I have been here like 4 times over the past 6 years or so. Do I remember what I had? No. Did I enjoy it every single time I went? Yes!!!

I also remember that I went here with some chick on a first date and we got kinda drunk and then went to some club. And she was like "i gotta go to the bathroom" and I was like "word". Thats when she disappeared for good.

I still recommend the HoneyHole for good sandwiches and drinks!!!

Dont get all worked up cuz your date might ditch you in like an hr. Its really not that big of a deal. Especially because in like 3 more months yer gonna get some super hot chick preggers and have two beautiful kids and live happily ever after.

How have I not written a review of Honeyhole yet?  I live mere blocks from here, and though it's not one of my usual destinations I like to hit it up when I'm in the neighborhood to do some shopping (Babeland).

I love their Texas Tease: chicken, bbq sauce, onions and cheddar served hot on a toasty roll.  It's drippy, tangy and delicious.  The fries are crispy and tasty, but a bit overcooked for my taste.  I like several of their other sandwiches, but I think the "french" roll used for some of them is a bit plain and doughy (except when served hot and slathered in bbq).  They have some tasty veggie options and salads too if you're looking for something more healthy.

Honeyhole is a great spot for lunch, as long as you manage to avoid the lunch rush.  I've been in the evening for drinks before and thought it seemed like a nice neighborhood hangout with a fun atmosphere and decent bar.

Oh, and when you place your order at the counter, make sure they get your name down correctly.  I didn't think "Nick" was too hard to comprehend, but my lunch today ended up being slightly delayed as it circled the restaurant in search of someone named "Kent."

First thing I noticed about Honeyhole... the fan blowing the amazing aroma of BBQ onto the sidewalk.  Talk about salivation!

I've been to the HoneyHole twice now and have enjoyed both experiences.  The first time I had a french dip sandwich - yum!  The baguette was soft in the middle with a bit of a crunchy crust and was stuffed full of thin slices of moist roast beef. The accompanying broth was tasty and enhanced the flavor of the meat.  My boyfriend had one of the new BBQ specials and proclaimed it was just the way he likes it:  messy and smothered in BBQ sauce.

The second time we ate here, I had a cup of their vegetarian chili and a side salad.  Bf had a burger.  Again, the food was filling and tasty, though I think my salad was missing it's olives!

I like the atmosphere of the HoneyHole - it's kind of dark, but that adds to its cozy appeal.  I particularly enjoy sitting in the booths in the window, where you can people watch to your hearts content while partaking in the delicious cuisine.

I'm definitely heading back here next time I crave a sandwich... which is every time I happen to walk by.

I still love you HoneyHole.  You lose a star since today it took forever for my sandwich to come out.  It was mid-afternoon and I hadn't eaten yet and was starving.  I know your kitchen was probably just behind but I'm still a little grumpy.

I think I prefer coming here during dinner instead of hunting for a table after ordering food hoping that I can find a spot by the time you bring my sandwich.  Luckily though, the long wait for food today provided plenty of time for us to find a table, watch lots of other tables empty out, watch people eat their food, and then get ours.

I walked into this fine place on a Saturday evening with a few friends and sat down for a sandwich. They really take pride in their sandwiches- and man, are they nice and meaty. I got the Gooch, which was served au jus. My friend got the Buford T. Justice, which is a fine barbecue-y number. The fries were good- not the wimpy kind you dread to get in restaurants! They also had a good selection of brews, and the waitstaff was helpful in selecting it.

The service was timely, the beverages were satisfying, and the sandwiches were deep-down satisfying. I'd recommend the Honey Hole for good food and conversation with a few friends.

I love the Texas Tease and the fries.  The bbq sauce is really tasty and cheddar??  I didn't believe it until I tried it.  The fries are have a familiar crispiness about them like the olden day; but without having that middle-school lunch reused-oil taste.  There is often not a lot of seating so I usually get take out and eat in the park when it is nicer.  Now I just hightail it back and have my snack-attack in the warmth of my own home.

I should also mention the staff are unusually friendly and nice for the hill.  That is strange, often, for take out orders.  I appreciate if someone is nice before I drop some cash!

Try the waverider and gooch.  I have also enjoyed the cobb salad!

