Totally love this show!  The ribs are great (all you can eat sit down meal), the cast always talented, and the jokes are definitely knee slapping funny!  Might want to bring a sweater or light jacket.  I'm always chilly inside!

Loved this show. Old timey slap-stick. Very funny and entertaining. They even interact with the audience. I think the adults at our table liked it more than the kids, but it could have been because the kids were tired.

The food was good. Better than Mickey's Backyard BBQ. The ribs were excellent. Strawberry shortcake was good.

We made the mistake of booking the last show of the evening. Some of us were struggling to stay awake. Next time we will book the earlier show.

Have done Hoop twice in the past two years and it's definitely entertaining.  The show is corny and fun and the actors are almost always hilarious and on point.

Service has always been good to great.  We've actually had the same waitress both times and she's a riot.  Service tends to slow down and disappear though towards the end of the meal.

The food is decent, typical down south home cooking for 200 of your closest friends.   You can tell that all of it is produced in huge mass quantities (they do 3 shows a day so you can do the math).  Starts off with a VERY basic salad of iceberg lettuce and grape tomatoes that is so overly dressed that the dressing literally drips off the pieces of lettuce on your fork.  The corn bread is good but nothing memorable.  Fried chicken might be the best thing on the menu.  Crispy, juicy, greasy...just what fried chicken should be.  The ribs I wasn't a huge fan of, slightly dry.   Mashed potatoes were made from real potatoes and I probably ate a full bowl on my own.  The vegetables I barely ate, too overcooked and not a huge fan of cooked carrots, which was the majority of the veggies.  As for dessert?  Strawberry shortcake was just ok.  Not sure what everyone is raving about?

All you can drink sangria and beer is a plus for most people but keep i mind that the beer is normal bud or bud light and the sangria is so sweet it's like a kids grape juice on crack.  No thanks....I'll save my beer drinking for the good stuff at the countries in Epcot and all the other sit down restaurants on property.  Just because it's 'free' doesn't mean it's good.  Oh but the coffee? REAL brewed coffee, unlike the Nescafe syrup crap that is served at all the counter service place.  Glad that all the sit down restaurants at Disney actually brew the real stuff.

So yeah... slightly harsh review but... it's true.

I'm never completely blown away by the show and definitely not the food so I don't go back willingly.  Friends that I go to Disney with are in LOVE with this show so I suck it up for them and then get to drag them to things around the parks that I want to do.  Perfect compromise :)

If you like corny shows with horrible jokes, Disney's Hoop-Dee Doo Musical Review is for you!

I have seen this show many times with friends and family.  Even though we know what is going to happen... and even what is going to be said... we love this Disney dinner show.

They do three shows a night and we always go to the 9:30 show because they seem a bit more punchy by that time and end up doing of the jokes a bit more edgy... since there are less kids in the audience at that time of night.

Even with the fun family show, we always seem to go for the food.   Things have changed over the years but for the price you pay, you get basically all you can eat.  Fried Chicken, BBQ ribs, corn bread, salad, baked beans, potatoes, strawberry shortcake... and wine, beer, sangria, soda... always too much!  Many of the servers have been there as long as the show has so they know how to treat their guests.

I totally recommend this show over some of the other dinner shows on Disney property.  Make reservations early and make sure you pick up your tickets prior to coming.  Also give yourself plenty of time to park your car or ride the bus over to Fort Wilderness because you still need to take the Fort Wilderness buses to the Pioneer Hall to see the show and that takes time.  Give yourself at least an hour of travel time.  If you get there early, stop in to the bar next door for a cocktail and enjoy the rockers on the porch while you wait!

Go have fun... forget how corny is it... and yell and stomp your feet as loud as you can!  Nobody can hear ya anyway!  Enjoy!

This is a must see on your Disney Vacation! Hidden in the deep woods of the Fort Wilderness Camp Grounds lies the best BBQ Dinner show! This is the best all you can eat family style BBQ Feast accompanied by exciting Wild West/Vaudeville type entertainment! Save room for the Strawberry Shortcake and mind your manners or you may end up in the show!! Definitely worth seeing!!

I've seen this show three times, and have enjoyed both the food and the show every time.

It is great slap-stick, foot stomping and singing good time. The show is so popular, they do three shows a night (5:30pm, 7:00pm and 9:30pm), and it is always packed with people. You can walk around back and smell the ribs and chicken cooking prior the show! Mmmm! If you arrive an hour early, take the horse and buggy ride around Ft. Wilderness. It's great!

