5-Stars with a bullet. Highly recommended.
This was one of the best experiences I have had staying anywhere in wine country. Natalie and the lovely owners (Steve & Cathi), saved us from a horrible experience at another place we booked, with their inviting vibe in a unique, quiet, luxurious inn.
Staff was friendly, attentive and helpful with local knowledge in a relaxed manner.
Rooms:
-stayed in the vineyard room
-great bed, pillows, and sheets
-private hot tub with 2-lounge chairs outside thru a sliding glass door
-incredible attention to detail from nail file, to flashlights, products, CD player, DVD, flat-screen, iHome, and more.
Experience:
-total joy, relaxation, and a little recreation
-a lovely pool, sitting area with comfy lounge chairs, a fridge w/ drinks.
-croquet, bocce, tennis, and b-ball courts fully stocked
-nicely planted & maintained grounds
-great homemade all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet including: blueberry pancakes w/sausage, egg blintzes w/grilled ham, gourmet fresh scones, fresh fruit, cereals, bagels, tasty coffee, etc.
-3-5 pm: wine and snack every night.
-fresh cookies daily. unlimited tea, lemonade, & bottled water
Brilliant B&B in Healdsburg, super friendly staff that goes all out to make sure your stay is as amazing as the grounds and facilities.
For a thrill dip your feet into the Koi pond and let the fish suck your toes, it's hilarious and completely harmless to you and the fish. Can you think of a better way to start the day??
This place is amazing for the following reasons;
-Amazing rooms: we stayed in a vineyard suite
-Private deck with your own HUGE jetted tub
-A complimentary bottle of wine and snacks on your first night
-A decanter of sherry in case you have't had your fill of drinks throughout the day
-Croquette court, Bocce Ball court, tennis, basketball and a beautiful swimming pool
-Conveniently located within walking distance of the center of town
-Breakfast included with your stay
-Apps/wine every evening
The staff is so friendly and welcoming! This is one of those hotels that you don't want to leave. If it wasn't sitauted right in the middle of wine country I think I would have hung out there all day!
Absolutely the best place I have ever stayed. Granted, at this price level, your expectations are high, but mine were far exceeded. We stayed in the Garden suite. There's nothing I can add that has not already been said. Wish I could have stayed longer!
They really deserve 11 stars, but Yelp just doesn't go that high.
Truly a first rate, first class place that will set the bar high for future B&B stays.
From the second we walked in (at 1am, due to flight delays), we immediately felt poshly at home with thick white robes, slippers laid out, a bottle of local Cabernet, and chocolate birthday cake awaiting our arrival. Not to mention, The Dogwood and Angel Rooms of our party were truly beautiful works of art.
The next morning we were served a three course breakfast by Steve, the gracious owner. He quickly outlined his fave wineries, and as we found out later, mention The Honor Mansion at many, and the tasting fees are waved! The place just got sweeter and sweeter.
Later, we arrived back to the mansion to find gourmet appetizers, homemade cookies, and 2 more local bottles of wine to sip while we played Bocce Ball and fed the Koi.
Our weekend was amazing, and I was torn wether or not to write this review because I kinda wanna keep this gem to myself...........But, I loved Cathi and Steve a lot, so here it is. :-)
I came here to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday and we had a wonderful, relaxing, romantic weekend. We warned them that we would be arriving after their staff had left (8pm) and they left a key and a welcome letter in a lockbox for us. We were pleasantly surprised with a complimentary bottle of wine, crackers, cheese and fruit, and a birthday cake waiting for us in the room. We stayed in the Angel Oak Room and loved the private deck overlooking the pool. Breakfast, fresh cookies, and afternoon appetizers were all delicious! Steve was very helpful on our first morning and helped us plan out what we wanted to do and recommended some of his favorite wineries. Overall, it was a great weekend and we will definitely be returning! I would highly recommend this place for its beautiful property, charming rooms, amazing food, and great staff!
I agree. This Inn would require a 6th star if possible. They have earned it in every way. I took my brand new wife there on our honeymoon and it was AWESOME! The service was absalutely unparalleled not to mention the food was OUT OF THIS WORLD! The rooms are comfortable and not over done, but elegant and worth every penny. I've stayed in some pretty nice places in my day, but this one takes the cake so far. Definitely recommended. They have a tough cancellation policy like everyone else, but it would take an act of God to keep me from filling my reservation.
I had never been to wine country before traveling there with my boyfriend for a romantic getaway. He found the Honor Mansion through googling and cross-referenced it with trip advisor. He only chooses places that have zero bad references on trip advisor, so this place fit the bill for that criteria.
We stayed in the Dogwood room, which, when you enter for the first time, takes your breath away! Every detail you can imagine has been tended to. A welcome letter with your name awaits you as well as a bottle of wine, softly playing music on the in-room CD player, and even rubber duckies ready to join you for a bubble bath.
The proprietors on this inn are Steve and Kathy, two extraordinarily lovely people who make sure to address your every need. Steve gave us advice and detailed directions to lots of fun places.
Kathy cooked us gourmet meals every morning for breakfast. Like, REALLY gourmet meals. My favorite was the mexican souffle served with fresh quacamole. Coming in a close second was the french toast made out of a coissant and served on a bed of freshly made peach ice cream.
The grounds are beautiful. I spent one whole day just resting on a lounge chair, under an umbrella, sipping the free sodas they keep close at hand, and reading a book. I was all alone too. Sometimes I took a break from the book and just watched some little birds playing in the fountain next to the garden. It was so peaceful...
There are also tennis courts surrounded by rose bushes, a putting green, 2 croquet courts, and a half basket ball court. Kathy and Steve provide raquets, balls, putters, and everything else you can think of.
Last but not least, let's not forget the koi pool that lies next to the breakfast patio. You can feed the koi fish and if you stick your hand into their pond, they come up and "kiss" your hand. I had a blast after I summoned the courage to stick my hand in there.
Anyway, go. Just go. It is amazing.
