with the people at Hope.
I'm distrustful of "city vets" (as opposed to a country vet) from the beginning, as I have dealt with more than a few who operate on a fear and guilt system to leach your money from your pockets, or bank account more like it.
Hope shoots straight, while I don't think they could hang the "holistic" shingle on their wall, if you're of the "alternative remedy" school they do go off the grid and entertain ideas that are not (and usually the case) simply adopted from the pet-drug suppliers. I appreciate that VERY much.
I don't care so much about what their phone manners are like or whether I have to wait or not, trust me it ain't easy running a business where you have to deal with the public and juggle people, someone is always bound to get their feathers ruffled (I think they care for birds as well). I think the only thing they won't do is dock (cut) our pup's tails, so I go somewhere else for that.

I recently adopted a cat and did not have any vets I had been consistently happy with for my other cat, so I turned to Yelp for guidance. The reviews for Hope were positive overall and I was able to get an appointment quickly, so I decided to give them a try. I took my kitty in for "Kitten 101" - a check-up and first round of everything (vaccines, worm treatment, etc.) that they offer for young cats. The veterinary technician and the vet were both very friendly and helpful and showed great care when dealing with my cat. I have since brought my cat back for two more visits, and have again received the same care, attention, and helpfulness. My only complaint is that the prices at Hope seem a bit high, though they are probably pretty normal for NYC vets. I have learned to accept that having pets is costly, and I am willing to pay for good and thorough care.

With no hesitation, I definitely recommend Hope Vet. Dr. Young was fantastic and great with my cat. She took the time to explain things and reassure me, and she has a better bedside manner than my own human doctor. The office itself is nice and almost homey. They also have a decent selection of dry food, litter and toys.
I will never ever bring my cats anywhere else.
Dr.Kristine Young is AMAZING. She takes her time, treats my cats as if they were her own and always listens and gives great advice.
They run a great no kill shelter too and have a few house cats (which are those that were just never adopted) and by the way they treat them and care for them, it just lets you know that this is the place to bring your pet. They really care about animals as opposed to some other places I've been to - where it's been more about getting down to busine$$ rather than getting down to the business of treating my cats.

Customer service could use a facelift or much rather a Restalyne injection. Facelift is too harsh.
The redhead was rude whereas the dreadhead was not.
The former immediately cut me off on the phone to put me on hold-a big no no. She slightly redeemed herself by being a little bitty helpful yet curt.
The latter was very informative and patient.
I was suffering from sleep deprivation due to finding fleas on my dog the night before which in turn led to feelings of itchy paranoia and unrest and bathing my dog again in the morning....so I had thorough questions.
A dose of Frontline flea medication set me back $16.50 which is apparently not bad.
Cute kitties or bunnies are up for adoption here! Unfortunately, babies from trendy, exotic countries aren't available, but there is a recuperated black rabbit for $150. He was surprisingly not skittish.

You wouldn't think that finding a veterinarian would be hard in NYC, but for some reason for me and my two gorgeous felines, it was a long and arduous process. We started going to the Hope Veterinary clinic almost a year ago when we found out that our favourite vet, Dr. Bierbrier, had moved here from her previous practice. She's a great vet - really cares about the animals and does not try to get you to spend money on all kinds of tests (blood tests for animals are SO expensive!). Great office space too - bright, airy and soothing with photos in the exam rooms and a great staff.

Nice staff. Vets are thorough and caring. My only complaint is the wait times are a bit long.