The show has both floor and balcony seating. The best and most expensive are dead-center stage front (Category 1). See the prices here: http://disneyworld.dis.... However, there are bad seats in the Category 2, fully forward near the piano (stage right). We were one seat back from this table and there is a wall obstructing the view of the stage. The couple sitting there was none to pleased about it either.

The best part was watching my seven year old daughter laugh and howl at the slapstick comedy. It was worth every penny.

    Straw....strawberry...strawberry SHORT CAKE!!!

This is so corny, so fun, and we go with all adults now every time we are at Disney.

We take the boat over, second stop, hop off and get ready for some fun.  We always get our pictures taken outside and yeah, sure, its a tourist trap but its always a cute little reminder of our fun evening.

The food is your typical home fare, overdressed salad and crispy super salty fried chicken and as the waiter said "you will think of me in the morning baked beans"  Whatever.  It is a blast.

I do recommend priority seating on the first floor.

The booze is non stop and the sangria is good but leads to a nasty, nasty hangover.  FYI.  Not like I know from experience or anything....

This is just all in all a great time for everyone, you can't help but laugh, stuff your face and drink away!

In my humble opinion, this Dinner Show is an absolute "must do" if you are vacationing at Disney!  Yes, it's pricey - everything at Disney is pricey!!  But it is SO worth it.  Adults and kids alike will be thoroughly entertained throughout the entire show!

    Corny Jokes? Check!
    Corny Songs?  Check!
    Corny Costumes?  Check!
    Amazing Servers?  Check!
Stuffed like a Thanksgiving Turkey when you leave?  Check!

Of all the Dinner Shows at Disney, this one has the best food!  Endless refills on all of the food items as well as beverages (beer and wine included).  First time I have ever drank wine from a Mason Jar.  Being southern, I have had many beverages in a Mason Jar; however, I can't say wine was ever one of them - totally fun!  The only thing you can't have "extras" for is the Strawberry Shortcake Dessert - darnit - because it is devine!

I won't go into all the food items as they have already been described in the other reviews.   I'll just say it's all fabulous!

Like I said, beer and wine is included and is endless; however, if you are looking for a more potent cocktail you can order one, it will just cost you extra.

Tip:  Pay the extra money and get category 1 seating.  It's worth it.  Do it!

You have to pay in advance for this dinner show when you call to make reservations.  You can pick your tickets up at any Disney Resort or at any of the Guest Services inside the various parks or Downtown Disney Marketplace (next to the ESPN store).  I highly recommend you get your tickets when you arrive and not wait until the last minute because you cannot pick them up at Pioneer Hall (which is where this Dinner Show takes place).

In addition to walking to the site or going by bus, you can also take a ferry from the Contemporary Resort located next to The Magic Kingdom.  So if you're heading here after a day at MK, just hop a monorail to the Contemporary then hop the ferry to Pioneer Hall.

This is the only Dinner Show at Disney we return to again and again and again.  It's also the only Dinner Show I recommend to all my personal friends from out of state as a "must do" when planning a trip to WDW.

Go - Let your hair down - and prepare to laugh until your sides hurt as you fill up on some amazing southern style cooking!!

Oh wow, I'm surprised to be the first one to give a review on the infamous Hoop Dee Doo Musical Review! I thought it was a part of any Disney vacation...

Well, it should be! I have been there so many times that I could do their lines for them!

It is a slap stick comedy show with a series of characters, no not animated ones but real folks with twangy banjos, beautiful to screeching voices and tons of fun! It is a must see!

It's a western themed vaudeville dinner show. It takes place in Pioneer Hall located in Fort Wilderness, where no vehicular traffic is permitted, so allow for extra time.

The food is some of the best down home cooking you will have inside or outside of Disney World!  Served in kettles family style, Ma's delicious fried chicken, smoked barbecued pork ribs, mashed potatoes, corn, country style baked beans, corn bread, tossed salad and strawberry shortcake!

Unlimited soft drinks, coffee, tea, milk, beer, wine and sangria are included.  I noticed one review said they had to pay for beer, I double checked with Disney and as of Aug. 29, 2009, it is still free.

There are no bad seats and seating is priced in three tiers, all seats are prearranged, so book early.  Have yourself a knee slapping time with the longest running show in Disney World, where you will find yourself singing, laughing and having a good time.

