Calistoga has an embarrassment of riches.  Luxurious spas and resorts, high end wineries, fancy pants restaurants... and then, there's the Home Plate Cafe, which is about as pedestrian a hamburger joint as you're going to find.  Luckily, they serve up really tasty burgers!  You order up at the counter, take a seat at one of about 8 tables, and eventually someone comes by with your burger on a little paper plate.  Burgers were about $5, and come with lettuce, tomato, pickle, and 1000 island dressing.  I got grilled pineapple on mine too, since i'm sacrilegious that way.  The bun is grilled up too, which is always the hallmark of a high quality burger.  The overall taste is vaguely In-n-Out-esque, but better in my estimation.  No comment on the fries, since I didn't try them.

5 stars good?  Really?!?  Well, places like these just put a smile on my face.  And when I'm smiling, I like to write 5 star reviews...