The Spicoli is to die for.  It's converted me into a true HoneyHole fan.  And the fries are amazingly perfect and salty.

Sitting at the bar gave us better service than sitting at a table, though you'd think I wouldn't need to ask for more water when the bartender can clearly see I need some...?

Overall I've decided I quite like this little place.  Hit it up at the right time of night and you'll get quick service and an awesome sandwich.

Dear HoneyHole- I love you!

I ate at the HH one time five years ago, and didn't get to do so again until this year. I try to hit it up at least once a month, since I don't live near it.

The WaveRider is my favortie. Pesto, turkey, gouda? YES PLEASE.

I even like the veggie sandwiches (and I'm a lot of meat on a sandwich kinda gal) especially the El Guapo (how can veggies and bread be so hearty and filling?).

The HoneyHole is great because it's amazing sandwiches+good prices+full bar option. It's also a great bar at night, perfect when you want low lighting, good drinks, and the ability to tell loud jokes without being glared at.

Wonderful.

I came here because it was close to my friends place.  As we walked in it was a little weird.  There was a mixed crowd with really loud rock/metal music.

I did like how they did have a lot of vegetarian options, but I chose the vegetarian BLT.  Much to my surprise, it wasn't that great.  I've had veggie bacon where it tastes like what I remember bacon tasted like, but the bacon they used here at honeyhole you could obviously tell was fo-meat and it had a gross after taste.

On the plus side, the fries were really good, I've I'm ever back in Seattle, I'll still consider coming back, I'd like to try some of the other options.

I originally stumbled upon this eatery while searching the interwebs for a female escort.  I've always found the better ones to be named after some sort of sweetener. Think about it, even The Rolling Stones sung about the joys of Brown Sugar.

Then the inner marketing guy in me saw the second part of the name & thought she must be pretty smart.  Y'know, if you were looking for a tow truck, you'd breeze right past a company named "Acme" but if they said what they did and were named "Acme Towing" you'd give them your business.  So when I saw HoneyHole, I knew I wanted to give her the business. Sweet & cavernous, what more could a boy want?

When I got there, I realized it was a sandwich shop.  I figured I hiked all this way, I may as well eat something. I did. It was good.

I love, LOVE this place!! Amazing sandwiches for a great price!!

And the staff is always super nice. Very easy to start a conversation with everyone, which for me is a plus. I like my servers/host(ess) to bevery friendly.

Getting to the food: My usual is the Waverider (Pesto, tomatoes, gouda, turkey, mayo), side of fries and a water bottle. My fiance recently started ordering the same thing. Both orders is only $21 and some change!

Yup, delicious and inexpensive.

HIGHLY recommend it.

Price is good.  Food is good.

I avoid the burgers and the BBQ'd beef.  But I've really enjoyed everything else I've had.  Especially the pulled pork and the vegetarian chili and the Gooch sandwich.  Those are tasty.  The fries are good, but they have that starch spray on them that's a little funky...

I've only had one bad server there, and she was basically the run of the mill bad Capitol Hill type of server (beer money type).  So for the most part they're really good about making you feel good and taken care of.

Matt who works there is awesome BTW.  I got to hear all about how the pulled pork is made, which was fun for me.  He's always cool.

I've walked by (admittedly giggling) the Honey Hole...maybe hundreds of times without actually going in. Finally, in a fit I like to call "NEED SAMMICH NOWW". In these fits, I can't just have any ole PB&J or sub-meh concoction. Just 'cause it's in between slices of bread, doesn't make it acceptable. Just sayin'

SO, I marched my tuchus up to Honey Hole and sat down in the corner booth. It's a little stuffy in there because, well, heat wave. And like MOST Seattle residents, they don't have A/C. No problem. We were acknowledged immediately by our wonderful server who promptly brought us water. We himmed and hawed over the menu, and finally, order our sandwiches off the hot list - I chose a hot turkey with the boy ordering a hot roast beef. We waited. And to my SHOCK there they were mere moments later. I don't know if it was the heat, or if these folks at Honey Hole just know how to make a sandwich and not take forever. I'm guessing it was the latter. They were delicious. The sandwich was gooey and the cheese all melty - the bread wasn't stiff and over-toasted either, which (in my professional opinion) is a common ailment of hot sandwiches.