Pour some butter on me... cuz im on a roll - if cheesy and corny jokes like this don't bother you, you will LOVE this experience...

Every time I go to Disney I have to go to this dinner show... it doesn't change at all , and I could probably recite the entire show by now but still sooo enjoyable every time... Dress comfortably and give yourself plenty of time to get their and be on line early... a lot of walking in the Fort Wilderness Lodge Area. Be sure to order tickets way in advance - they sell out often... Arrive early too to get good seating, whether you sit upstairs or downstairs you will be able to see everything at all times...

UNLIMITED Beer, Wine, and Sangria... and of course soda as well... served in some jars!!

ALLLLL-you-can-eat unbelievable real American Southern type of food... Fried Chicken crispy greasy and perfect... BBQ Pork Ribs... Baked Beans... Corn Bread.. Some veggies... and everything served in silver buckets!

If you are celebrating a birthday or engagement, tell them!!! They make you get up and dance during the show, or do something silly along those lines... Dessert is also included - Strawberry Short Cake!!

I am still singing those cheesy songs... yeeee hawww!!! =)

This really was fun, in a down-home, corny humor kind of way. I had a sinus headache and felt sick and still had a good time. My mom even played the washboard and my brother laughed at all the jokes.

When they let you in, there is a bucket of salad and cornbread on the table. This is followed by fried chicken, ribs, mashed potatoes (they get cold fast, put your menu over them) and baked beans. All of the food was fine. Dessert is strawberry shortcake and is the finale.

It was fun. Not sure if it was worth two dinners a piece on the Deluxe plan though. Like all Disney restaurants, its pricey but you're paying for the overall experience. And if you can, make reservations in advance.

I've been coming here since I was a kid, and now my kids love it just as much. The entertainment is of course spectacular, and the food is delicious!

I have two kids,  4 and 2 and I am not disappointed with how Disney just gets kids! They loved the food and they were glued to the entertainment and sang songs on the way out. Even though it was pretty late for them, boy they had a good time!

My favorite! Strawberry....Short Cake! It's beariffic!

What a great experience. I've been three times, we go for birthdays, friends visiting town, or to celebrate a random Friday. I go with a friend who goes on average, once a month, and the staff and performers mostly recognize her, which makes the experience even better!

It's an all you can eat dinner show, and my favorite thing is the cornbread. Also, the drinks are included, and my sangria glass is always kept full. If a large table is drinking beer, i've seen the waiters come by with pitchers making sure the beer is kept cold.

one of the things I noticed this time I went is that they have different sized buckets they serve the food in. I was at a table of two, and we were served small buckets, with about 4 pieces of chicken, 8 ribs, and small bowls of the awesome potatoes and baked beans. I think it's a great idea, because then less food will be wasted, as we can only eat so much! But, if we wanted more, all we had to do was ask.

Some of the servers have been there since it opened, so they've got the routine down pat. And, you get the opportunity to thank them quite loudly when they serve the dessert!

A great event, recommended for anyone visiting the area!

This is my (very exciting) review #200.  Much like review #100, I've reserved this space for a Walt Disney World location near and dear to my heart :)

One of the longest-running dinner shows in Orlando, with horribly unhealthy, yet delicious food (ribs, fried chicken, amazing bread, and strawberry shortcake, along with some "veggie stuff"), this show is classic (read 1970's) Walt Disney World through and through.

From the campy vaudevillian antics to cringe-worthy, side-splitting audience participation, this is one of the jewels of the resort.

Reservations are required, so make sure to book well in advance to get the seating time that works best for you (there are 2-3 per day), and bear in mind that it can be expensive ($50+ per adult, plus alcohol, which is not included).  The servers are some of the best at Disney and will make sure to cater to your every need.  Heck, they even are a part of the show during dessert! ;)

You will have to park quite a ways from Pioneer Hall, so give yourself plenty of time, as you either have a 1 mile walk or a 5-minute bus trip.

Oh, and they have a slightly different show for the holidays, so try and make sure to catch both, if you are able to do so! :)

This might be my most highly-recommended restaurant ever!  If you don't enjoy it, you have a cold, black, rotten soul.

