Still love these people, though Dr. Edwards has retired and some new folks are being the doctors (the rest of the staff is still kicking around). My eye is still being a terror, but they're keeping a good eye (ha!) on me (I'm currently seeing Dr. Wong, who has been very friendly and nice), and being able to deal with both my poor eyesight and my rebellious cornea in the same space has been really helpful.
I've also recently had the pleasure of meeting & interacting Kevin, the optometrist who helps you pick out glasses if you choose to get them there. Their frame selection is small, but extremely interesting (I'd never seen some of these designs!) and Kevin was helpful and understanding as I stressed out about new frames (I can't really wear contacts anymore...thanks cornea, thanks). He gave excellent advice and now I have some beautiful glasses with a two year warranty on the frames! Not too expensive, either.

My heart sings with joy for this place.

Since Dr. Edward's retirement, I am now seeing Dr. Jeffrey Wong. He gets 5 stars for his personable nature, careful exam skills and willingness to address any and all questions that I had. Although he is young, he is extremely professional, patient and trustworthy.
His wife, Dr. Rupa Wong, however, gets 1 star for rudeness. While I was waiting in an exam room, eyes dilated, she stormed in without knocking, grabbed something and ran back out, never acknowledging my presence, and all the while still yapping away with someone in the hall.
I'm so glad I'm a patient of Dr. Jeffrey and not his wife. I wouldn't want to trust my eyes to someone as quick, cavalier and insensitive toward their patients as she is!
I randomly chose this place when my allergies kicked into high gear and my eyes felt like they were on fire. The office staff was patient and considerate and I found Dr. Rupa Wong - I guess her husband also works along side her - to be knowledgeable, friendly, and most importantly, honest about her assessment without any sugar coating of her diagnosis.
On a personal note, I was also glad to see that Dr. Wong and her husband had moved to Hawaii after getting a top-notch education on the mainland. I hope more young, smart folks will keep coming back to the island to help keep our community moving forward.