I'll for sure be back. Probably sooner than later. On account of the "OMG NEED"

I don't know why more places don't serve hot sandwiches. Seriously, who doesn't love hot sandwiches? I have been here with friends and parents, in the middle of the day and at night, and it is always good. They have decent vegetarian options too. One year my birthday landed on a very early Easter Sunday, and the Honey Hole seemed to be one of the only restaurants open that day. Comfort food was a must as I was dragging around my hungover roommate. In conclusion, the Honey Hole saved my birthday. Find out when the kitchen closes and make sure to come well before that. If there is a line, it is probably worth the wait.

Now let me start by saying I am not a sandwich person.  I don't really like bread, I've never liked sandwiches.  But this place is good!

I went today for lunch and the El Guapo.  I'll admit I ordered it mainly for the name, I'm a big 3 Amigos fan... it's a vegetarian sandwich that is made on a very light and toasted baguette with red onion, green pepper, gouda, tomato and a lite creamy sauce.... and it's warm.  I pretty much devoured it.

The service here leaves a bit to be desired, none of the dudes who worked here seemed all that pleasant.  They basically wandered the place aimlessly screaming names until someone realized their order was ready.... don't you think you could use numbers or something?  The place is loud anyway cause it's small and packed with people, so guys walking around literally YELLING names doesn't help.

The non-alcoholic beverage list leaves something to be desired.  My choices seemed to be water, pop (coke products), and nestea unsweetened tea.  I sandwhich shop needs lemonade or Jones soda or something.

The restaurant itself is nice and cozy, tables are close together but comfortable.  The bar is miniscule, but I guess it's a bonus that they have a bar at all.

My mouth is kinda big. I can eat a cupcake in two bites. And yet I had trouble eating one of the burgers at HoneyHole because it had to much stuff in it. I recall bacon, onion rings, and some dressing that I don't exactly recall. But yeah, it was one of the best under $9 burgers I've had in a while. It came with a whole big helping of fries too and the fries were super crunchy. Mmmm...

Atmosphere-wise it's like a sandwich shop mixed with a dive bar mixed with a comfy coffee lounge. I definitely felt really comfy there even though the space was kinda tight.

Ive eaten here twice. The first time I came in, I got the Waverider sandwhich. I really wanted this to have more toppings and less bread. I ended up ditching about 1/3rd of the roll. It was just too much bread!

The last time I came in I got the French Dip, which was really good, but again too much bread!'

I will be back to try other delights, but will probably ditch the half the bread...again. :)

Despite a questionable name this place is top notch.

I get the feeling the decor is trying to pretend to be upscale while mocking it and playing cap hill music with some mood lighting to really get things going. Overall the atmosphere is damn good and I wouldn't hesitate to bring anyone here ever.

The service is some of the best I have ever experienced. In under ten minutes I am able to walk in and grab a seat, order a beer, get the beer, order the sandwich and then get the sandwich. Some fast food joints can't even move as fast as these guys do. The last time I was in I had the summer babe which was so feeling I could barely fit in any of my fries. And the fries are damn tasty as well.

The only thing I find disappointing is that the "pint" glasses as far as I can tell as falsies meaning they have an extra thick bottom and you only get 14oz instead of 16oz pours.  They could also do with a slightly better beer selection but they have enough local micros to satisfy your average beer nerd.

Last week, I snuck a quick to-go meal from HH into a 30 minute pre-theater window. The kitchen wasn't greased lightening, but they didn't make us late, either. Props.

My vegetarian "BLT" was good, although I can think of several places that do it better (Bleu comes to mind). Fries were so good that they brought the whole meal up another notch.

I find the tiki kitsch decor slightly horrifying. I mean, think about how much dust is lurking in the feather lamps that are dangling RIGHT OVER YOUR FOOD. I am down with dirty dive bars, because alcohol sanitizes everything (amiright??) But creepy dust-traps and food? Blerg!

Mmmm, The Honey Hole!  Totally yumm-o sandwiches!!!  I have never had a bad sandwich here but I think that my favorite has got to be the Wednesday special, O-Danny Boy.  The only reason they don't get 5 stars is that sometimes I question how often their employees shower.  Really...I don't want to smell you when I am ordering food.

