1 review for Homestead Studio Suites Hotel
On a budget? Need a decent place to crash over long term? Even if you only need a day or two, you should consider Homestead Studio Suites in Fremont. If you book online (Priceline or Hotwire - we recommend Priceline because they offer the chance to extend your stay at the same price) you'll get some ridiculously low prices per night. Try around the $39 a night range and you'll get it.
It's listed as a 2 star hotel and that's true, but there are many reasons to overlook that rating. First, it's run by a family and they're generally very good about customer service. It's a little shabby in places (older carpet, out-dated colors) but in general everything is clean and neat and if you get the suite, you'll have access to a cool little kitchen with full stove, microwave and refrigerator!
For the price you'll pay online, you could get your friends together and have a great long weekend in a decent room with all the amenities and still be close enough to hit up most of the fun spots in the bay with just a little bit of driving.
Parking is limited, so if you come in late night, plan on parking along the back of the hotel - but don't worry, in the tons of times we've stayed here, we've never had any trouble with our vehicles.
PROS - Very inexpensive if you book online, decent quality, lots of amenities. Fast food and gas right on the corner. Friendly staff.
CONS - Older, slightly shabby, ghettoish parking area. If you don't extend through Priceline and you want to stay longer, you take a BIG chance of getting assigned to another hotel and having to move again. No biggie if you don't have much stuff, but if you do, I suggest booking enough days to cover your whole stay.
