This is a really wonderful deal for what you get. The rooms are suites, and at $99 a night well worth it.
However the food is to die for -- for a cheap hotel. Omelettes made-to-order, grits, sausage, fresh fruit, nice cereal selection. Best continental breakfast I've ever had at a cheap hotel. -

I love getting a great deal ... and this place definitely qualifies. Attending a convention in Tampa, I needed a quality budget hotel. This place is IT. I paid less than $80 per night on a weekend, and got a large room with a king sized bed, couch, table, full kitchen ... everything you could ask for. Very comfortable, clean and aesthetically appealing. The hotel is designed to be an extended stay establishment (hence the kitchen), but there's no minimum stay involved.
It's about 10 miles from downtown Tampa, as Clint said, and beware, drive too far down Park River and you end up in some seriously questionable neighborhoods. But the area surrounding the hotel itself is just fine.
One thing - driving to downtown, the main road is a tollway, and it's $1.75 each way - for a 5 mile route. A little pricey! Not the hotel's fault, obviously, but just keep in mind if you need to be driving back and forth from downtown frequently.

My #1 choice for a hotel in the Tampa area, I stay here 3 months a year.
The rooms are NICE. I always have a one bedroom suite. Flat screen in living room and bedroom. Full kitchen with stainless steel appliances. Monday through thursday they serve a free full dinner in the dining room and they put the menu on the fridge in your room. They serve hot breakfast for free too. Beautiful facilities and amenities- I love the fan over the bed!
The staff is friendly- Rose remembers my name and greats me each time. She is also funny which is welcoming after a stressfull day. -

For $98 plus taxes per night, this is an excellent value for a hotel near Tampa. Although listed in Tampa, this is actually in Brandon, about 10 miles east of downtown Tampa.
1. Rooms: Adequate amount of room....efficient and not overly spacious. Kitchenette with stove and refrigerator. Very clean facilities.
2. Food: All food here is free...well included with the price of the room. If you like the standard scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, fruit, oatmeal, cereals, muffins, toast, juice, etc.....you won't be disappointed. At night...they sever appetizers with wine and beer. Nothing memorable, but if you are on a budget you can feed your family here.
Overall: 4 stars for a clean and friendly staffed hotel. -

have stayed here about 6-7 times the past 3 years. Always good service and clean facility, however, my last trip there was a howling/whining dog in the room next to me. I think maybe the dog was left alone? Let's hope this was an isolated incident, as I got no sleep. Decent breakfast (same as most Hilton/Hampton Inn type of properties) and free beer and snacks at night.