P.S.  A co-worker and I tried to look up their menu online once when we were craving a sandwich for lunch...their website is http://THEhoneyhole.com, I don't suggest trying to visit http://honeyhole.com while at your place of employment! :)

I'm not sure why the Honeyhole thinks it can get away making sandwiches with such terrible bread. I've been under a dozen times over the three years I've been in Seattle, and every time I think it won't be what I remember.

And every time, I am defeated by bland. Knowing there is decent bread in Seattle makes this a lot worse - it's not like we're Evansville, where I'd expect Mayo to be considered a spice.

Everything else about the Honeyhole I rather like. The fries, the atmosphere, the service, the booze. But if you're not nailing the premise, does it matter?

I first wandered into Honey Hole before I had officially moved to Seattle and I was still checking out the lay of the land. I came late at night and found an unassuming establishment that served up tasty sandwiches and stiff drinks.

After moving here, I found myself popping by for lunch on occasion and always found that the sandwiches hit the spot and that the staff were quick.

Unfortunately, my most recent visit didn't stay true to that pattern. Honey Hole's menu offers a large selection of warm and cold sandwiches and the portions are quite big (I'm set with a half). As I normally do, I ordered the Waverider, which is a turkey, pesto, red onion and cheese creation. You have to request mayo or mustard or whatever and since there was pesto on my sandwich, I declined having any more condiments. Mistake. My sandwich was so, so dry. I ended up picking at the bread trying to get rid of some of the dryness. My friend who ordered a sandwich that was not toasted also had the same problem. Dry and bland. The service wasn't as speedy as I recalled and it was hard finding a table to sit at since there were many tables left unbussed and crumb covered.

I wouldn't say I'd be opposed to coming back, but I definitely wouldn't pick the spot on my own.

GREAT sandwiches.  Good draft beer.   (Try Dick's Working Man's Brown Ale (from Centralia) if you haven't already.)  Inviting and friendly atmosphere.  Amazing place.

I'd go every damn day if I could.

Oh, but avoid the beer cheese soup--unless you're planning on using it as a dip.

"Honeyhole." I just love saying it. The friend had a sandwich with vegan bacon and very crunchy (roof-of-the-mouth-cutting crunchy) bread, which was actually very delicious (the blood may have added some extra kick...) and I sampled a cup of the soup of the day (lentil), which was divine. Options for vegetarians and meat-eaters alike, and all in a very cool atmosphere with good music. Casual cafe by day, bar by night (I'll have to come back for a cocktail). Order your food at the counter and...get this...bus your own table (?!). I've never heard of such a thing at an establishment that doesn't use paper tableware, but apparently it's a Seattle thing. Mmmm.

The last time I came to the Honeyhole I was pleasantly surprised- but today was another story.

We knew we wanted sammiches but didn't want to venture up to Cafe Presse so we stopped in at the HH. Unfortunately their service has changed to a counter ordering thing where you stand in line forever and then have to go find seating. The people working behind the counter, taking orders and making sandwiches all looked like they were in the middle of their worst nightmares, without exception.

We waited for 30 minutes for our sandwiches, all the while watching plates of food being delivered to tables of people who were behind us in the ordering line. I think they actually killed the pig that made up Brian's pulled pork sandwich and roasted it while we waited!

Finally, with five minutes left to go on our parking meter and 10 minutes until Brian had to be at work, he went up and asked the grumpy order-taker where oh where our food was... two more minutes...

So we grabbed the plates of food, went up and got take-out bags and dashed to our car. So much for eating lunch together..

On to the food: the cheese on the pulled pork sandwich doesn't really go well with the sauce on the meat and the sourdough roll my BLT came on was so hard that Brian actually cut his gums trying to take a bite of it! I had to peel off one side of the roll to get to the ingredients inside without risking expensive emergency dental intervention.

For $15 this set-up is not cutting it and I won't be back for a long time...

Still one of my favorite sandwich shops ever. Great veggie and carnivorous menu items, so it's very group friendly. From downtown, a bit of an uphill hike up Pike, but sooo worth it!