Sorry for this long review, hopefully someone finds it helpful. We decided to book the 7:15 show to kickoff the first night of our trip. We made reservations several months in advance and were still only able to get Category 3 seating. We arrived later than we wanted due to some delays at the ferry launch from the Magic Kingdom. Because we were late along with all the other people stuck on the ferry, none of us got to take the souvenir photo. Oh well, the show must go on. We were taken to the upstairs balcony for the category 3 seating and were shocked to find that not only did we have to share a long table with other families, but we had to sit on swiveling stools all on the same side of the table facing away from the stage, giving us a nice view of the wall. They told us just to swivel around to see the show when we weren't eating, REALLY?!?! It's not like category 3 is all that much cheaper than the other seats, we felt ripped off a little at that point. Then the waiter swung by to get our drink order and returned promptly with drinks, salad, and cornbread. The cornbread was heavenly and the waiter reminded us that the sangria, wine, and Bud Light were bottomless. The sangria was good, kind of strong and always refilled without me even noticing. Then the first part of the show started. It was very fun and upbeat. We are a young adult couple and we still enjoyed the humor and catchy songs. After about 20 minutes the main food started coming out and the show took an intermission. We received overflowing buckets of ribs, fried chicken, mashed potatoes, cowboy beans, and a vegetable medley. Everything was absolutely delicious. My favorite was the beans, they had big pieces of meat in them and weren't too sweet, so good! After eating for awhile the show picked back up again, and with our seats if you weren't done eating you were missing the show going on behind you, so I guess we were done eating. We ended up not needing refills of anything but the cornbread, but the family next to us got more buckets of everything. The rest of the show was fun, and they really interact with the audience a lot, in all the seating categories. During the show they brought out the strawberry shortcake. It was huge and good, but not my favorite. Then the did a big finale and it was over. Everyone flooded outside where we were informed that we couldn't take the ferry back, we had to take a bus. We weren't sure which bus to take to get back to our Disney resort, so we asked someone and they told us the zone 3 bus, huh? Ok. People piled on to the bus and we sat there for about 30 minutes, then the bus proceeded to stop at EVERY RESORT for each person on the bus, starting with the nicest resorts first. Are you kidding me?!?! In the end, it took us over 2 hours to get home from the time the show ended. So although the show was really entertaining and the food was great, Disney transportation really ruined the experience for us from beginning to end. So my advice to have a great time at this show, drive yourself to Fort Wilderness if you can and DO NOT sit in category 3!

OMG this was a great time for the whole family.  We laughed our heads off.  Plus there was unlimited beer, wine or sangria.  And we never had to ask for another.  They just kept coming.  Like other reviews said there is fried chicken, BBQ ribs, corn bread, salad, veggies and strawberry shortcake for dessert.  The jokes and one liners are funny and the make the audience part of the show.  Ask me....I somehow played the part of the brave Indian boy that cried and threw a baby tantrum when Davey Crocket was shot...lol.  There is video, but I am not posting it.  I'm sure my girl will have it on Facebook soon enough!!

Silly fun! Great entertainment. Very kid friendly interaction with the actors. It's not about the dry, lukewarm chicken and ribs, which weren't as bad as you might expect. It's not about the "mad at the world" waiter. It's all about a silly good time, and that's exactly what I got.

Prior visit to WDW we booked the HDD and had a blast. So much fun that we vowed we'd book this show again on any and all  return trips, no question about it. We returned to WDW last week and booked the show again. I was a little apprehensive approaching the date hoping that I wasn't just exaggerating my memory of our first experience.  Nope. We had a BLAST!!  The characters are endearing the and the jokes are corny but it's all super-clean family fun. At several points during the show I looked around and every single person  at our table (ages 9 to 78)  was full-on belly laughing. It was great! The food was actually very, very good. I didn't have terribly high expectations of the quality considering they put on THREE dinner shows a night and have to seat a saloon hall full of people at each show. However, the fried chicken was extremely moist and well-seasoned and the ribs were fall-off-the-bone tender. The bbq sauce on the ribs was sticky-sweet (yum!) and the cowboy beans were chock-full of chunks of tender beef. Mash taters were better than average and the cornbread (on the sweet side) was yum-yum too. If I had to gripe about anything, it would be the beer selection. Only option is Bud-Light and, frankly, that is an insult to real beer. Love, love, love beer but I'd rather drink room-temp tap water than that swill. I opted for the Sangria (wine snobs can go ahead and laugh here - I don't mind!) and it was was just fine. Yes, HDD is pricey but it is absolutely, positively worth every penny. Next time we hit WDW we'll try and book this show for our last evening at the parks. If you can wrap up HDD then hit MK for the evening parade and fireworks, I can't think of a better way to end a vacation.
