Ugh. This place was two short steps above being a dump.
Sure, the price was lower than most, but it was still overpriced for what you got. Linens were bad. Kitchenette was nearly comical.
And maid service was only once a week. Okay, if it's only once a week, give me more than just one tiny bar of soap. And there was no shampoo/etc. *sigh*
And when it was serviced, the cup and bowl I had used earlier was still in the sink. There was no dishsoap in the room, there were no rags or sponges, etc. So, was I expected to wash them myself with some kind of super brain wave power? *shrug* The service didn't wash them, and I couldn't either, so there they sat.
And room stunk daily from the cooking going on in other adjacent rooms.
I'm giving 2 stars only because the rate was below $100/nt. I guess I got exactly what I paid for. Silly me.
I followed the tech boom to the Bay Area in the mid 90s. Housing was at such a shortage, I had a 1.5 month wait to get an apartment, so after a couple weeks at Motel 6, I stayed here. A very good location off Lawrence, 237 and the 101. At the time, it was walking distance to Infoseek - remember them?