My favorites are El Guapo, the Gooch(for you Diffrent Strokes fans) and the Texas Tease. I had the Texas Tease this time; great shredded chicken breast, still moist but not diluted in BBQ sauce, and served on a soft french roll. The onions, tho, are the real kick in this sandwich.

For lunchtime, the wait can be long, so be prepared to order right when you get in. Also, if you go here, be prepared to take it to go. The place is small, so tables are pretty scarce. So large groups might be outta luck. But for the quality of food, it's worth taking it to-go and eating near Cap Hill or near SCCC.
Joey from "Friends" would love this place, as this turns to a bar that serves sandwiches until 2am.

But hands-down one of the best sandwich shops and lunch-time places in the Cap Hill area.

The name of this restaurant makes me giggle like I'm Beavis or Butthead.  However, if you want a french dip as big as your head, go to the HoneyHole on Wednesdays - it's the special.  They will make it any other day, too.  Their hot sandwiches are consistenly good.  The beer cheese soup is like queso and adds about an inch to my waistline everytime I eat it, but, it's addictive.  Chachi's Favorite and the Corleone are also excellent.  I prefer this place for lunch rather than dinner, as it's a little more casual.  Great music selection, too.

A bit too chaotic at night, but just right for lunch.  Live the veggie options, and the breads are just right for sandwiches: not too flavorful or sweet, but not boring, and soft while still solid.

I prefer Baguette Box, but HoneyHole offers better repeat value with many more veg options.

Okay even more of a reason to love this place, I was walking home @7am on a Saturday, walked past the honey hole and all you could smell was the sweet smokey BBQ sause. I could see the smoke coming out from the vent above the door....... and oh I just melted. I can't believe they are there cooking that early! I love the honey hole. Burgers are great. Sandwiches are awesome. Anything with BBQ sauce is a good bet there. And I love the atmosphere. You can almost all ways find a seat. Staff is super attentive to your needs. I really only go at night, I went during the day once and did not like the walk up to order bit. But at night there are servers.

During the day, you walk up and order.  In the evening it switches over to a full-fledged sit down restaurant.  Cute little bar in the corner with a handful of stools.  My eyes are always bigger than my stomach,  no matter what I order.

The onion rings are out of this world.  Chachi's Favorite is also mine.

Getting a hot gooch at HoneyHole is worth so much more than the mere dirty joke due to the deliciousness of the sandwich.  All of the hot sandwiches I've had are great and they even made a pretty mean egg salad.  Chachi's Fav. and the Luke Duke are also winners.  Solid bread and a decent side of fries bump this place above your average sandwich.

A relaxed atmosphere for lunch or even late at night because when's the last time your "$5 footlong" came with shots of whiskey?  Never! Except that one Tuesday with Devon, but that night ended with an arrest and cold sweet onion sauce in your hair.

Eat here and end your night with a hot piece of delicious instead.

Meatball Sandwich!!!  Oooohhhhhhh Aaaahhhhh! YUMMY!  I think it was the inner-Joey in me (Joey of Friends) that inspired me to have a meatball sandwich.  When I think of meatballs I automatically think of spaghetti, but I was feeling adventurous and thought, what the hell.  I'm at a place called Honeyhole so be adventurous!  For good measure I also ordered a Long Island... after downing a few of those everything tastes good =)

The Long Island deserves a B+.... I've had better, but it was tasty.... my dinner buddies both had some fruity drink with sunrise or sunshine in the name... they quite liked them.

Then came the good stuff!  The meatballs themselves were sort of forgetful, but combined with the sauce, the fromage and the bread.... ooooh la la!  Heaven.  I'm a strong believer that cheese makes everything better and I was thusly pleased with the copious amounts of mozzarella.  The bread was buttery, crispy and toasty!  Most enjoyable.  The meatballs could have had a little more flavor, but I was overall thrilled with my sandwich.  I'm not a huge fan of the Steak Fries they serve, but they were better than most I've had.  My two buddies both ordered the burger which they enjoyed.  I was too full after inhaling my sandwich to sample there's, but they looked tasty.

I'll be back!  I'll be back! I'll be back!  It's so tempting for me to order another meatball samich, but I'm going to try my very hardest to expand my repertoire!  Come here!  And if there's a wait you can go to Babeland which is right next door....
